digital phone???

Does anyone have digital phone through cable? Would like your thoughts on this - pros and cons. We have digital cable but have SBC for phone and broadband internet. Problem is that even with the litle gizmos that should block interference with the phone lines, we can only use cordless phones. Any other has so much static that you can't hear anything. Had thought about going with RoadRunner too but than heard from someone that had it and switched that SBC was better. I find that hard to believe but would like to hear experiences with that too. Thanks.

We got it about three months ago through RoadRunner so we have the all-inclusive package (cable TV, RR internet service and digital phone).

I was hesitant, but I can't tell any difference between this and our old regular phone service. Long distance phone calls are free. The only downside is that if you lose power, you lose phone service. The modem does have a backup battery, but I think it is only good for 4-6 hours.

All in all, I'm pleased. Installation was a breeeze and the sound quality is fine.

Hi Marie,

We have had RR for a VERY long time. In fact, we have a wireless network running through the house. The speeds at time can slow down (there are times all six computers in the house will be going at once), but it has never been unbearably slow.

Let me know if you have any other ?'s.

We were all set to get the digital phone when I realized it was incompatible with our alarm system, which is analog. I think they list this as a possible problem on the RR digital phone website but you have to look pretty hard to find it. Needless to say, we cancelled it.

My folks just got vonage, and they have cable high speed. I don't like it, it's fussy. The sound quality is often poor. But, it is cheap.
