Did not work out last week

My boyfriend is being pushed out of his job which has me so worried and depressed about our future. Right now is not a good time to be looking for a job, especially a management position. He has until the end of March to find something. I just could not even think about working out last week and this Thurs. we leave for our vacation. Right now even to think about working out is not getting me excited like it usually does. We were also suppose to get engaged this month, but due to his job, that has been put on hold which has me so sad too! Whaaa, I want to get married! I plan on taking 2 work out tapes with me. Maybe I'll get motivated to work out since there is nothing else to do in upstate NY but freeze and look at cows.

Hey Beth!
I am going through a tough time too. I can relate to how you feel. (A story for another thread LOL). But I think that the worst time to take a complete break from working out is when you have major stress in your life. Those are the times when I find my exercise routine is even more beneficial to me mentally. Maybe if you change your routine a bit, try doing some videos that you haven't done in awhile. Maybe if you commit to easier workouts for a few weeks, that'll motivate you to exercise. Yoga is especially good when you are stressed and under pressure. The breathing helps your nervous system relax, and that can only help your immune system, which, when stressed, is weakened. Try to bring your most fun workouts on vacation with you. I hope you have a good vacation despite your current troubles!!
Best,
Kathy

I just lost my job so I know the stress! (however, I hated my boss, so it's not so bad) I didn't exercise last week because I was sick and it's really hard to get back into things.

The other poster is right- during stressful times it's BETTER to workout! You don't want all that stress building up inside of you. Exercise, especially cardio, will make you feel better. So try to workout and I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

nosy Murph..

wants to know why can't you still get engaged??? If a ring is the issue, it shouldn't be. I wore my husband's (then, fiance) pinky ring for two years as an engagement ring--and never had a diamond til our tenth wedding anniversary.
Jobs, rings...la-la-la: get yourself engaged, anyway!! :D

RE: nosy Murph..

I'm with Murph,

The first time around I wore a little beaded chain as a ring (you know the kind of little metal ball chain you put your keys on!? I took scissors and cut it down to fit my finger and there you had it, 2 rings for under $5.)

The second time around I had no ring at all until our 1st anniversary.
