Diane Sue

Diane Sue,
Are you a professional body builder? You sure look like you could be one! You look awesome, I know I have said it before, but I want to say it again. I wish I could get as lean as you are, I have the muscles, not the leaness. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I eat clean 6 out of 7 days and do exclusive Cathe workouts 6 days a week, sometimes 7. I still can't get that fatty layer off my body.

I wish I could figure out how to post my pic, I'd show you what I look like.

Thanks in advance!

Diane Sue (WD), One of the biggest reasons I converted from a "lurker" to a "participator" on this forum is because of you. I just had to tell you how awesome you look! Truely amazing! The first time I saw your pictures (about a month ago), I spent the rest of the evening mumbling to myself "I hope like crazy I look that amazing and beautiful when someone is calling me Grandma"! Then, the next day, you were my motivation during my workout. Thinking of you, I pushed a little harder. Thanks so much!

Debbie,
Definitely not a bodybuilder here. Just a home exerciser that really enjoys fitness and what one can attain with hard work. I have been at this for a lot of years. It really does take quite awhile and a lot of patience to lose the fatty layer. I am still not really good at eating clean. I am getting a new Dell PDA for Christmas and am hoping to get a good nutritional program to keep better track of my ratios of carbs, fats, & protein as well as sodium. Right now I am not eating real clean due to Christmas cookies, candys, and my daughter's wedding. Normally I am fairly good most of the time. I used to keep logs on the computer and keep my fat down to 20%. I think that and low sodium helped lean me out a lot. Now I am working on getting enough protein as well so fats have gone up. I hate leaving out any essential nutrients. Just keep at it and it will pay off.

I just wanted to let you know how wonderful you have made me feel. I answered your post on the favorite magazines thread.
Thanks,
Diane Sue

Hi,
You are definitely an inspiration. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing some of your rotations/training. What does a typical week look like as far as strength and cardio? TIA.

R_A_C_H, not Diane Sue here, but click on her name and that will take you to a link for her homepage, she has some of her rotations there.

Diane Sue is beautiful and such an inspiration. I could only hope to look as good as she looks at any age!

Lori

Hi Diane Sue,
Just want you to know that you are an inspiration to me as well. You and I are close to the same age and there are many times that by thinking of you, I have gotten over some exercise hurdles. I am looking forward to "working out" with you when the HardCore Series is in our hands.:)

Hi Diane Sue,
I just looked at your pics too. You are awesome and an inspiration. What is your typical weekly workout schedule and how much weight do you lift.

Diane Sue is a big inspiration to many of us, she is in terrific shape at 52, I hope to be in her shape when I hit 52 :7 .. I am getting there............ Rhonda:7

Hi Diane Sue!!

I just wanted to say that I'm another one that came out of "lurking" because of you:) I just visited your website and have to say that I was HONESTLY blown away by your physique...I agree with another poster, you belong on the cover of Oxygen, no doubt about it:7 I truly hope you know just how much of an inspiration you are to not only me, but to everyone one else on this forum. Someone else mentioned that thinking of you makes them push harder in their workouts, well the same goes for me! You are just all around beautiful for ANY age! What an inspiration you must be to your own family as well, I would love to have such a cool grandma!! By the way your grandchildren are gorgeous, you must be so proud! Your DH seems like such a doll as well, you can tell just how proud he is of you. I can only hope to look half as good as you when I get to 52:D

Thanks for being so inspiring!

Diane Sue,
I printed out your workout schedule and have a question. For instance when you say you do Push/Pull Premix lower 3 sets then Body Blast, are you on a split day where you do weights in the a.m. and cardio in the evening or are you doing both workouts back to back?
Thanks!

I hope to look as good as Diane Sue when I am a Grandma. I also hope to look as good as Diane Sue when I turn 35! She looks way better than most of the woman I see in their 20's! I had my DH guess her age after viewing her pictures and he guessed somewhere in the mid 30's! That would have been my guess!

I want to thank all of you for such saying so many sweet things. It is hard for me to think of myself as an inspiration. Wanda I am looking forward to the Hardcores. RE: Hi Diane Sue

That's funny Rhonda. I had to run in and check. It is 34. Somewhere I lost another 1/2 in in the last 3 months.

RE: Hi Diane Sue

Thanks Diane Sue, well I figure if lifting heavy did it for you, then thats what I am gonna do, so I will let you know my progress... mine were at 34 then vacation came along among a few other things, and I got off track, now I have 2 inches to lose, but I am determined.... thanks again..... Rhonda:7

Hi Diane Sue! I am another one amazed and inspired by you! I was curious about your squats...is the 200lb, etc. with the barbell or your bowflex?

Thanks for all you share with us about your workouts! You look fantastic!

Jo

Thanks Jo,
The 200 lbs would be with the Bowflex. Other wise with a barbell it is 75 lbs.. I don't think I could ever get 200 lbs on my shoulders :]. I guess one should never say they can't. I can remember when those 10 lb and 8lb dumbells in the Firms felt like I could never go heavier.
Diane Sue

Diane Sue...I want to thank you for posting your pictures and being so helpful and motivational. Keeps me going!!! Amazing!! I look forward to 52!

Now more questions. Do you think you could get where you are without that Bowflex. I LOVE free weights and I bought a Universal machine a few years back which sits in the corner, looks cool and takes up space and that's about it. Oh...I also hang my towel and weight belt on it. :) I have found that I do very well with free weights, barbells and my pullup bar, but am contemplating the bowflex - BECAUSE OF YOU!! AND IT'S NOT CHEAP darn it.

I am frustrated with my leg progress. I now use a 92 pound bar (I get under it from my weight bench) but I question my safety and know I could go heavier. I have thought of purchasing a squat rack as it's quite a bit cheaper than a bowflex, but what are your thoughts? I don't want a squat rack to "take up more space" if it's only a partial solution to my leg progress (as opposed to a bowflex which may hold the total solution). Also, do you use the bowflex for much upperbody work? (I'll have to go review your workout up there). Thanks a bunch AGAIN.
