Since my second child I cannot drop weight. I workout for an hour to 1.5 hours a day 6 days a week. I prefer Cathe's boot camp, Imax 2&3, kickbox, and weight lifting dvd's. I carry my weight in my butt and thighs. Can you make a recommendation on a diet to follow. I am stuck! I eat healthy - whole grains, veggies, fruits, & meat. I find that I get severe headaches and get anxious if I cut calories below 2,000.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I would suggest cutting back your workouts for awhile. 4-5 days/week.
Your body may be in a rut, and thus you're not seeing the budge.

I believe a lot of ladies out here have said that they actually lost weight when they stopped working out as much.

But I'll be interested to see what you get as a response as well.

Perhaps a Registered Dietician can help. he or she may see somthing in your eating patterns that you do not. Perhaps you don't have enought protein in the morning or maybe too many carbs at one part of the day?

Hope that helps! Good luck!

I'm assuming that you count calories daily so you do know how much you're eating on a daily basis. If not, you might want to try that. It's some times eye opening how much we are able to fool ourselves if we do not measure and count everything.

I'm in a similar spot myself. I work hard, the weight stays put. I'd suggest a food diary for at least a while. Do you have a food scale? It's a huge help in portion control. write down everything that you eat or drink.
I've eaten mostly vegetarian for years but am adding some fish to my diet, removing some carbs. I love my chardonnay so am not giving it up but cutting the amount by half. I've tried to push my food intake to earlier in the day. I don't know if it will work but if this doesn't work I'll try something else. Good luck.

How old is your 2nd child? When I had my 2nd baby I started following ww's online. I dropped the weight in no time but it took a little longer for my body to regain its old shape. But if you get a headache going below 2000 cals, then you will have a headache following ww's.
Do you run? Running is great for the lower body. My hips and thighs are smaller then they were before baby now. I would also try lower weights, higher reps and see how that works out for you. Food journalling is also helpful. Sometimes we are eating things that we don't even realize. Jotting down everything that goes in your mouth could be helpful.

I was in a similar position to you and I decreased my workouts and kept my eating the same I lost weight. I have a hard time eating more when I am not hungry. But I definatley was working out too much and not eating enough. I still am tinkering with a few things and think that if I get back into my old workout routine that I will add a serving of nuts in my diet and that will be an extra 250 calories.

Good Luck. Our bodies are like sceince experiments we just have to keep trying different things to figure out how our bodies react.

Kinda tough to say with the info you've given.

Are you sedentary all day excluding your 1 or 1.5 hour of exercise?

How tall are you?

How long have you been on this plateau? Were you ever losing?

I also ask if you are indeed eating 2,000 calories? I just started calorie counting a few months ago and I was GROSSLY underestimating my daily intake.
