Does anyone have the Super Step?

Please help me! I am so confused right now and I am trying to have the least amount of equipment I can since I have a very small apartment.

I have been looking into getting the long step from the Step Co. or the SuperStep to do incline work. Which one would you guys recommend? I also need a bench ASAP since I want to start my PS videos and I am doing chest work on the floor right now. Right now I am using the FIRM fanny lifter for a high step until I can save money and get the Cathe high step since I feel it is probably sturdier. I don't do Cathe step workouts because of my knees, but I am looking forward to her new workouts. I guess these don't use the long step...

Anyway, any advice and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:

you really don't need a step for incline and a bench. The step that inclines will be your bench, it works just fine for this. So if you get the step that inclines and the high step, that's all you need unless you want to spend more money.

I have the club step and use it for everything, and use an un-upholstered wooden chair for a high step (I'm tall enough that this owrks just fine) and I get by just fine without sacrificing any moves at all.
Yes, I reckon the high step will be safer for doing the new workouts on with their cardio sections, better than the Fanny lifter thingy.

Another thought here. Make sure you get a long step that has the same kind of risers as the High Step. That way, you can make yourself a really nice bench when you need it that inclines in small increments. I'm using my old turquoise step with those awful magenta risers and add the black High Step risers when needed. HTH Alexis

I had a Super Step, loved using it for weight work, but found it gave less options than the Original Club Step. The Super Step platform is 5.5 inches in height and the risers 5 inches each, so basically your only option for stepping height is 5.5 inches....unless your about 7 feet tall and want to step at 10.5 or 15.5 inches. Also, you would need to consider stability if stepping at that height. With the Original Club Step you can Step at 4, 6 or 8 inches. The risers for the Original Step can be used w/ the High Step, the risers for the Super Step cannot. You can create your own Step by buying the Original Club step w/ or w/o 4 risers and the High Step w/ or w/o 4 risers...to create a weight bench 8 inches in height w/ step height options of 4, 6 or 8 inches or a weight bench 12 inches in height w/ step height options of 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 inches. If you wanted to be as high as the Super Step you could order 2 extra risers. You can order all of the forementioned from www.fitness1st.com. They have very fast shipping. You may also want to consider getting the interlocking mats for your workout area to help protect your knees. I too thought I would never be able to do Cathe Step/Cardio workouts, but thanks to these mats, stepping at 4 inches and modifying when needed (her older tapes help greatly w/ this) I have been doing Cathe Cardio Workouts for almost a year. I agree that you are better off with the original step than the super step. Also, you should note that while you are doing your exercises on the floor, a stiff sofa or large chair cushion under your head and chest will make it much easier to do the exercises properly. You can even add an extra cushion for inclines. I did this for a long time and it was actually a lot more comfortable than using the step, and my form was fine! :)
