Good Morning Girls:)

I was out late last night playing Mahjong and didn't get to bed til midnight (I can't remember the last time I was up so late!!) You won't believe it- but I actually woke up in time to workout!!!!:) I did KPC- and I know I say it every time I do it, but I love this workout! I felt it all over and was thinking of skipping the abs, because I felt it in the abs all thru the workout, but you know me, I did them!:) I don't know about you guys, but with the recovery weeks emphasis on abs and the reg. ab work, my abs are getting stronger, I added on 2 more pikes today just for the fun of it!

I can't wait for Cathes new series (all of them) and keep waiting for the presale announcement. I keep expecting to see something on the home page. I'm an immediate gratification person, and waiting is hard for me:)

Gin-thanks for the treadmill workout, I printed it and posted it next to the treadmill. My DH said he is going to give it a try.

Marcy- what did you do today and how was it?

Tracee- Looking forward to "chatting" with you again soon.

My in-laws are coming for the weekend today. They are coming at noon to take me to lunch. (yum) I am actually looking forward to their visit. Its weird that I get along so much better with my in-laws than my parents. Do you guys get along with your in-laws?

Have a great day
BBL,

Deanie

Deanie--We were starting the thread at the same time. I posted above!
:)
Glad you enjoyed KPC. I am looking forward to getting my copy. Hopefully today. I did CK this morning and am feeling kind of puny. Cough! Cough!:-(
Glad you are looking forward to your in-law's visit. I am closer to my own parents. But my in-laws are very nice. They are divorced and father-in-law is remarried. The "stepmother" is somewhat difficult.

Have a great day!

I refuse to edit- I always do and its so annoying. x( x(
I just wanted to share, that my treadmill has this anerobic program called Sprint 8. It is:
warm up (3min)
interval training (14:30 min)- a 30 second sprint interval: changing both speed and elevation. Seven recovery intervals of one minute and 30 seconds will alternate with the eight 30-second sprint intervals. The sprints will increase with speed and elevation at the 3rd and 5th interval. The recovery speed is about 2-3 mph slower than your sprint and the recovery elevation is 0.
cool down(2:30 min)

This is a 20 min. workout which burns fat and builds lean muscle mass according to Phil Campbell, author of Ready, Set, Go! Synergy Fitness.

I am going to try this tomorrow. So my ? is, do I do all of B&G leg blast premix (47 min.) and then the treadmill, or should I do leaner legs (30 min.) and then the treadmill? I'm not sure what would be better. Or if it even makes a difference.

Thanks,
Deanie

Good Morning Ladies!

Today was Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X for me. I don't know about you guys, but this week is definitely tiring me out. I'm sure part of it is because of my asthma and my chest congestion isn't all gone but I feel it's an intense rotation. I also don't usually do abs 3x a week but I definitely feel them getting stronger. Some people say they don't think P90X has enough legs in it but for me it's enough. Between Plyo X, Legs & Back and Kenpo (kickboxing) plus dancing, I get more than enough leg work. The toughest exercises for me today were the wall squats (killer!). First was squat with legs just above parallel and just below parallel alternating every 15 seconds for 90 seconds. Then there was the single leg wall squat with thighs parallel to the floor, squat with one leg and alternate legs every 10 seconds. Also tough was the chair salutations (2 reps) which you hold for 30 seconds. My glutes and inner things are really achy right now. There was a calf raise squat (go from squat to calf raise). I used 5# here. There were balance lunges (put top of foot on chair and lunge outward with other leg), 25 reps each leg. No problems here. Super skaters (slide leg behind body in skater motion and come up and touch toe for balance or try to come up without touching). No problems here. There were also step back lunges (15 reps each side) and alternating side lunges (24 reps) which I used 5# for. No problems here either. Then there were deadlift squats (Jari does these too) - standing on one leg with other leg bent behind you, squat down and reach for floor (really tests your balance and works your glutes). Then there was a 3-way lunge with kicks. Lunge to the side, at a 45 degree angle and to the front putting a kick after each one (you can kick with a straight leg or ball kick - straight leg is harder.) I was okay here too. Then there was 20 reps of Sneaky Lunge (lunge across floor while staying on toes, in lunge you extend arms up and forward and then back). Good for balance. No problems. Then there were toe-roll iso lunges which is an exaggerated lunge position where you push off ball of foot, rolling onto toe of straight back leg. Knee stays above or behind ankle, never extending over. Then there was the Groucho walk (in low squat position walk forward 4 steps and back 4 steps (feeling it in the glutes and inner thighs again). Then there were 75 calf raises (15 slow, 10 fast in 3 positions (toes out, heels together; feel parallel and toes in/heels out). Calves were burning at the end of this. Last but not least there were 80/20 Cyber-Speed squats (80% weight on one leg, 20% on the other (on tiptoe) and squat at high speed (30 reps per leg) after about half, I was jumping. Mixed in between legs were pullups and chinups. Basically you do two leg exercises and then a back exercise. Pullups and chinups are real tough. I am not able to do any yet. There were 8 rounds of these. I attempted between 2 and 5 on each try and could only go up 1/4-1/2 way.

I won Yoga Zone's Power Yoga for Strength & Endurance on ebay. I'll let you know how it was when I get to it. Maybe on my recovery week when I have to do yoga twice.

Gin - Sorry you're under the weather. Take care of yourself and don't push too hard. As far as friends go, I have one friend that I go dancing with every Thursday night and she also does some DVDs at home. I had gotten her Soul Sweat and gave her some of my old VHS tapes. She liked Taebo.

Deanie - I also love KPC. Good work on the extra pikes. Out of two marriages, I only had to deal with a father-in law from one and mother-in-law from the other of which I didn't have a problem with either. I now don't have any since one marriage ended and my mother-in-law passed away last year. As far as parents, I get along a lot better with my father than my mother. Mom & I have had a kind of on-again, off-again relationship but my father and I have always had a great relationship. He understands me completely and never have a problem talking to him about anything.

Tracee - Come back soon. We miss you.

Have a great day. BBL.

Good Afternoon!

I am achey and tired and TGIF!!
Deanie--Are you running pretty fast during the treadmill workout, except for the warmup and cool down? They both sound tough, but you certainly like a challenge and nothing seems to difficult for you! I have never done Leaner Legs, but heard how tough that one is. It's only 30 min.? I would probably run first and then do the easier (HA!)leg workout.

Marcy--Sounds as if you had quite a workout today. Congrats on winning the Yoga dvd. Do you ever trade on video fitness? I would like to get rid of my Firms for the Cathes I don't have, but can't find someone who has what I want and wants what I have!

Gin:)

Hi Gin!

Yes, I did have quite a workout. I also have an awful pain in my neck. I think I have to get new pillows because I'm really hurting and I couldn't get a good night's sleep. I do trade on videofitness. I've done 3 trades. It is hard to match up exactly but I see a lot of people that still want FIRMS. Just keep checking every day.

Hi guys! I finally found some time to get on the computer at home when no one else in my family was using it.

Today I did B&G leg blast premix. That is one tough workout and if I'm being totally honest I did skip a few of the sets. :p Even doing that I know I'm going to feel it tomorrow.

I'm going to try to get up and do KPC tomorrow but sleeping in sounds good too. We're having a big birthday party tomorrow for two of my kids and two of their cousins so I think I'm going to need all the rest I can get. Ha!

It sounds like you guys are doing a great job on this rotation so far and you're still a great inspiration to me even though I'm not on here as much as I used to be.

I'm very excited for some new Cathe workouts even though my husband thinks I have enough already.

Have a good weekend and I'll try to check in sometime Saturday or Sunday.
