Different Steps

Cathlete
I have been using a section of 5" high wood beam for a step and have decided to ask Santa for a real step. I know this looks like any easy decision for some, but I am a bit anal and want to get this right.

I am comparing the steps at Walmart http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2590792
and
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2590792

with the one sold here on Cathe.com.

The only real difference I am seeing is the colors, weight limits, and that some have included workout DVD. Is the one at Cathe's site worth the extra $ for pretty color and no DVD?

Thank you, :)

You should consider ordering your step from www.fwonline.com. They have better deals if you don't care about having a dvd included. I was in the market for just the platform and was finding it for no less then $80-$100.00 (NO RISERS!) when I finally looked at fw! I got it for less then half the price everyone else wanted!!!! Check it out!

Good luck!:)

Not that I am aware of. FW sells a fullsize step and I think you even have a choice between grey/black and the teal/purple combo. Otherwise I am pretty sure it's the same thing everyone else is selling. It's made by "the step company" which is the brand Cathe uses I THINK.

>Any differences in the steps I could know about?

Yes, you want the 'Original Club Step" from the step co (the one Cathe uses in most of her workouts). There is also a 'home' version of this step, which is shorter, and which Cathe uses in her beginner workouts. Reebok also has a step, but it's less versatile as far as height, and is a bit firmer/less forgiving.

Also, the risers from the Original Club Step are the only ones that also fit the High Step.

I think the Step Co (or is it Reebok?) also makes a step platform that is intended to be used as a weight bench, but the height increments are only something like 5" and 10" , so it's not good for cardio workouts (it's the black and grey step platform Cathe uses in some weights-only workouts).

If you don't mind used equipment, you may want to check Craigslist or Ebay. I got my club step w/ 8 risers from Craigslist for $40.
