Did "Atkins" work for you?

Hi everyone

I read alot about WW on this forum but are there any Atkins lovers out there? My body feels like it needs a really good spring clean lately or a jump start with something new. Exercise isnt the problem - feeling sluggish, bloated and very tired is!! which I can only contribute to me needing detoxing or a diet clean up of some sort. :-(

RE: Did

Hi,
One of my friends, 48 years old, had a stroke after delivering her third child about 13 years ago. When she had her checkup, her doctor told her to go on Atkins. ( Her triglycerides were sky high and she cannot exercise due to the partial paralysis on one side. She can't even walk because the leg won't take it.) Anyway, she lost about 30 pounds and her triglycerides went to a normal level.

My sister, who is menopausal, has had great success with the South Beach Diet.

Hope this helps.

RE: Atkins

Hi -

My husband and I had very good success with Atkins. I lost 50 pounds last year and he lost 40. There are alot of naysayers regarding the diet, but you can't argue with success!

Hope this helps.

RE: Did

I have an aunt and uncle who have lost many lbs on it, and seem to like it.

I think it goes by personality...I don't think I could stick to it, but them...vice versa

RE: Did

Does everyone have their own version of this diet or are there strict guidelines you have to follow? Suggestions for some good websites or books would be appreciated. I know I can just google "Atkins" but a hundred and one sites will pop up, so some personal experience would be helpful.

Thanks:)

RE: Did

Go to wwww.lowcarbfriends.com. They actually have a Atkins Nutrionists who answers question on their forum. Atkins was the only diet that worked for me.
