Does heavy weights = lower reps

Hi Cathe and crew,

Does heavy weights mean lower reps and/or speed on some of the work? What will be the average number of reps and sets in this series? I am curious because I have a lot of weight DVDs that have high reps and would look forward to one with less reps.

Thanks for your time,
Monica

heavy weights requires you to do fewer reps b/c your muscle fatigues out and you won't be able to keep going. usually it is between 6-10 reps and the goal is to not be able to do another one after your final rep. the slow and heavy series is a heavy weight workout utilizing 8 reps at a slow pace. it is extremely hard. hope this helps

Hi Monica! Yes, the heavier you go the slower you usually go too. The sets in this series vary from one to two sets (unless its core work). The reps vary too. Sometimes 6, 8, or even 10 and 12...it depends on body part, exercise, and training approach.
