Did anyone find--

Cathlete
that the first couple of days using Cathe's tapes you were very tired? I had planned on doing a workout six days this week but here I am on the fourth day and I feel so tired. I'm wondering if I should rest today and only do five days this week or is this normal and I need to just push myself through. So far this week I've done Mon-ME, Tuesday- RS, WEd. - rebounding class at the gym. I had planned on doing PUB tonight but now I'm not sure. Does anyone have any experience with this or any advice? Thanks so much:)

Jean

BTW- it's also TOM so that may add to my being tired.

I would say that if you feel really tired, you should listen to your body and take a rest. Working out 5 days a week is certainly still a lot - so you don't have to feel guilty or feel like you are not doing enough.

It sounds like from your post that you might be new to Cathe. If this is the case, I would definitely say take it easy at first. Ease your way into the workouts, and eventually you will be strong enough to do 6 days a week no problem.

I have been working out with Cathe for about 2 years now, and I still find myself needing to take an extra day off here and there. I think it is always better to listen to your body and play it safe than to push yourself bc then you end up with injuries and that is NO FUN! (believe me). Hope this helps!

another vote for a day off...

I would take the day off if you are fatigued. A new workout method coupled with you TOM is enough to make anyone tired! Plus, Cathe is really intense and if her workouts are new for you, that could very well be the issue here. Sometimes you need to listen to your body and yours is telling you something.

Either that, or sometimes I find that doing something less "jumpy" is better on one of those tired days - like pyramid upper body. You can do that with concentration but it is not as tiring as a straight cardio or circuit training.

Good luck!

Short answer: yes. I absolutely find this, every time I start back into my exercise program with Cathe. It's to be expected. After a couple of weeks, your body will have adjusted. For now and because of your TOTM, REST!!!!! When you are startiing out or starting back with Cathe, 4 workouts per week is a nice round number. Increase it and increase intensity gradually. Don't push through. Not worth it.

Hi Jean! Listen to your body and rest. Oh and if it is that TOM, you betcha you will feel the effects of working out that much more. Take Care!

Thanks so much for all the responses and thanks Cathe for the personal response! I geuss I was afraid of already "blowing it" by not doing the full week's workouts (silly I know). Anyway, I appreciate the responses!

Have a great night!
Jean

I agree with listen to your body. Yes I was tired when I started Cathe and had to pace myself. I tend to over-do it when I love something. ;)
