Do women compare themselves to other women?

Now that I'm in my mid/late 30s, I find I don't compare myself to other women nearly as often as I used to. Usually, I look for things that I'm currently in the market for. Right now, it's a new hairdo, so I tend to pay more attention to other women's hair. Last month it was purses. As far as looking at all women, I'm actually quite oblivious.

I usually notice when other women have that "put together" look that I lack- I see them with a cute jacket and stylish shoes or bag & then look down at myself to see my oversized jacket and unmatching sweats with the wear patch on the behind and my big purse that doesn't match anything and the tennis shoes I've elected to wear for comfort and then I think-"could I have spent a little more time getting ready today?-LOL--deb
