does exercise affect milk production, etc?

Hello ladies...
I've been doing my Cathe workouts for years (I'm on a little hiatus now due to morning sickness!). About 2 years ago, I was at a point where my exercise routine caused my periods to stop. I really wasn't too thin BMI or weight-wise... I think it was because of the intensity and frequency of my workouts. So for the past year I have done 3-4 workouts a week instead of 5-6+. My period returned and I was able to conceive in October.
So now, I'm curious... Will the same thing happen when it comes time to lose the baby weight? I plan to nurse, so if I work out too much, will I stop producing milk? I was a little disappointed in having to cut down my workouts (I see them as playtime or fun time - I love to dance and sweat). Is 3 days a week enough to lose baby weight? I will do whatever it takes to keep my baby healthy of course. So if it means I keep the extra pounds until the little one is weaned, that's fine too. Just wondering what other mom's may have experienced.
Thanks a lot ladies! :)

I have experienced no problems in producing milk because of exercise. I work out usually 6 days per week, occasionally 5. I have a lot of extra body fat, so maybe that is why--I'd be curious to hear what others say.

not that I have noticed! Joe is nearly 9 mos old, & we're still nursing and I'm back to full force. and don't worry about losing the weight while nursing. As long as you have a healthy weight gain while pregnant and stay active, I found it to come off easily! Good luck!!!
