Directional Q on 4 Day Split

Question for Cathe and/or Cathe fans:

I'm having some trouble figuring out the directional changes on 4 Day Split, specifically LIS & HIS. When Cathe moves the side of her body w/ the black band on her wrist, do I move my right side?

I'm trying to remember that when Cathe's back is to me, my back should be toward the TV. But I don't know which foot to put where to get the turns down right. ;(

Any tips from some of you pros who got the choreography on the first or second try? }(

Many thanks in advance!

I second that. I have the same problem. I am not used to doing that many moves from the other side of the step and always seem to be on the wrong foot when getting back to the front.

I think Cathe did a good job this time around with her little ditty "you're puttin' that left foot on, you're puttin' that right foot on..." but if I end up on the wrong foot I rewind and get to know my slow motion button very well. Seriously - I hold the remote in my hand and hit the slo-mo button and walk through it a few times, then still keep that remote and do it at speed a few times, before rewinding even further and putting it all in. Then, if I haven't gotten it that time around, I just move on and repeat the process the next time I do that w/o. It will come. And yes - Cathe uses mirror image cueing - I wouldn't so much look at the band (though that IS supposed to be your right) as listen to her. Sometimes I even sit on my step and close my eyes, listen to her cueing and see if I can visualize the moves. Good luck.

Good idea about the slo mo button. I was looking for one on my new dvd remote and couldn't find anything but ff and then one that would skip a few frames. I will have to get the directions out and see if I have one. Can't believe a new player would not have slo mo.

For slow-mo on my remote, I hit the pause button and then hit fast forward several times. That plays slo-mo for me, then when I want to return to regualr speed, just hit play. Hope that helps you.

Remember to mirror Cathe when she goes to the side. If she uses the foot furthest away from the camera, you use the foot furthest away from the TV. Same with the nearer foot.

Exactly. Watching Cathe should be like looking in a mirror for you. Sometimes it helps me not to think too hard about what my feet are doing, to just listen to Cathe's cues and let my feet move and alternate naturally instead of thinking about it...does that make sense? :p
