do all preorderers get the surprise?

I was wondering this too since I didn't preorder until August. It would be so much simpler for the shipping dept. to just slip into every order, wouldn't it?;-)

I would think (hope) so. I recall Cathe saying in the blog that there would be a surprise for those that ordered early. I don't know if "early" means in 2005 or if it means generally early as in a preorder. I think it would be hard to determine a cut off point, but I could be wrong.

but the whole point of the pre-order gift... was to thank those who stuck with it for the long haul!

now determining a cut off... ya.... that might be tough.... i would think sometime around when they were supposed to be originally filled....... and announced the injury... offered cancellations...

if they let ALL preorders get it... where's the gift for hanging in there... i mean technically she just stopped taking pre orders... what? last week? should those newest pre orders really get the "thanx for sticking with me" gift?

now as for her selling it on her site.. sure... why not.... she can make a lot of money off it if it turns out to be good (she's selling this set for $26.95 a dvd isn't she?)

anyways... just my thoughts... we'll find out soon enough what they really did!

Deana, I'm not sure what the cutoff is for the "surprise", but I seem to recall a post from Cathe in the Ask Cathe forum where she promised a surprise to those who didn't cancel their preorders as a result of the long delay in filming.

This makes me sad. :( I pre-ordered as soon as I learned about Cathe. But...I didn't learn about her until this past summer. (I also bought everything she's made.)

Some of us are just as loyal, we are just newer.

we'll find out soon enough! as they get the orders shipped... "you all" will know your dates and will be the best source of knowing if "you" got one! unless SNM answers the question in ask cathe????

at the least i hope they put it on sale for others.... would be a silly business move if they didn't... there's several already asking for it.... that's a couple hundred dollars for them! lol!

I'm not sure how she'll handle this either. I know the original filming was to begin in January (third week) if I remember correctly. She was injured in November but I remember something being said about the filming not going to take place until January after the holidays. That is when it was cancelled when she reinjured herself (or wasn't fully recovered) and wound up having surgery in March.

I wouldn't begrudge anyone getting this wonderful gift. Cathe is so bighearted, who knows. I hope you all get one. :)

i wasn't implying you weren't loyal.... i've only been a cathe fan since around the time the easy workouts came out.... my first available preorder was the hard core series... but, i, too had orderd all her dvd's by then! lol!

what i meant was all the garbage going on over the non filming... not finding out about the injury... then finding out... the reinjury... etc... and the preorderes who remained loyal and kept their preorders through all that (if you believe some forums... a LOT of people bailed out).... NOW... my ONLY concern about letting later preorders have the gift... since it was originally posted as a "loyalty gift" for early preorderes.... what about the "new" preorders that were actually re-preorders (how's that for a word) that weren't "so loyal" and bailed... but came back in... YES... they paid more... but should they really get the loyalty gift?

i'm just saying.....

again.... not saying you, becky, or other newbies.... or even other oldies aren't LOYAL... but the gift was originally meant for those who kept their early preorders....

did i say that all ok?

i'm gonna go ask.... don't know if they'll answer... but i'm gonna ask! lol!

I think the preorders pre-injury are who get the extra.

I remember when Cathe first found out she was injured, she offered a refund option.

I think the surprise is for those of us who have been waiting one year plus for these videos.

My Attitude About Cathe's Preorder Surprise

Phase 1 of the presale lasted for about 2 weeks last September. I was a Cathe newbie at the time and not a member here yet. I was sending all my extra money to Cathe for her existing workouts. ;-) I waited to preorder until February of this year for financial reasons, but I was definitely supporting Miss Cathe with my money all along and waiting for the new workouts to be filmed! :) Cathe announced March filming dates on Valentine’s Day. I took the plunge and hoped to have the DVDs in a few months. Phase 2 of the presale ended the last day of February. Cathe injured herself again and announced that shortly after I preordered. She also made her first mention of a surprise during that announcement when she cancelled the first March filming date. Her surgery was the week before Easter in April.

I am a cardio lover, and Cathe’s compilation DVDs are the best. I would love to have this special DVD, but Cathe does not owe me anything. I stuck with her for the last 8-9 months of this journey because I love her, and it has been my joy to support her. :) She is delivering what she promised to me in the form of Cathe-quality workouts, and I received the benefit of a nice preorder discount. I am hoping that she will give me and others an opportunity to buy the DVD. Either way, I will continue to support her. And I will be ordering on the first day next time! ;-)

I think everyone should really appreciate her kindness and generosity. She promised a “little” surprise. This is not little in my opinion. Look at the order numbers for those who preordered in September alone and do the math. Multiply that by the value of this DVD and add to that the time Cathe devoted to editing and authoring it. She has definitely gone the extra mile.

I would love to read the note she sent if it is not too long to post. Personally, a simple “thank you” would bless me. I love words. :) I am easy to please.

Have a blessed weekend. I will be waiting patiently for my package and hoping to receive a shipping notice Monday afternoon! That might take a miracle because it appears that they are still working on the first day of orders.

To everyone who preordered later in the process, please do not let disappointment over this creep in and steal your joy. I am confident that Cathe will sufficiently kick my butt with the DVDs I ordered! ;-) If not, Aquajock can fix that!

By the way, I sent an e-mail to customer service to see if this DVD will be available for purchase. I have not received a response, but I know that they are super busy packing!

This is thread that was posted days after I submitted my preorder which contains the first mention of a surprise:

Cathe obviously started planning this a long time ago.

Blessings,
Heather B.

I feel that the previous post was unnecessarily abrasive. I, along with everyone else posting on this thread, did pre-order.

Many of us just didn't pre-order that early because we had yet to learn of Cathe.

I understand that I probably won't get the free gift. That doesn't mean I can't be sad.

RE: My Attitude About Cathe's Preorder Surprise

The note was very nice. I'm not going to retype the whole thing here, but there was a sentence that said "a little...surprise gift for all of you who have preoredered with Cathe.com".

RE: My Attitude About Cathe's Preorder Surprise

It's a slippery slope to say the least. I think that the Canadians who preordered from CK Sales from the beginning of the preorder should also be given the "surprise". They too stuck with their preorders and Cathe does recommend buying from CK Sales.
