Good Morning!
Today was GS Legs and could you hear me yelling "OUCHIE!"? I will most likely have the DOMS tomorrow! I just don't work my lower body as much and my hamstrings are my weakest part. I have too much to do today to go to swim tonight. We leave tomorrow for our DS's college Parents Weekend. Today is our Spring Music Program at school.

Deanie-- Are you ready for your out of town company?

Marcy--Did you see DWTS vote off? I thought Billy Ray Cyrus should have been the one. I liked Paulina.

Tracee--Did you get a full night's sleep last night? Hope so.

Good morning Gin and all who come after!

Today was DM scrambled eggs for me- but I slept in!!!!! not on purpose, I just couldn't get out of bed! I was up last night till 11 watching LOST, usually I go to bed at 9:30. But it was finally good last night! I will either try to workout after work, or make today my day off and work out with my parents herex(

Gin- I love to hate GS legs! Those slow count lunges get me every time! I am ready as I'll ever be for my company. My cleaning woman is very nice, and she's coming today so the house will look good when my parents come. You should have seen me scrambling to straighten the boys bedrooms last night! You can now see the dresser and desk tops, so I feel good!

Marcy/Tracee- Hope you have a great workout!

Good morning everyone!

Today was GS BSB for me and I increased where I could and did well. I even did all the band work which I didn't do the last time. I'm determined to continue to lift heavier because I've been seeing some good results in my arms lately. I'd like to have nice defined arms this summer.

Gin - I have GS Legs tomorrow and I'm already not looking forward to it. Yikes!

Deanie - Have fun with your parents. Are they staying all weekend? My parents live close and so do my in-laws so we never have to have overnight guests. :)

Marcy - I missed out on the husband conversations yesterday so I will add mine here. My husband is completely out of shape and unhealthy. I'm not sure how much weight he's gained since I met him but it has been a gradual increase over the last 20 years. He occasionally mentions that he needs to eat better and exercise but then he goes back to the same old habits. He doesn't eat healthy, none of us really do though so that's not completely his fault. He's also a smoker so he has a hard time doing any kind of physical activity. He's not huge or obese but he's soft and is bigger around the middle than he used to be. So I can sympathize with you totally.

Good morning ladies!

I woke up a little late this morning so instead of doing GS BS&B I did Melissa Lowe's New Ballet Workout. I still had too much DOMS from Chest & Tris on Tuesday. It was wierd but I had DOMS in my biceps after that but maybe it was from KPC the day before. Anyway, I had a pretty good workout this morning but everytime I do a workout like this, I feel I should be doing it more. I love the feeling of being flexible and ballet certainly helps your leg strength in ways you don't get from regular leg strength workouts.

My DS turned 18 today. I can't believe it. Where does the time go? One minute they're in your arms and the next they're all grown up.

Deanie - Glad you're feeling good today. I wish I had a cleaning woman. My mother used to have someone come in every Friday when I was little and it always so nice to come home to a clean room (although I never really kept it dirty).

Tracee - Glad you increased your weights. Good for you. Are you going to be doing the Faux 90 rotation with us? I think you'll be able to get defined arms from that (that's what I'm hoping for too.) My DH was snacking last night on Tootsie Rolls. He kept asking for one more. I'm actually closer to the candy dish than he is. I should at least make him get up each time if he wants it. What do you think? My DH smokes too but because of his job he smokes more than usual. Hopefully when he gets a less stressful job, he'll start taking better care of himself.

Gin - I yell "OUCHIE" too after floor portion of GS Legs. I wish Cathe would do just a leg workout with just floorwork. Hope your Spring Music Program goes well. I watched DWTS. I didn't vote for Billy Ray last week but I did this week because he was really much improved. I really wanted to see where he'd go in the competition. Paulina was okay but I thought she looked very stiff and I don't think she changed much from last week to this week.

Tracee- good job upping your weights. Do you keep track in a notebook? I hope you are going to do the faux X with us. I think we will get good results.

Gin- I totally missed the spring music program was today! I hope all went well! Have a great time at parents weekend!!

Marcy- Happy Birthday to DS!! Tootsie Rolls are a big weakness for me. I could/would easily pass hershey kisses but I don't know if the tootsie rolls would get past me!LOL I have my kids trained- at halloween they share the tootsie rolls with me:) And yes, it is a wonderful feeling walking in today and the house is CLEAN!!!:) (only happens once a month when she comes- LOL!!!)

So are you taking a total rest day? I'm so glad we finished the rotation. I feel like I have nothing to do now. Do you know of any ballet workouts that have more center work than New Ballet Workout? It only had 3 center exercises. I forget how many were in her Ballet Workout 2 but I know it's a lot longer.

Marcy- I only have 3 ballet workouts, the ballet workout, dance to fitness and the new one my DH got me(haven't used yet). I had NYC ballet workout, and I didn't like it. So I'm not much help there. Yeah, I think I'm taking a rest day, I'm already dressed and showered and I have to take the kids to b-ball practice tonight and I have mahjong, so I just don't have time. Knowing me, I'll just wake up early on Sat. so I get all 6 days in. I'm pretty sure I won't be working out at all next week with company here. I'm glad you feel that way about the rotation....I was hoping I wasn't being a pain:) :) Did you make up charts so you can chart your progress? That would give you something to do:). My DH gave me that idea last night, make up a paper with the excersise and then fill in what weight I used next to it, for all the weeks.

Deanie - Actually the P90X manuals came with the charts so they're all ready. It lists the exercise and gives you room to write poundage and reps. I also figured out what weights I'm going to start with. II can't believe you're taking a total rest week. Not one workout??? And no, you weren't being a pain. It actually got me more familiar with the workouts and the order and such.

I just found 2 DVDs that look good. Ballet Bootcamp and Ballet Bootcamp 2. They both look like they have more center work from the short clips. I have the NYC Ballet Workout Volume 1. It's okay but I don't do it very often. What's the new one your DH got you?

I actually think I have to take a total rest week. Not that I want to, but with my parents here, they interupt me alot when I'm working out, and asking ?'s because they don't know where stuff is, and its frustrating for me, so its easier to not workout. I may try to do the pilates tape I have- its only 20 min. But nothing I have to concentrate on too much- like yoga or Cathe step.

The workout my DH got me is Dancers body by Gaiam. I haven't tried it yet.

Deanie--Isn't nice to have a clean house? Is your family staying the whole week?

Tracee--GS Legs really wasn't that bad. The static lunges (is that what they are called) get me every time...YOW!!

Marcy--Happy 18th Birthday to your son!! Do you actually call in a vote on DWTS? I've never done that. The music program was fine. We seem to practice with the kids for weeks and think they just don't remember the words or what to do and it always comes together in the end. Have you ever done Jennifer Kries Pilates. As if you need another dvd!!! I don't know much about ballet, but I think that is her background.

I'm thinking I may pull out some old Firm tapes next week. How crazy is that?

Hi Gin,

Yes, I call in to vote. They have the numbers listed at the bottom of the screen. However many couples are performing that night is how many votes you get. I think this is a much fairer system than American Idol. The votes are tallied half from the judges votes and half from viewers' votes. No, I've never done a Jennifer Kries workout but I've heard of her. It's always good to pull out old stuff you haven't done in a while. You work some muscles you forgot you had. I'm feeling aches in my back right now from this morning's workout and I usually don't ever feel achy in my back. I think I've given up on lunges, squats and legs presses for good and will be substitute yoga, ballet and pilates instead. It just seems to work for me so much better. I like just using my body weight for resistance.

Okay, DH just got home and is taking the kids to practice. I think I am going to do DM scrambled eggs and still be able to shower before Mahjong! yippee! do you think its ok to workout at 5pm cardio and do PS legs tomorrow morning?

Gin- glad your music program went well, and my parents will be here 9 days starting tomorrow, and my brother and his family will be here just for the weekend!
I've done Jennifer Kries Pilates, and I like her!

Glad you're getting your workout in. I guess it depends on how fried your legs feel in the morning. If you feel all right, then go for it.
