Good Morning Ladies!

Today was B&G Leg Blast and I have one word for it....OUCHx( }( x( Those one legged squats are the toughest for me! I was so glad when we got to the Firewalkers. Ahhh, relief!:) Sorry to complain so much.

Marcy--Are you planning to buy heavier weights? What #?

Deanie--Did you get the Core Synergistics from ebay?

Tracee--Busy season is almost over!!

Have a great day /workout!

Hi ladies.

Just a quick hello and to update you on my week so far. I needed to get in here to get some motivation because I haven't been able to wake up on the cardio or non-weight lifting days. I've been too tired and thinking about cardio just doesn't motivate me to get out of bed. :-(

I have done well on the two upper body weight days though so that's a positive. :)

Hope all of you are doing great. I'm going to try to go back and read what you've been talking about since I've been absent.

take care and don't forget about me. I'll be a chatter box again starting Wednesday!!

good morning

today was David Swenson yoga. I slept late so I ended up doing his 45 min. routine. My treadmill and bike are being delivered today and I really want to use the treadmill! I am thinking Sat. with B&G may be best. Or could I sub the treadmill for KPC? and add ab work? Or maybe I should just bag it and wait till next tues. and do intervals on it? They all seem good to me :) What do you guys think?

Gin- I love B&G! I can't wait to do it:) I went to ebay to bid and realized I have a new email and didn't know my user id, so I have contacted customer support and they'll let me know my user id and password. But now I'm thinking I need to save my $ for Cathes new workouts!!!!!! I wonder when she's going to start the new preorders?

Marcy- How was your yoga today? Did the 90min. go by quickly? Don't laugh- but I printed out a possible rotation to do after the X:) Feb. 07- I thought it would totally shock the body after the X, its like a complete opposite of what we're doing now.

Tracee- Miss you. Hope you are hanging in there:)

Have a great day,
BBL,

Deanie

Hi All!

I just couldn't get myself up this morning so instead of doing Yoga X, I did Baron Baptiste's Power Yoga: The Next Challenge (only 60 mins.) This was a good sub for Yoga X. I actually had a more intense workout in some respects. I think there were a couple of more balance poses which I seemed to do well with. This only has 1 or 2 yoga belly exercises compared to the 7 done in Yoga X. I can't believe I'm doing backbends again. I used to do gymnastics years ago but only recently started doing them again since starting yoga. Can't hold them for very long yet but I'm getting there. Baron doesn't do quite as many warrior poses as Tony which is fine with me. No plough or shoulder stands in this one. I think I actually feel a little more stretched out with this one than Yoga X. I still have to try Baron's Ultimate Challenge. I still feel kind of wiped out and I still have some chest congestion. I feel good working out but by 9:00, I feel like crashing.

Gin: You're funny. I can't believe you were looking forward to firewalkers! Yes, I am planning on buying heavier weights. I really need to get a pair of 15#ers. I'm tired of holding so many weights in each hand. Instead of getting a bunch of new dbbls, I'm going to get plates since I use my DHs short barbells and I won't have to buy as much weight. I'm think I'm going to get:
(4) 10#
(4) 5#
(4) 3#
(4) 2#

I have to check again when I get home bit I think that's what I need.

Tracee: Glad to have you back and to hear you had two good upper body workouts. We look forward to all your chatter. Maybe you could just do an easy, fun, low impact workout for cardio that's not too intense and maybe it won't seem so daunting.

Deanie: How is Swenson's 45 minute routine? Intermediate? Advanced? Balance poses? Stretches? Intervals on the treadmill sound like a good substitute for IMAXes.

So did we like all of Cathe's new workouts? I'll probably go for everything except the low weight, high rep total body workout. I wish she was doing the advanced step sooner but I just got all my new Tracey's so I have enough to work with for now. The boxing one sounds exciting but I might have to wait on that one depending on how much it is. I'm definitely getting the 4 day split and the S&H2. I like the idea of a 4 day split and then I'll add a yoga on the 5th day. I just hope she does some new choreography otherwise I'm going to be disappointed. I really got bored with the choreography in the last series. Except for Drill Max which was so different for me it was fun.

Have a great day everyone. BBL.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Tracee--Hang in there and just do what you can! We look forward to you being able to chat with us real soon!

Deanie--You love B&G?? I guess I should love it.....really I just love it when it's OVER!!;-) I printed Cathe's treadmill interval workout a while back, if you are interested. It would keep you from getting bored on the treadmill. I ran on my yoga day because it worked best in my schedule. I guess if you ran intervals, you could sub for a cardio day. Okay....I'm kind of scared to ask, but....What is the next rotation you were dreaming up? Can't wait for more torture!! ;-)

Marcy--Seems as if you liked Baron B's yoga dvd. I have been more tired than usual lately. Is it because of the more intense workouts?
Firewalkers do not bother me. But all the lunges make my legs (quads esp.!) just scream! I probably need more info before I decide which dvds I would like first....4 day split and S&H interest me. I don't really understand the iPod workouts.

Gin

Gin:

I think these workouts do make you more tired but I'm still not sure since I've been under the weather since I started. I don't understand the ipod workouts either. I really like something I can look at while I'm doing it. Yes, I did like Baron. At first I wasn't sure, but as it went on I liked it more. This one has a lot less warrior poses than Yoga X. I think I have time before dreaming up my next rotation. I'll probably just do all my new ones for the month after the X is over. I'll be looking forward to doing step again by then.

Marcy

Good Afternoon!

The treadmill and bike have arrived:) I hope I can wait till tues. to get on!

Gin- LOL!!!!:) You are too funny about B&G! If you get a chance, can you post the treadmill workouts? I didn't even know Cathe had any. I was contemplating doing Cathes Feb. 07 rotation listed in the rotations forum with the older rotations. It has circuits, m.e. and running (where I can sub the treadmill) all of which we won't be doing these 3 months, so I thought that would really shock our bodies! (but we have plenty of time to decide}( :) )

Marcy- David Swensons 45 min. routine is Intermediate. It has 2 balencing poses, and is an overall good stretch. It also has backbend (where hands and feet are on the floor and your body is like a bow) and the shoulder stand and plough and headstand. It also has a lot of vinyasa's which I like. Its pretty basic and well rounded.

I definately want ALL of Cathe's new workouts and I hope she offers a big discount if you buy all at once, because I would do it:) I don't understand the ipods workouts either x( so I won't be getting those!

Deanie

Hi Deanie/Gin:

Thanks for the review. Sounds pretty good. There are two new yoga workouts I'm definitely interested in getting (both by Shiva Rea, vinyasa practice):

Shiva Rea's Yoga Shakti and
Shiva Rea's Fluid Power

They are both matrix workouts with preset practices and customizable to make your own. I read reviews on Amazon and they both sound great. Thought you might like to check them out.

Marcy

Hi again!
I thought I might get the KPC/L&G dvd today because the seller sent an e-mail Tues. that he had already sent it. But, it didn't come today. So I'll be doing CK tomorrow and save KPC for next week.

Marcy--I have heard others mention on this board Shiva Rea yoga as one of their favorites.
I am going to suggest Cathe gift cert. for all future Mother's Day, birthday, Christmas if anyone asks!!:7

Deanie---Here is Cathe's Advanced Treadmill Workout
I added it up for a total of 71 min.

3.4----4 min.
3.8----4 min.
4.4----4 min.
5.5----4 min.
6.5----5 min.
7.5----10 min.
8.0----5 min. (opt.)
Slow down over 1 min. to 3.8
Raise incline to level 14 and walk uphill for 10 min.
Lower to level 9 and increase speed to 4.8 for 5 min.
Lower to ground level over 1 min.
Then do:
4 interval cycles of 8.0 for 1 min. and 6.0 for 30 sec.
Finish with:
6.0-----2 min.
3.8-----3 min.
3.4-----3 min.
3.0-----4 min.

Gin- WOW! That looks tough! Thanks for posting it. I am printing it out now! I will try it on Tues, my incline only goes to level 12, so maybe I'll get a break:)
