Desperate Housewives Season Finale!

So what did you all think of the season finale? I was a little confused as to why the electric went out at Susan's camper at the end. The freaky dentist dude was with Bree. What is it with her attracting all these weirdos?

I liked how they made Tom have a daughter instead of an affair. I didn't like Carlos sleeping with that maid. Weird. And is Mike off the show now? There is no way he could have lived through that!!!

I wonder why Edie wasn't on? They sure don't give her much to do, do they?
 
I thought it was pretty good, overall. I *think* the electricity going off on Susan's RV was supposed to just show that she was giving up for the night and going to sleep. So...I think she shut it off herself(?) Maybe I missed something there!

The Carlos/maid thing didn't surprise me, I don't know where the weird Dentist guy fits in (the jail thing he and Mike were talking about?), and hope Mike isn't dead. That would be too bad, as I like his character. And yeah...very glad Tom isn't cheating...although, I did want to smack that lady very hard (the mother of his daughter). She was so annoying!

All in all, I still like the show, but things are tending to get a bit too outlandish, in my opinion. A similar thing happened on the show Melrose Place. I used to watch it all the time but towards the end, things just got too weird. I truly hope they can keep DH at least *somewhat* believable. For me, that's what makes a show good...believable, yet nutty enough to be entertaining!
 
I agree with you. I use to watch Melrose Place as well. Loved it for a few years and then it got so stupid I couldn't watch it anymore. Same with Dallas. Once J.R. got shot, the show got stupid. I hope they don't do that to DH either.
 
I agree with you ladies as far as melrose place ("bree" (can't remember her real name) played on that too) was such a great show til they just took it too far out.

I thought the show last night was boring:( . they didn't leave any real cliff hangers except we don't know what's the deal with the weirdo dentist. I too was glad tom wasn't cheating and want to slap his daughter's mother. she's got alot of nerve. i was sad for gabrielle, kinda..i have to keep in mind she is also a cheater:p .
 
We've watched on and off this season and been kind of disappointed. We had a choice of watching a movie (Elizabethtown) or the finale last night and my 17 and 15 yo DDs opted for the movie because (just as has been said) the plot lines have been just a bit too 'out there'. Let's hope that next season they get back on track. The first season was awesome!:)

I agree that the plot lines this season were too weird. Seems like Betty Applewhite is gone - good riddance. Her story was just plain creepy. (I do like the actress playing her - what's her name again? I hope she gets a job on another top-rated series.)

Mike can't be dead, or they'd have nowhere to go with the spooky dentist. There's a reason Mike was run over, which will have to wait until next season. Besides, while him and Susan can get on my nerves, I like his character. (I wish the writers would just marry them and stop the bickering.)

I feel sorry for Gabrielle, but she has been a selfish twit. She and Carlos deserve each other. Of course, she makes no apologies for being that way, and that gives an odd kind of appeal.

Hopefully, next season will be better.
 
I am a sometimes watcher of that show but what I don't understand is why Tom & his wife (can't think of her name right now) didn't ask for a paternity test. They were willing to fork over 30K without documentation cofirming that he really is the father. Maybe I missed something.

Susan's lights went out because they were on a generator, and it had probably run out of gas (like her romance seemed to 'run out of steam'). It did coincide with her giving up, but she didn't turn them off.

I think Mike's being possibly dead is quite a cliffhanger.

And what Lynette and TOm's life will be like now that the mother of his other child is going to be living with them.

I agree, the dentist story line needs Mike around to come full circle (the dentist knows Mike from jail, but what happened then that made him want to kill Mike?). Also, having Mike die would be too much like the Bree story line from last year. I think he'll be in bad shape for a while.

Though the show is NOT adverse to killing off its male characters!
