Does it matter if I have 2 dumbells that are not the same shape??

Hello,
This summer I picked up a 15 lb neoprene dumbell on sale. (they had one left) So I went a head and bought it. Well tonight I see another neoprene dumbell and I get it home and it is a little shorter and different shape:eek: Anyways do you think this will be a problem? They both weight the same? Thank you a head of time:)

I think it may feel strange. I guess it depends on how it feels for you. I would think if it feels too weird it would be hard to focus on what you're doing. It would probably matter for some exercises and others not. For example using it for chest might be more uncomfortable then doing biceps. Give it a try.

Hey Jo,
Thanks for your reply! I did go a head and try some flys and I could not really tell a difference, only when I looked at them and notice they DONT MATCH ha ha. Anyways me being anal as I am called the store to see by chance if they could order another dumbell from another store. They are going to see????? Wish me luck!!

My 10#'s and my 20's don't match. It drives me nuts to down at then when I'm exercising, but I don't notice any difference in lifting.

I have 2 7lb dumbbells that don't match (it was hard to find 7's so I bought them). I don't think there is any difference in them, but I will switch them back and forth between sets just to make sure, because they do feel different in my hands.
