Do you split: standing leg work and floorwork?

Do any of you do standing leg work on one day and floorwork on the other leg day? Or did you ever try it? Any results worth reporting?

4-Day Split

Gisela:

I have never done this before, but I am planning to start a new rotation next week with the standing leg exercises from Gym Style Legs on Monday and the floor leg exercises on Wednesday (plus the leg conditioning drills from Kick Max). I am planning to do a Muscle Max upper body premix on Tuesday and Thursday. I will let you know how I like it.

I have been alternating cardio days and weight training days. I am not getting enough cardio this way. Not to mention, I have exercise ADD when it comes to weight training. I start losing my form and focus after 30-40 minutes. I am hoping this will help. It will be something different anyway. The shorter weight workouts will give me time for cardio every workout day.

I believe Cathe still has plans to film a new series in the future with a 4-day split like this.

Blessings,
Heather B.

gisela-
I started splitting Standing & floor/ankle wts work about 8 weeks ago. I LOVE the results for me!
First its imperative to actually commit and do the 2 workouts every week.
I make the floor/wt'ed work at least 30 minutes... sometimes that means doing it for 2 rounds or I do 3 or 4 different tapes (so many of the segments are fairly short)
I have not made any excuses to a leg day off now because I know I can get thru "just standing" and I love floor/wt work so thats easy to stick to.
As you can expect because of the consistency (not necessarily the split) is what is getting me results.
My theory is that even if someone proves that doing it all in 1 session is better... its aint better if ya don't do it! So I always do what will help me with consistency and then I always see results...

Yes, I do this all the time. 30-minute steady state cardio or circuit workout + standing leg work one day, then half a kickboxing workout + floorwork OR leg conditioning drills 48 hours later. I mix and match a lot of the segments in different leg workouts, and my body seems to respond so much better to this kind of confusion than the regular standing leg work/floor work twice a week. I also vary the workouts in such a way that I go heavier than Cathe during one session, then match her weights the next, then go lower the next, alternating these different weighted workouts with my mixed and matched ones. I hope that makes sense.

Hi,

Yes, I do this a lot and I think it has given me better
results this way. My legs are a lot more toned and less
fat on them now. I use either PLB or Legs and Glutes
floor work.

I split them and find it works really well for me.
My outer thighs especially have gained a lot of muscle tone doing it this way.
But I think there are pros to going all out and doing it on one day, too -- it just has worked better for me to split it up and combine floor work with Core work.

I split GS Legs last week for the first time. I actually did't dread it. When I did it the whole way, the dread factor made me not enjoy the workout as much. Now, like someone else just posted, I have to stick with it and not blow one of the days off. Melissa
