Cathlete
Good Morning All:)

Today was Imax 2. I don't know why, but it was pretty easy for me, I'm wondering if it was because last month I did such intense cardio 2 times a week. Anyway, I actually enjoyed it.:)

Today is the first day in a long time I have the house to myself!!!!Yippee!!! Hubby at work, kids at school and parents gone!!! And no school at the nursery today so I know I won't be called in to work:) I still have a busy day, food shopping, laundry, some cleaning, and getting my kitchen back to normal since passover ends at lunch today. But it will be fun to turn up the music and do it all in my time frame. (I will be taking a nice leasurely lunch with tea afterwards as I read my book!!!LOL)

Tracee- any DOMs from yesterday?I am only slightly sore in my upper back today. How was Imax 2 for you?

Marcy- How ARE you? Feeling better I hope! Did you end up working out yesterday?

Gin- I am dying to know how todays workout went, did it flow? I am going to reprint (next post) the entire faux rotation- final copy, so you have it:)

Have a good day all!
BBL,

Deanie

Deanie

Good Morning!

Deanie--Glad that you enjoyed IMAX2 today. It is nice sometimes to have the house to yourself! Enjoy it! Your parents came for a long visit.:) Thank you for re-posting the entire rotation!
I did the 3rd day today (Sh, Bi, Tris and Abs) I spent a total of 80 min. altogether with warmup and stretch. When I came to the dips with BB in lap, I didn't see that option, so I just did a set on my own. Also, not sure if I did the correct number of bicep curls on the ball. I forgot to do just reg. curls and then just hammer curls. I followed what Cathe did. I wasn't counting, but it was ALOT of curls. I did MM abs and adding CTX Kickbox planks for 15 min. of abs.

Marcy--Hope you are feeling better!! Let us know.

Tracee--Have a great workout! IMAX2, right?

Gin:)

Gin- 80 min is long! i didn't realize it would be so long. Did you use the SS premix for upper body? I was looking at PP and I think I am going to program it using the workout blender option. you can program 6 excersises to play consecutively. I will progrram it twice. You were right to add the dips with BB in your lap on your own. It was a substitution. I guess this week will be a "learning" week for us. I hope your not too sore after all those curls!:)

I am changing things around this week because my in-laws are coming on Fri. So fri. I will do KPC or CK and Sat. I am going to do legs- probably B&G.

Hi Everyone!

First, thanks for all your good wishes. I am feeling better but am not pushing myself too hard. Took the day off from work yesterday and went to the doctor. Got stuck there for over 3 hours! He did give me plenty of meds though to clear up the chest congestion. I'm on antibiotics and prednisone (steroids). The prednisone really helps to open up the lungs. I've had asthma for about the last 5 years. Went to the hospital once before. Usually when the temperature goes below 40 degrees, I have a hard time. My DH asked the paramedics about that and they said they see lots of weather-related cases. My DH was funny. He's telling the Dr. in the ER: "I don't get it. She's healthy, takes vitamins, eats well, works out, weight lifts and she's in here when I'm 75 pounds overweight and smoke." DH used to have asthma, bronchitis, allergies when he was a child and now he's fine. Now I'm stuck with it.:( It was pretty scary but I think the last time I sent to the ER was worse. Now for what I've done so far:

I didn't know how far I'd be able to go yesterday so I started with Ab Ripper X. It's 11 ab exercises, some more intense than others. Basically every exercise contains 25 reps except for the Mason Twist of which I did 40 (some people in the video do 50 for a bonus). These are done by lifting your knees in the air and twisting your body from side to side touching your hands to the floor on each side as you twist. I was wondering why my whole rib cage was hurting this morning. Ab Ripper X is awesome.

Next, I did Chest & Back. I was only able to do one round because my SIL called and then I had to rush to the doctor. Here are my weights & reps:

Standard Pushups - 23
Wide Front Pull-ups (hard!) Attempted 4
Military pushups - 14
Reverse Grip Chin-up - 1 and 1/2
Wide Fly Pushups - 12
Closed Grip Overhand Pullups - did 3 halfway up
Decline pushups - 10
Heavy Pants - 8 reps at 25.5#
Diamond Pushups - 10
Lawnmowers - 8 reps at 25.5#
Divebomber Pushups - 10
Back Flys - 10 reps at 12# (next time I'll do 8 with 13#)

Today was Plyo X. Not as intense as Cathe's Imaxes, but still an extremely good workout. Was in my target heart rate zone for 59 minutes. Burned 432 calories. Actually, this is about how many calories I burn with the IMAXes. The IMAXes usually send me to over 90% of my Target Heart Rate but Plyo X got me up to 88% which is fine with me. Each exercise is about 30 seconds long. He does 4 exercises - 3 that are 30 seconds and the 4th which is a minute. He then repeats the cycle. There are 5 cycles like this and then a bonus round. All the exercises are athletic style drills. I went a little easy on things like tuck jumps. He did a circle run where you just put your towel on the floor and run around in circles each way. That got my heart rate up. He also does an exercise called hot foot where you're hopping on one foot making a cross with your hops, up, back, left right.

Believe it or not, exercising actually helps my breathing. I think because I'm controlling it better. When you're wheezing, your breathing is totally out of control. I think yoga will definitely be helpful as well.

I have to DH to take my pictures tonight. With all the drama, I never got to ask him.

Gin: I agree with Deanie. KPC abs are definitely one of my top 3 favorites as well. Wanted to let you know I got Baron Baptiste's Ultimate Challenge (Level 3). I might sub these in for Yoga X here and there. I hate to say it, but clean eating is a must. Exercise is great but clean eating really helps you lose. I know it's hard, but toss out the junk. I saw Kelly Ripa on Shape. Her arms look great. The rest of her looked pretty good too. I saw Valerie Bertinelli on the commercial with Kirstie Allie. I didn't realize how much weight she gained. I hope she gets back to her normal weight. She used to look so great.

Deanie - One of my Capris (tan khaki) has a wide cuff on the bottom. I also got a pair last week (same ones but green khaki). They're kind of like gauchos. They're so comfortable and they look great. Wore them to dance class and everyone loved them. The other pair is like an off white. They're like cargo pants. I can't wait till it's warm enough so I can start wearing them. You should try ebay for Core Syn, but you should know that it is also possible to buy individual workouts from Beachbody. I think each one is $20. I think Core Syn is definitely worth it though.

Tracee - Hope you're having a good day and have a great workout.

Sorry for the long post guys. Had a lot to report. BBL.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Deanie--I just used the Mix Match option and went back & forth, but I can't imagine that it added that much time. I'm curious to see what you come up with tomorrow. I t was exactly 60 min. BEFORE the abs.

Marcy--Glad you are feeling better!:) I think I've seen the Mason Twist on the infomercial. You did mucho pushups!! WTG!! What are Heavy Pants and Lawnmowers? Funny names. My Fit TV version of KPC does have the abs section. I love the pikes on the ball. I really have no junk in the house to throw out....HONEST!
So far I've had...
B--multi-grain hot cereal with soy milk, orange, 1/2 T. natural p.b.
L--V-8, tuna, berries, cheese stick, green tea
Sn-- Pria bar

I have a question for you guys. I really want to do this rotation correctly to see results. But I would like to still run 3 miles once a week, so I don't have to start all over at some point to get to 3 miles again. Would this be okay? And is there a particular day I should run?

Thanks,
Gin

Good Afternoon

Marcy- I'm glad you are feeling better! I will try and go to the website and see about ordering the one dvd. Thanks.

Gin- I guess you are right, I'm just bummed its not an hour workout like mondays. After an hour, I tend to lose interest (to long of a time for me to workout and I start thinking of all I need to do that day:) )

Funny you should ask the running question. With the new treadmill coming I was going to add a 30 min interval walk/run on Sat after legs. I agree with why you still want to run, and think you should run. I would add a run on day 1 or the yoga day.

Your eating looks good. How many points a day do you have? If you were able to eat a snack between breakfast and lunch I would suggest the 1/2 T of PB and a cheese stick instead of having them with the meals. Does that make sense? How much protein does the pria bar have? I try to have 11 or more grams of protein in my bars.

Deanie

Hi again!

Gin - I find I'm really liking all the different varieties of pushups which is amazing because when I started with Cathe I could hardly do any. But if it wasn't for Cathe, I don't think I would have able to do as much as I do now.

Sounds like your diet is pretty good. Today I had:

Breakfast: Egg whites with tomato and onion on Arnold Double Fiber bread
Snack - Fiber One Bar and reduced fat 1 oz. string cheese
Lunch - Lean Cuisine Shrimp in Garlice Sauce with Broccoli
Snack - Light N Fit Yogurt (no fat) and almonds
Dinner - Chicken and ?

All right, I just cheated. It was someone's bday in the office and I'm having a red velvet cupcake. I know I'm being bad but I don't think it will do too much damage.

In P90X, there are 3 rotations. The Classic (which I'm doing), the Lean which is a more cardio-based program and slightly less intensive. What you sacrifice in overall gains in strength and speed, you'll make up for with positive changes in lean body mass. Then there is the Doubles rotation for people who want more cardio, either for performance or weight loss. For Doubles, an extra cardio workout is added 3x a week. The extra cardio is usually done in the morning and the strength workouts in the afternoon or evening. I would run on one of the strength days.

Deanie: I agree that 60 minute workouts seem to work the best for me. Day 1 for me came out to 1 hour and 9 minutes so I think you guys are fine. The Chest & Back workout was 52:50 and Ab Ripper X is 16:07. I would still check ebay for Core Syn. You might find it cheaper. Just make sure they don't charge a fortune for shipping. I usually don't like to get anything where the shipping goes above $4.00. It doesn't cost much to mail 1 DVD. The last DVD I got it only cost $1.11 to mail and the seller charged me $2.00 so I thought that was pretty fair.

Marcy

Gin: I forgot to answer your questions.

Lawnmowers - You do a side lunge and rest your elbow on your bent leg. Pull weight from floor to waist (like you're starting the lawnmower, get it?) Same thing as Cathe's one arm rows.

Heavy Pants - With one foot forward and bent knees, bend at waist, keeping back flat. Lift weights from forward foot up to waist, keeping elbows close to sides. You can also do this with a band by twisting it in a small loop, then step on center with front foot and perform same movement as above.

Marcy

Marcy--Let me know how you like Baron Baptiste's Yoga. I know Deanie will cringe when she reads this, but I think I like his yoga the best. I have Level 2. How long is Level 3? 2 is 60 min. which is a little too long for me with a yoga tape. I get bored.x(
Are you bidding on IMAX3 on ebay. I noticed the highest bidder was "Marcy" and I don't want to bid against you!:D
