I've kept a food journal on and off for a number of years. I recently started one again. I keep track of calories, carbs, protein, and fat because I try to maintain 15% fat, 25% protein, 65% carbs, and roughly 1400-1500 calories.
I don't do anything crazy....Just write down what I eat each day to help me stay on track...I don't write down calories or carbs....but I know when I've been bad!

I track everything I eat on SparkPeople.com. I started with Weight Watchers a bit over 2 yrs ago, then changed to SP last September because I found that with Cathe workouts, I just wasn't allowed enough food on WW.

I voted no. I do not keep a journal right now. I did for a while on paper and then I used fitday (LOVE IT!) for quite some time. I find it helpful when I am seriously trying to drop weight but if I am not in that mode then I don't really need it.
I'm one of those people who needs to spend LESS time focusing on what goes into my mouth. It's been a lifelong struggle for me to become less obsessed with what I eat. I voted no.

I said yes. I only keep a journal when I really stray from good eating. It keeps you accountable for all the bad stuff you eat. Thanks for the sparkpeople site- very cool!
I can't keep up a food journal. They depress me! I have had diabetes for 19 years and they always wanted me to write *everything* down and then the doc would go over it with me and nitpick *everything*. I'm doing okay on my own overall, and after making it through WW I'm down 45 lb from 6 years ago and I've kept the weight off without writing anything down.
If I get into something where I feel like writing everything down will help, I will for a few days or so. But that's rare!

I used to keep a written journal to track what I ate and the calories but I stopped. I just started keeping a new journal, one of the things I am tracking is what I eat, but not how much or calories. I am doing this to help me find associations with migraines and some tummy issues I have been having. My husband encouraged me to do this so I could possibly pinpoint what foods make me feel bad. I am really trying to not count any calories anymore because I was just getting too obsessive.
