Desperate for some new cardio!

OK I adore Cathe but I've done all her cardio workouts so many times I can do them in my sleep. I'm bored & I really really need to mix it up a little. I've tried running & jumping rope, but they both bore me to death. I use machines at the gym but normally don't have time to get there during the week. I just love step & am looking for something as fun & challenging as Cathe. Any suggestions?

Good luck on your quest! I don't know if there is anything out there as challenging as Cathe though. I did Charlene Prickett's "Crazy for Step" this weekend, which is about a 70-min step routine. When I got done, I thought, "did I just work out?" It has some good footwork, but none of the intensity we all love.

Do you run on a treadmill or outside? I love running outside.
 
I think a lot of people like Christi Taylor...but only if you can do complex coreography. The Fantastic Four DVD is a great value at Collage.

I recommend Kari Anderson's Hot Steps and Body Tech. Her United Steps is fun, as well. I'm not as keen on her recent step/hi-lo tape, Push, but the earlier ones are fun.

I just got a new step workout by an instructor named Carole Paradise. It's called Step by Design (www.stepbydesign.com) It is terrific! Really fun - about 45 minutes long - all step! She has been an instructor for about 20 years, but this is first video. I hope she makes lots more!
 
Running doesn't have to be boring. I love running only because I set goals then work toward them. For instance you could find a 5K and set a goal time for yourself and train for it. When that's done find something else.

I do live in an area of Califonia where there's not much difference in the temperature year round but running might be something for you to keep in mind while the weather is mild in New Jersey.

If I were going outside to run just for the cardio benefit I probably would have quit a long time ago. :)
 
The Taebo get Get Ripped series is awesome. I just did it last night and I am sore. I don't like all of his workouts, but this series is awesome. Get the Advanced set. It has 2 Dvd's in it.
