Does anyone here have an "urban Rebounder"?

RE: Does anyone here have an

I have one, and really like it, I use it mostly in the winter when its to cold to get out and run. I also use it to lay on and do abs.
I got mine from HSN .....

I have a really good one that I spent like $250 for. I've had it for years and I love it. I use Jay Burns advanced urban rebounding tape which I really like. I'm still looking for a killer advanced urban rebounding dvd. I used to take classes at the gym which were such great workouts but have yet to find something as advanced for at home. Still searching though. I think its a lot of fun to incorporate this type of workout into the week. Sometimes I"ll just put on my ipod and so some of my own workout on it.

I got one free from a neighbor. Then went online to Urban Rebounding and got one of their DVD's called "Compilation #3". This one has kick Boxing, Interval workout, Hi-Low, and Latin Bound. All so fun, lasts around 30 minutes each and as a beginner, was challenging. I do these on a regular basis, about once or twice a week, just for variety of cardio. Can't beat it when the weather ouside is yucky. These are intermediate to advanced workouts.

I have a Needak rebounder (what Urban Rebounding used to sell before having their own, it's pretty much the same).
I use it with rebounder-specific DVD's (Urban Rebounding, Tracie Long's "G-Force," etc.). I've also done Leslie Sansone walking videos on it (running instead of walking and modifying other moves, like a 'side step' becomes a jack).

More recently, I've used my rebounder to do Cardio Coach interval workouts.

Many people use them as a surface on which to do higher-impact moves (like those in Cathe's Kick Max or MIC).

You can also just run on it while you watch TV, and sprint during commercials!

Kathryn-I respect your input on these boards and I wondered about the rebounders- do they give you a good workout like running outside?do you burn as many calories and do you work up a sweat? I have thought of getting one of these in the past--thanks, deb

I have an Urban Rebounder. I got mine around the same time I discovered Cathe and thank goodness for that, as I need to modify most of Cathe's higher impact like tuck jumps on the rebounder. It sure comes in handy. I also have various aerobic DVDs that I prefer to do on the rebounder. I have to modify slightly when doing this but it's fun. I also have some of the Urban Rebounder Compilations and I do them once in a while, but I listen to my own music. I am actually able to get my HR up higher on the rebounder than the floor cuz I don't have to worry about the impact bothering my bad neck and back. I usually have it out when I do Cathe's aerobics and jump on it for the parts I need to. I could never live without mine.

Not saying that I recommend this part - but I also did aerobics on it all Summer (last year) when I had a stress fracture in my foot (but I didn't know it was broken). It healed just fine too.

I can't run outside because of knee issues (I injured a knee years ago running, and my body won't tolerate it), but I can run and sprint on a rebounder, so for me, it's better than running outside because of the lack of injury.

I don't know if you can get quite as good a workout as with running outside (probably not), but a lot depends on how much you put into it.
