Good Morning Girls :)

Today was Chest and Back and I am feeling it now. It was a good workout. I upped my weights and my pushups. I like how much we get accomplished in a short time. I did Core max section 2 with the stability ball and after all the pushups, the planks on the ball were HARD!!

I was going to do an interval program on the treadmill tomorrow, but I'm going to stick with Imax 3 instead. My legs are still a little sore from Sat. and my hips are feeling funky (maybe I didn't stretch out my hip flexors enough after the treadmill and/or LL.)

Workout stats:
All pushups: did 20 reps, except decline and diamond I did 16 the second time around.
weight work (same each round unless noted)
dumbell row: 25# 10 reps
1 arm row: 30# 10 reps
tback squeeze: 10 reps (I always feel these even though they are the band!!)
BB pullover: 30# 8 reps 1st time, 10 reps second
back fly: 8# 10 reps 1st time, 10# 10reps second time

Gin- which Imax did you do today?

Marcy- How was your workout? Your leg workout looked REALLY hard, did you have major DOMs the next day?

Tracee- Looking forward to "chatting" with you :) Do your kids do baseball or soccer in the spring?

Have a great day and fun workouts!!
BBL,

Deanie

Good Morning!

Today was IMAX2. I just have the FitTV version, so it was 45 min. Tonight is my yoga class.

Deanie--Are your in-laws still there visiting you? I stayed with 10 pushups each rep yesterday. Didn't even think about increasing in number!! With the t-back squeeze with the band, I am doing the same as Cathe....several reps. Is that okay? Sounds as if your boys had a great Opening day at the baseball field. Today is finally our 100th day of school. I think your was in Feb.!!

Marcy and Tracee--have a great day! tell us what you are doing.

Good Morning!

This morning was Chest & Back. I couldn't do it exactly as planned since DH and DS were home because of the storm yesterday. We've been bailing out our basement since yesterday afternoon every half hour! I usually do pullups/chinups in our bedroom door frame but since DH/DS were home, I couldn't disturb them. So here's how it went:

Standard pushups: Round 1: 24, R2: 22 (Up 1 from last week)
Wide Front Pullups: R1: Attempted 3, R2: Did under hand rows: 25.5#, 9 reps
Military Pushups: R1: 15, R2, 12 (went up 1 from last week)
Reverse Grip Chin-Ups: Attempted 3, got up 3/4 of the way on 1
R2: Overhand Rows - 8 reps, 25.5#
Wide Fly Pushups (I'm starting to like these): R1, 16, R2, 17 - up 5 from last week
Closed Grip Overhand Pullups - Couldn't do these so did T-back squeeze with band 12 slow reps, then 4 sets of 7 pulses for both rounds. Used heavy band (switched from medium that I use for Cathe)
Decline Pushups - R1, 15, R2 - 12 reps (up 5 from last week)
Heavy Pants - R1 and R2: 8 reps at 25.5#
Diamond Pushups (am liking these too): R1, 12 reps, R2, 13 reps (up 3 from last week)
Lawnmowers (like 1 arm rows): R1, 25.5# 10 reps (each arm), R2, 27 # 9 reps (each arm)
Divebomber pushups: R1, 11 reps, R2, 12 reps (went up 2 from last week)
Back Flys: R1, 15 reps at 12#, R2, 15 reps at 13.5#

Saturday was a rest day for me. Did Kenpo X on Sunday. Kenpo was not as intense as Cathe. Was only in my zone for 23 minutes out of 62 minutes. I know this wasn't as intense as Cathe but I wonder if I'm getting more fit as well. I can't wait to do KPC after P90X is over to see the difference. My heart rate did get up to 95% though on kicks and 94% on knee kicks and cross uppper cuts with a switching of legs each time. With Kenpo X, I burned 387 calories. With KPC, I've burned up to 520 calories. Kenpo is only 55:45 compared to KPC, which is 68 minutes and also has abs.

I didn't have any DOMS from Legs & Back but this was definitely a good workout for me. For Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X, I burned 410 calories and was in my zone for 42 minutes. Ab Ripper X is definitely a challenge and I'm not used to doing abs 3X a week so I'm definitely feeling DOMS all over my midsection.

Deanie - Glad your DS's Little League had a good game. Sounds like David Swenson has one tough practice. The vinyasa with the pushups - was that on the Short Forms DVD or his Primary Series? Glad you're making use of your new treadmill. Sounds like you're enjoying it and are getting good workouts with it. Sounds like you had a good workout today.

Gin - Thanks for the mini review on Karen Voight Yoga. It's one less I have to buy. How was IMAX 2 for you? What kind of yoga do you do in yoga class? Power yoga or something else? Are you doing anything special for your "100 days of school"? I think pushups will get easier for you. The more you do them, the easier they become. I really used to dread Cathe's Chest & Triceps. I'm curious how I'll feel about this workout once I'm done with the X.

Tracee - Hope you're doing okay. Is today the last day of the rush? Have you been able to workout at all?

I feel like I'm getting stronger even only after 1 week. So far this program is awesome!

Have a great day. BBL.

Marcy

Hi girls!

I'm on my lunch break so I thought I would take some time to catch up with you guys.

I did manage to get a KPC workout in over the weekend so I felt good about that. This morning I did the chest and back workout again. I felt a little more comfortable with it this time and it flowed more smoothly. I need to get 20# dumbbells because I don't feel like I've been pushing myself with this workout. I followed up with abs from MIS. I was looking for something that I hadn't done before and that was it. I'm going to feel those tomorrow.

Gin - I also follow Cathe on the band work during the t-back squeeze.

Deanie - When do you do the decline pushups? I don't think they're on the schedule so do you just throw them in during the regular ones?

My older son is playing baseball with two teams but games haven't started yet. My younger son is playing soccer, first game is this Thursday and he'll play baseball later in the spring/summer. It's going to get very busy with their sports starting this week but I love that kind of busy.

Just today and tomorrow left of tax season and then I'll be on the boards all day. Ha! Tomorrow I should have some time to talk too because it shouldn't be busy all day.

I wanted to add that you guys have helped me a lot and I really have seen some changes in my body the last few months. I wanted to say that you guys have been a great source of motivation and inspiration and I could never have done it without you. :7

Tracee

Hi again!

Tracee - Glad to have you back. Glad you were able to do KPC. I love that workout! I look forward to having you back on the boards full time. Glad you're seeing such great changes. All of you have been great support to me too. Hope your kids have a great year with their teams.

Wanted to add that with these different kinds of pushups, I'm actually feeling DOMS more in my biceps than chest. I guess each pushup targets a different area.

Good Afternoon :* (always want to use that smilie and never know when to-LOL)

Gin- My in-laws left early yesterday because of the weather. We had a very nice visit! And I'm glad the weather held off. I followed Cathe with the band work last weeek and this week just did 10 reps with the band. I wasn't sure myself what to do. I did tighten up with the band today. I can't believe today is 100 days for you!! We are up to 130! Did you have a fun celebration? What kind of things did you do? Don't you love how excited the kids get about it? :)

Marcy- It sounds like you still had a great workout today, even though you had to vary your program. I love how enthusiastic (sp.?) you are about this program! I hope you get the results you are looking for. David Swensons Primary Series is the one with the vinyasa's with the pushups. It is really tough, but you also generate alot of body heat, so you get a really good stretch! I will be doing it on Thursday if I wake up in time. (I have to be at work at 8:15 on Thurs.)I am so sorry to hear about your basement!! I hope it has stopped raining and the worst is over.

Tracee- Glad you were able to check in!:) I do the decline pushups after the tback with the band (it is on the rotation) I'm glad we helped you stay on track. I know you all keep me pushing!! I like the support!

Someone just posted as I am :)

Deanie

eta: marcy, glad you posted about your biceps- me too!

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Marcy--Sounds as if you had a great workout! I did enjoy IMAX2 and my HR was certainly up there with the intervals, but I might like to have the full version some day. When I would do C&T I would always do all 72 pushups on my knees. With this rotation I am doing all 120 pushups as negative. So I guess I am making a little progress!:p Our 100th day was fun, but I didn't do that much. We had so many other activities planned today. I decorated the doorway, read a 100 day book, and each child brought 10 items from home that I counted and then counted by 10's to reach 100.
So sorry about your basement. How is it coming? I did hear on the news about all of the rain in your area!

Tracee--Great to have you back with us!! I agree with your statement....You guys have helped me so much with the rotations and the advice and have certainly made exercising more fun and challenging.:D

Deanie--I have a funny pre-school story..... Last week one of the boys came up to me and gave me a sweet hug and then I could tell that he wanted to kiss me. I kept turning my head so he could kiss my check, but he kept moving my face so he could get me on the lips. I quickly said "You only kiss your family". He said, " Well, Sam (another boy in the class) told me to." KIDS!! You gotta love 'em!
