Did I make a mistake?

Cathlete
Yesterday (as a Christmas gift to myself LOL), I decided to order a new hi/lo video. I much prefer Cathe's style to everyone else, but I need another hi/lo video for my home workouts (I have the 3 hi/lo from Cathe - MIC, 10-10-10 and Cardio Kicks). Someone mentioned to me that I might want to try Happy Hour by Christy Taylor. So I called Collage and by accident ordered Christy's Hi/Lo Heaven. (I blame my confusion on the fact that it hasn't gotten above freezing for almost a week now and that's reason enough for my brain to not work properly). Anyway, did I make a huge mistake? Just how complicated is her hi/lo? I avoided Cathe tapes for a long time due to Collage's "complex ratings", but have managed to learn many of her steps. Is Christy's much more complicated?
Happy Holidays!

My two cents...

I have found Christi's vidoes to be ultra choreographed...but not as cardio challenged. She usually has very very advanced steps, but so much so, your heart rate does not get up anyway near as high as Cathe.
Remember, though, variety is always good for you. These are good tapes. Judge for yourself and work them in as you see fit. I am not feeling up enough to go a Cathe tape 365, 24/7. I do some Christi tapes when I want a decent workout, not boring, but not quite "nuclear cardio" either. Have fun!

Hi Lisa,

I'm one of the few that has a really tough time learning Christi. I just can't seem to catch on to her choreography. Now with that said;-), do I think you made a mistake ordering her tapes...Nope LOL.

As far as goofing on the order and getting the Heaven one instead of Happy Hour...not a goof at all, the are both wonderful but the Heavenly Hi/Lo is one that I keep trying to learn because the the music is awesome and the routine..at least looks fun;-)...that is, as I'm stumbling over my feet trying to do it. Christi has a really fun laid back personality too..she's a hoot. You'll also enjoy her background exercisers she has with her..Harold on the left is even coming out with his own videos now.

And I'd have to agree with Kristina on the intensity. It's a tad below Cathes do to all the highly choreographed moves..but a good trade off for variety. Although, if I were to actually learn the moves and could flow with it like it should be done, I would probably get a better workout from it hehehe. I do work up a good sweat non-the-less and it is also nice to have a more lower intensity tape to rotate with.

Enjoy it Lisa and let us know how you made out with it:D.

From another choreo challenged exerciser

Hi Lisa,
I just did Hi/lo Heaven for the first time today and absolutely loved it! I was able to follow it pretty well and, when I wasn't doing exactly what Christy was doing, I was still keeping up the intensity trying. What I mean is that I wound up on the wrong foot a lot, and skipped doing turns, but I was still able to keep moving throughout the video. I do have Happy Hour, so I am a little familiar with Christy's choreography, but I think you will have a great time with this video - it is so much fun. If I had to pick between Happy Hour and HLH, I would definitely pick HLH. Hope you love it! Let us know!

RE: From another choreo challenged exerciser

Thanks Erica. That is such good news because my tape should arrive today. I've really been concerned that I might have wasted $24.00 but sounds like I can stop worrying about that.
So glad to hear you loved it! And hey, you worked out on Christmas Day. All I managed to do was eat too much. My mother and grandmother are really good cooks and hey, I just couldn't let them down. My mother makes something called "potato candy". Most people haven't heard of it. It has peanut butter swirled in it and it is very, very sweet. Anyway, I just can't deny myself the potato candy, so I should have at least worked out yesterday. Oh well, I'll get back on track this week.
Thanks again for letting me know how you liked the video.
Happy New Year!
Lisa
