Do you like Body Blaster or Intensity Series better?

For those who have both, do you like the Body Blaster series or the Intensity series better, and why?

Just trying to decide which I'd buy first if I had the money :) As it is, I'm going to have to wait until my birthday :)

Thanks!
Melissa

I like the Intensity Series more because the BBs are easier, especially for weights. There is no real upper body workout, and what there is is too easy. This is not to say that I don't like any of them. I really like KPC, LG and SJP, although I don't like hi/lo, the segments are so short I don't mind them. I like StepBlast a lot too. It's fun, but I don't like PP and SS. In the Intensity series, I don't much like Cardio and Weights for the same reason. I never do it, but I do use the All Step Premix as an add on and I enjoy Imax Extreme. I also like the abs of CW and often just add them on to something. I guess if I had it to do over I would still buy all the Intensities and not SS/PP.

I like some of both. In the Intensity Series, I LOVE Muscle Endurance. I also like Interval Max 2 and Pyramid Lower Body. In the Body Blast Series, I LOVE Step Blast. I also like all of three of the weight tapes - I like the two full body tapes because they are quick and efficient, and the lower body tape is a killer but still fun. I like SJP okay, but have to say it's not one I reach for a lot. I don't like kick boxing at all so I didn't get that one.

I like them both. If you have any desire to make your lower body lean.. DEFINETELY get L&G. Particulary for people who have this is a trouble area, this tape in conjunction with the KPC has WONDERFUL results on the butt and thighs.
I know many folks aren't crazy about SS and PP and think it's easy. I don't find it easy - but you really need to do it on the stability ball. When I first got it, I didnt have the stability ball and found it easy. Also I love the music in this series again I know a bunch of folks don't.

On IS Bootcamp is my favorite. I just LOVE Imax 2. ME Is great too. PUB and PUL are great strength workouts.

I'd say get them both!

I'd say I like the Intensity Series better. Some of the workouts in BB just don't excite me (PP and SS), though I really enjoy KPC and enjoy L&G. I LOVE PLB/PUB (except for the fast pace of changing weights, which I "correct" by pausing my DVD player) and really enjoy ME and Bootcamp (especially as the "all but core" premix, followed by the "core only" premix).

I also like IS better because there are annoying delays in the BB series when the player switches layers (switches which seem to come about 3 seconds later than would be undetectible).

I too like the Intensity series better. Maybe that's because it's the one I started with, but I just LOVE the workouts. I'm just getting into the BB series now though so that could change--I just did KPC and LOVED it! I love the music in the Intensity series and PLB, PUB and Muscle Endurance are three of my absolute favorite workouts of all time.

RE: Do you like Body Blaster or Intensity Series better...

If you get the DVD's, you can make PP and SS as hard as you want them to be.

I agree that there are bits of both series that I would combine for my "ultimate series." I love Step Blast and IMax 2 and L&G and Bootcamp. I also love SS & PP for the premixes. I know I'm not helping at all, but just wanted to add that if you go heavier and do the three X premix on upper body SS/PP you won't be disappointed! I'm usually fried after those workouts and I'm no newbie!

RE: Do you like Body Blaster or Intensity Series better...

I'm with you I love SS&PP and yep you can make it as hard as you want. Funny so many folks don't think it's a tough workout. I know the stability ball is doing great things for more core. Though my toughest area is legs and I just cant say enought about L&G.

Intensity, definitely. For the Pyramids, IMAX 2, C&W and ME. The only workout I don't do is BC, but there will be a place for that sometime, somewhere. I still think BC is a great workout even though I don't do it.

Intensity does what it promises: it takes you to the next level.

I like BB for KPC, SB and L&G. Well, that's only half the series. But like BC, I might find a way to work the other workouts into my routines. My goal has always been strength, which is why I like Intensity more -- it gives me what I need. Your needs may be different, and you might decide on getting a different series entirely.:)

It took me a long time (over a year) to warm up to the Intensity Series, I was on a CTX kick when IS came out, but now that I've been doing IS I really love it! PUB is my favorite upper body workout. And Boot Camp is in a class by itself. I'm hoping someday I'll love the BB's just as much. What I have discovered about BB, so far, is that the one DVD I didn't think I'd like; KPC/L&G, is currently my favorite of the three.

It's really a tie between the two, but if I had to choose one, I'll choose the Body Blast series. The step routine in both workouts are some of Cathe's best step workouts, the kickboxing workout is fantastic and I LOVE Super Sets Push Pull. Push Pull enables me to lift really heavy, thus I always get a great workout.

I like the BB better because the fun factor is high. Plus L&G is different from her usual leg workouts...once again the fun factor is high on this one. I love Step blast and SJP.
I prefer the PYRAMIDs though in IS to the weights in BB. IS is tough. It's work.

I like the Body Blast series for the fun factor. The workouts just seem to flow well. I don't think there is one body blast that I do not like. Surprisingly I like KPC which I think is great for the legs. I also like the exercises in legs and glutes. There is not so much repetition that it gets boring.

If you are a high intensity person you might prefer the intensity series. I also enjoyed the endurance DVD, and IMAX 2/Cardio and Weights. You can get an overall feel by getting the Terminator DVD. It has a bit of everything except the straight weight workouts.

It depends... Body Blasts are more fun and intensities are more, well, intense! I love both of these series and the premixes are top notch. For you to pick only one, you will probably want to make your decision based on the types of workouts that you currently enjoy or want to try. Try looking at the video clips, that will help. You won't regret your purchase, whichever series you choose. If you are newer to Cathe you may want the Body Blasts, if you are a die hard intensity fan go for the intensities!

RE: Do you like Body Blaster or Intensity Series better...

Hi Melissa,

This won't help you decide but I love both series. BB has a lot of variety which keeps it from getting boring and after I did the workouts a couple times I started using heavier weights and have seen great results. For the month of February I've been doing a BB rotation and I have to say my arms are showing really obvious cuts.

This has been my rotation:

Sat: SS
Sun: KPC
Mon: PP
Tues: SB
Wed: SJP, whole thing or just hi-lo & weights
Thurs: Imax2

I think the total body weight work 3x per week was the key.

PUB is awesome - especially the shoulder work - and CW is just plain fun.

No matter what you choose to purchase I think you'll be happy!

I definitely like the Intensity Series better. I found when I got it in January last year I ignored the rest of my Cathe workouts for 2 months because I was having so much fun doing the Intensity Series. In June I got the Terminator DVD and loved it as well. I especially like doing all 6 in one week. Everything hurts in a good way afterwards. My favorites are the Gauntlet, Viper, Imax 2 and BootCamp. Bootcamp seems to get harder with repetition. I think it's because I push myself harder and use challenging weights so that each body part feels pushed to its limit. Bootcamp is not a good one to do if you're feeling lazy though. Cardio & weights is really enjoyable as well.

I prepared for BodyBlast by doing a lot of Intensity Series and found BodyBlast easy in comparison. Only Kick, Punch & Crunch was challenging when I first tried all of the workouts. I am starting to enjoy the BodyBlast premixes but overall the Intensity series gives me a better workout.

I personally like the Intensity series WAY better. The workouts are more intense, the music is a lot better and the weight training is more intense (thinking specifically of the Pyramids). More heavy split series, please Cathe!!!!:D

As you can see we are really split here.. so guess you gotta get both ;)

You can't go wrong!

Fun factor = BB
Intensity = IS

Making your butt and legs firmer - the best ever = DEFINETLY BB

RE: Do you like Body Blaster or Intensity Series better...

The Intensity series is more intense with the possible exception of Cardio and Weights. However, Legs and Glutes is terrific. So I would suggest getting the KPC/L & G DVD too or getting the L & G VHS tape.

CTX Upper Body is a good tape to pair with Legs and Glutes.
