Deanies Rotation Check In Saturday

Good Morning Girls:)

I feel much better today- (thanks for the well wishes) I took medicine all day yesterday and this morning. I was able to do DM, although I sweated buckets! I have to say, although it is still challenging, I think thanks to the strentgh training, it wasn't as hard as it could have been! Doing 10# weights for bicep curls is easier when you've been doing 15#!!:)

I have BC on monday, and then the GS the rest of the week. I've never done a circuit in the same week as GS. I usually do the same weights as CAthe on BC, wondering if maybe I should go lighter since I'm going to be lifting heavy also this week. Any suggestions?
I'm leaning towards going light.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and workout!

Good Morning!

Today was S&H Chest Back and Abs. I have the FitTV version, so I know it is not as challenging as the full version!! Then I walked 4 1/2 miles and ran 1 1/2 miles with my friend. DM was really on my schedule, but I decided I had had enough cardio, so I will save DM for another day.

Deanie--Glad you are feeling better and were able to do DM....that is a tough one!!}( Are you planning on one of the GSs on Tues. after BC on Mon.? I would go lighter on the weights. But, you know a lot more about this than I do!!:D
Yes, I plan on joining you with the faux P90X on April 9th, if I can follow it. I just have a regular 1 disc dvd player, so will I have to constantly be changing the discs??

Question*** Do you girls think that I am hurting my progress by adding more cardio to what Debbie's rotation calls for? She has 2 60 min. cardio days a week and I have been adding walking, running, biking and swimming to that which adds a total of about 3-4 more hours a week. And I typically workout more than an hour a day (but not always so intense)....is that counterproductive also??

Have a great day all!!

Gin- I'm sure you still had a challenging workout today with S&H. Even the shorter version has got to be challenging:)
Okay, thats what I am going to do: lighter with weights on BC. Plus I have MIC tomorrow, I'm sure I'd appreciate the lighter weight!
The way I worked it out with the updated faux P90X rotation, you should be fine with the one disk player. If you want to use PP on the first day, just use the premix noted. If you do GS (which is what I'm going to do) you just pop in GS BSB and use the mix and match feature for back excersises (as noted onthe rotation) pausing after each excersise to do pushups. Thats how I'm using it. Hope that makes sense.
In answer to your ?, you could be, hurting your progress. Sometimes to much cardio can start eating away at the muscle, but I don't really know much about that. I know she purposely did the rotation with less cardio. I think you can get good results lifting as heavy as possible with little cardio. You should try it. the faux rotation next month is also low on cardio. That being said, I think Debbies rotation is a good one and you can see results if you follow it.
And yes, Marcy and I were just "talking" about working out after an hour is counter productive. If it works for you and you are seeing results, then maybe its not counter productive for you. Your funny, because you didn't do DM because it was cardio, but you ran 1 1/2miles and walked 4 1/2miles. Thats alot of cardio!!:)

PS If you need me to repost the faux P90X rotation, let me know, because I did update it.

Gin- just found this reply to someone by fitness freak about adding cardio(from the Jan 07 rotation)

Sure, you can add another day of cardio with this rotation. Some people doing this rotation was concerned that they wouldn't lose enough fat with such little cardio. I advised to just do what they feel is best for them, go ahead and add cardio if you want.

Yes, I only do cardio twice a week even now and I'm keeping my body fat at around 16-17%. I'd like to get down to 15% for summer so I will tweak my diet to do that. I am a mesomorph body type, however, it responds the best to heavy weight training and little cardio. Everyone is different, you have to see how your body responds to certain rotations.

Deanie--Thanks for your quick reply and suggestions. I know that in the past when I have been training for a marathon and averaging 30-35 miles a week (while still lifting) I did NOT lose weight. But I still have it in my mind that if I vary the type and intensity of my cardio, I will lose weight. I am supposedly a meso/endo, but I have very little muscle definition IMO even when I am down to 120 at 5'6". I really would like to get back into running twice a week, but not sure what is best for me!

I did not save your most recent faux P90X, so that would be a great help if you could post again or tell me where to find it. Thanks again for all of your hard work. It is appreciated!!:)

Take care.
