Good Morning Ladies!

I don't own IMAX3, so I did Hardcore Extreme #3 and boy was I worn out!! I had to modify a bit because I know my HR was sky high.
}( :p }( It might have been harder than usual for me because I have changed my diet a little.

Deanie--I saw your post from last night. Thank you for the kind workds of encouragement! How are your allergies today? Is there anything that you can take that helps? I know that must be miserable. If I am taking in about 22-23 points now, is that a good amount? I have averaged 103 gms. of protein. a day. Does that sound okay?

Marcy--I saw the P90X infomercial over the weekend. Is it as tough as it looks, or tougher?}( }(

Tracee--How did you do today with upper body?

Have a great day all!

Good morning ladies.

I had a great weekend and since you didn't see me on the boards that meant it was a beautiful weekend and I was outside as much as possible. Even got a little burnt on my shoulders.

I did legs and glutes on Saturday and I was remembering why I dislike leg workouts at the beginning of this one. I don't mind the ankle weight portions as much though.

Today I did Chest and Back and I've got to say that I'm glad we're done with this one for a while. I increased my number of push ups this time and really pushed myself to do my maximum. However, I'm at my maximum with my dumbbells on some of the back exercises so it doesn't feel like I'm doing enough. I almost bought 20's this weekend but didn't and this morning I could have used them.

I'm going to go back and read what you guys were up to over the weekend and I'll check back later.

Good Morning Gin and all who come after!

Today was the last day of chest and back for a while so I upped my weights and really tried to challenge myself. I had a great workout, but conked out by the end of the tough abs:+ I did 25 pushups of all the pushups except for the last 2 I did 20.
dumbell rows: 27# 8 reps first set, 10 reps second set
1 arm row: 32# 8 reps
pullovers: 30# 8 reps (don't know why I can't increase- this is a tough excersise for me. If I increase, I start to use my arms instead of my back)
back fly: 10# 10 reps 1st set, 12# 10 reps 2nd set

by the time the planks came at the end of the tough abs segment, I was fried. I figured all the push ups work your abs, so I should be okay. I only did 1/2 the planks.

Gin- your diet sounds good. I average 22-24 points, and if I am hungry I try to eat extra protein or a fruit. Sometimes I drive myself crazy trying to find the "right" thing to snack on :) I take benedryl (sp) for my allergies, I think I may need something stronger.

Marcy/Tracee- hope you guys had a great weekend/ workouts :)

Hi Everyone!

Today was Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X. I don't have my worksheets with me but I increased on all my pushups. On the wide fly pushups, I actually touched my chest to the ground on some of them! For back flys, I got up to 14.5 pounds. On lawnmowers, I did 30#. I can just about do one chinup. I'm so close. I did 25 on the standard pushups, less on the others. I try to go at least one rep higher on the pushups each week. I bet after we're done with this rotation, Cathe's pushups in GS Chest & Triceps will be so much easier!

Did Kenpo X last night. This is definitely no where nears as tough as a Cathe kickboxing workout. I think I need to get weighted gloves for this one or maybe I'll put on my ankle weights.

I got new weights on Saturday finally. I got 4 10# plates and 2 5# plates. The only thing I really need is 2# plates but the store said they were part of the barbell set and couldn't sell them so I think I'll have to buy them online. I also got the spring lock clips so it makes it much easier to change the weights. I'll really look forward to having these when I do PUB again.

Today they had an expanded breakfast for Administrative Professionals Week. They had make your own omelet so I had an egg white omelet with red onions, spinach, mushrooms, chicken tomatoes and peppers and orange juice. This was my second breakfast. After my workout, I had a whole wheat wrap with some crabmeat and spinach. Lunch will be a Lean Cuisine meal with shrimp, linguine and broccoli. Don't know about dinner yet. I didn't eat very well this weekend so I have to be good this week. I stayed away from the bacon at breakfast this morning. It was my DH's birthday so I had cake and some pastry. I also had a pina colada because we went to a show for DH's birthday. It was the Machine playing Pink Floyd songs. They were great. Yesterday we went on a motorcyle run so we got plenty of air and enjoyed the sunshine.

Gin: Sounds like you had a great workout yesterday and ate very well. P90X is tough as far as the strength workouts. Cardio is not quite as tough but they are good workouts. If you can do Cathe, you can definitely do P90X cardio workouts. The strength workouts are really tough. Chinups and pullups are the hardest exercises I've done. I hear Chest, Shoulders & Triceps is a killer workout. It has clapping pushups! Ab Ripper X is a tough 16 minute ab workout (I think it's tougher than Cathe's although he doesn't do anything on the ball.) Ab Ripper X is done 3x a week which is more than enough. I like the X because it doesn't use a lot of equipment.

Deanie: Sounds like you had a good workout too. I had problems with my allergies yesterday. My eyes were so itchy, they got really puffy under my eyes.

Tracee: Glad you got to enjoy the beautiful weather. As far as weights, just always remember to go for failure. How many reps are you doing? If you're going for strength, remember only 8-10 reps. Someone at VF actually only does 4-6 reps to go for maximum strength.

Have a great day everyone.

Gin: Hardcore Extreme was actually the first Cathe I bought off ebay. It's one of my favorites and they definitely get my heart rate sky high. Protein definitely helps me. I try to have it with every meal. In the beginning its hard, but the more you plan your meals, the easier it is.

Hi guys. Just had to check back in to let you all know that I purchased the troy lite barbell set a few minutes ago. I hope it doesn't take too long to be delivered. I'm so excited to finally be getting a barbell.

Marcy - I have been keeping all my reps between 8-10 but on most of them I don't hit failure. My heaviest dumbbell is 15 and I have ankle weights that could be as heavy as 5 each but I like to keep them at 3 lbs. Therefore, the heaviest I could go the last two weeks on one arm rows was 21 lbs. I had the two ankle weights on one arm and I was holding the 15lb db. The next time I'm in a sporting goods store I'll definitely pick up some 20 pounders.

Deanie and Marcy - good job on the pushups. I get sick of doing them by the end but it's nice to feel like I can do more than ever before.

Have a good afternoon.

Hi Tracee!

Congratulations on getting a barbell. I think you'll be glad you got one. It's good you're going 8-10, but if you're not going to failure, I would add a few more reps to go to failure. I'm glad I got the plates but I wish I could have gotten dumbbells instead. I did try out a couple of them and when I do get them, I'm definitely going to get hex dumbbells. They felt the best. They were a little more expensive but I think they're worth it.

Good Afternoon :)

Tracee- Congrats on the barbell! I think you will really enjoy it. Especially with the Pyramids! From what I've read, it only takes a few days to be delivered. I agree with you about the pushups. i get tired of doing them also. I am glad next week is a rest week and then we have some new pushups in the rotation. Today was actually the first day I went to failure doing 8-10 reps.

Marcy- sounds like you had a great workout today. I have omelete envy- your omlete this morning sounds delicious. What are chicken tomatoes?

I actually called out of work today, I felt so bad, but sitting around the house isn't helping either. I'm off to CVS to see about changing med. for my allergies.

Deanie

Deanie:

I guess I forgot the comma. It was chicken and tomatoes. Have you thought about getting allergy shots? I don't know what you're allergic to but you might want to consider it. I've been taking them for about 3 1/2 years and outdoor allergies really don't affect me. I have a problem when I'm indoors. Originally, I thought I'd have to move since I am allergic to all kinds of wood and I have wood throughout my house. When I was in Georgia a couple of years ago, the pollen count was the highest in history and I didn't have any problems.

I can't wait until next week either. Have any of you noticed if when your weight goes up, your body fat goes down? I'm actually 1.5 pounds heavier this morning, but my body fat was the lowest it's ever been in the morning.
