Did my first CC tonight. Thank you to all the enablers!!

So tonight I did CC volume 1 and then steady state 1, challenge 1 and steady state 2, and the cool down from CC 5. I must admit it was awesome. I did it outside and for the hills I ran and for the steadies I walked. I have to say the hill challenge in cc 5 is a killer. My legs felt like bricks but I persevered. And just kept waiting for coach Sean to say your done. :D

BTW I burned 1000 calories. :p:D

Woah! 1000 cals??? How in the world? How long was your CC workout? I did Vol 1 tonight (2nd time) with the bonus Challenge 3 and only burned 372 cals! I did the 3rd challenge running uphill! I wish I could burn that many calories! I'm still trying to eek those last . . . 3.5 . . . pounds . . . off!

(Wish they had an "exasperated" face or an "exhausted" face!)

It was about 1hour. I had my hr monitor on and this was the reading when I began the cool down. My zone 2 was roughly in 150-160 range. And my zone 3 was 175-185. I sure hope it was right.

Welcome to Cardio Coach!! Try the middle interval from Vol 7 - similar to Vol 5, but it alternates sprints and hills - and there's 10 total.:eek::eek::eek:

is it sick or wrong to say that I enjoyed the queasies after CC7??? I agree, all who enabled-I thank you! I have many of the itrain treadmill workouts, and Coach Sean's guidance is awesome and the music is more motivating IMO. I will likely still pull out my itrain's one and awhile, but only when I'm already super motivated and don't NEED the extra "help" (if you call making the most crazy challenges I've ever done helpful!)

Jenn, welcome to Cardio Coach Land!! Glad you enjoyed it, but then I knew you would ;). Volume 5 sure is popular these days! I just did it, too, and I know of at least 2 others who did it this week. It's a doozy, that is for sure! I agree with Nan that if you like 5, you'll love V7. The challenge she's talking about is brutal, but in a good way.

Tricia - How is your running going? I'm still hanging in there and making steady progress. I don't know how many calories I normally burn doing V5, but that first challenge is 16 or 18 minutes long and pretty darn tough... and Jenn ADDED that to Volume 1.

Julie - ROTFLOL!!!! I had the opportunity to test 2 Cardio Coach workouts prior to release and I can vouch for Sean's impeccable timing. One of the things he asked me to do was time each interval, and if he says it's 1 minute, it's 1 minute exactly! I've never tried an iTrain, but I've done some of the iClimb workouts and they in NO WAY compare to CC IMHO. Sean is such a pro and SO motivating! Keith Irace clearly knows his business and he's a decent coach, but he's just not very exciting and I find myself watching the clock, whereas with CC I am oblivious to the time.

Ah! I only went for about 30 minutes or so, so that's about right! I guess I should start going for an hour! Maybe it'll help!

Thanks!

Hi Michele!

Yeah, I need to pick up a couple more CCs and start combining them! As for the running, it's going GREAT! :D I start week 7 tonight (got off a day last week due to weather) and I can see the light! I ran 25 minutes straight on Sunday morning! It went well. I think this week we go up to 28 and next week 30! I cheated and listened to the next couple of weeks podcasts! Almost there!
:D

I have to correct you Michelle. I did volume 1 and added the first steady and challenge of volume 5 and ended with the second steady and cool down of volume 5.

May I ask how often you ladies do CC? Everyday, every other, every 2 or 3?

Jenn

Jenn:

Right now, because I'm doing Couch to 5K, I only do CC once a week. I do C5K 3x per week and I try to get in some biking, Cathe dvds, etc. in, too, plus I'm taking golf lessons once a week right now - whew! Too little time, too many workout options! :D

I hope to get CC in 2x per week once I finish the C5K training!

Jenn, as produced, I do CC workouts about every other day, up to 4 times per week.

BUT... ever since I got my GWF thingy I started increasing my activity by adding more CC, as many as 2 per day. I just ignore the cues and do them as steady state workouts. I've dropped several pounds by adding 30 minutes of CC in the mornings before breakfast. I just take it outside for an easy steady state walk.

WHOO HOO! Another CC convert!

Wow. 1000 calories sounds awfully high. Generally speaking, running burns about 100 calories a mile. It might be a little higher if you're doing hills and sprints. How many miles did you cover?

Welcome to Cardio Coach Land:D I try and do atleast 2 or 3 a week. LOVE Coach Sean, he is so motivating...love the music too!

And a huge THANK YOU to all of the CC lovers on here! Thanks for enabling me:p

I did close to about 3 miles, maybe a little more or less. I did the span of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge over and back. It's marked on the bridge at
different spots.

Just started CC this week too!! So far, did volumes 1-3. Did 3 this morning, and OMG thought I would die! But the time just flies, and I love being drenched in sweat from a good workout. I'm totally hooked, and thank you everyone for introducing me to CC Land.:)

We can start a CC Convert Club (CCCC) and make the Enablers the Officers! We can have secret meetings and harass Sean with tons of thank yous and e-mails . . . :p:p:p Generally, just be groupies!

I am using CC 5-6x a week, the longer CC for running and the shorter CC for rowing and stationery bike.

I am not burning nearly as many calories as you though! I would love to have those numbers! My resting heart rate is 53, I'm still trying to figure out my max heart rate, the formula puts me around 175 max hr, so I imagine that is why my calories expenditure is much lower than yours.
