different ab exercises

I am posing this question to anyone...:)

I am interested in learning new ab exercises that do not involve lying on the floor. I am pretty consistent with 3-4 minutes daily now of crunches and reverse crunches, etc., but sometimes I just don't feel like lying on the floor! I don't own a ball at this time.

Of course, there are ball exercises (but you don't have a ball).

There are also ways of working the abs while standing: cross-body punches (making sure the hand crosses the mid-line of the body to work the obligques); side crunches, bringing the knee up and the shoulder down to make a "c"; using a medicine ball and doing standing cross chops or rotating to lift the ball up to the right, and rotating back to lower the ball to the left (to knee height or lower).

There are several seated ab exercises I can think of: leaning back on a bench, bring knees up so you are in a "v" shape, then bring upper body and legs in and out; sitting on a bench , with one arm behind head and one arm down side, lean to the side of the straight arm and straighten back up, keeping facing forward and using the obliques.

Planks are done on the floor, but not lying down. They work the entire core very well. You can also do modified planks with hands on a bench, and body straight in plank position, adding intensity by bringing one knee in and out or even bringing the knee in, then rotating so it goes under the other leg, then reversing the movement.

see www.katamibar.com You'll work your abs standing up in ways you didn't know - and boy will you feel it. Even if you don't want to buy the bar, the site shows examples of standing ab and core exercises that you could incorporate.
