WOW! What a workout this morning! I did the preprogramed "fat burner" program on the treadmill. It is intervals and raises and lowers the elevation. I did level 8, the highest speed is 5.5 and the highest interval is also 5.5. I am still on a "high" from it! It was the best cardio workout I've had in a loooong time! Using the ipod to workout with was AMAZING too! I highly recommend it for treadmill workouts! I did it for 45 min. The cool down was only 5 min., I think it could have been longer though, I walked around for a few min. after I got off the treadmill. I also did stretch max, segment 3 to stretch out with afterwards. Its my favorite stretch!

A fun weekend, kids had friends over on Sat, and Sunday was spent at the pool. I hope you all had a fun weekend!

Marcy~ The last week of the X! You did it!!!!Can't wait to see the pictures!

Tracee~ I hope your baseball games this weekend were fun, and your sons recovery is getting better!


I don't know about you guys, but I love to cook, and I try to do a vegitarian meal at least twice a week. Here is our new favorite meal~(Its fast, easy and light for the summer)

3 bean Pasta
1 pund egg noodles: med. or wide (I use the whole wheat ones)
15 ounce can dark kidney beans (rinse and drain)
15 ounce can chick peas (rinse and drain)
1 cup frozen cut green beans thawed
1 small red onion chopped
1 small red pepper chopped ( I use 1/2 a red pepper)
3T chopped fresh parsley
3T dijon mustard
3T red wine vinegar
2T veg oil

Prepare pasta and drain
rinse under cold water and drain again
In a large bowl stir together: Pasta, all beans, onion, bell pepper
In a small bowl stir together: remaining ingredients
combine small bowl into large bowl, toss and serve
Makes 4 servings
(and for those of you doing WW, its a huge serving, and only 6 points!)

Good Morning Ladies!

Today I ran 3 miles and then did S&H Chest, Back and abs and then tacked on the tricep portion. We are again going out of town on Thursday, so I am having to revise the schedule.

Do you girls use lifting gloves? I have never owned any, but wondered about them.

Deanie--Congrats on the great treadmill workout. Sounds like a good one. And thanks for posting the yummy sounding recipe. My son (he has been coming over for dinner a few times a week since he now working here) and I are both trying to eat better and lose weight. He gained a lot of weight in college :-( but has lost 15 lbs. so far and looks great. He wants to lose 20 more.:eek: That may be too much.

Tracee--Good job on the HSC!! Did you decide to do PH yesterday? How did you sons do in their games yesterday?

Marcy--Last week of the x and recovery week too!!

Hello Ladies!

Yes, today is my last recovery week. I decided to do Baron's Next Challenge. Had a great workout. I don't know about hot yoga, but this practice definitely warms me up quickly. I've definitely thought about doing bikram and being warm definitely loosens up the joints but I don't know if it would be too hot. I think it's supposed to be at about 95 degrees. Someone on my other check-in went to one and she said it was definitely too hot for her. I might try it one day but for now I'll stick with my power yoga.

Gin - Congrats on getting Step Fit & Step Works. These are my two favorites on that DVD. Power Max is too athletic for me.

Deanie - Sounds like a great treadmill workout! You're actually making me almost want a treadmill. I guess the ipod helps in relieving some of the boredom.

Tracee - Great work on matching Cathe's weights. A day or two of rest definitely gets you recharged. Congrats to your DS on his victories.

Has anyone checked out Cathe's July rotation? I haven't yet but I think I'll do Debbie's rotation as I said last week.

Hi Again!
Marcy-- I have checked out Cathe's July rotation and it looks like it is all shorter pre-mixes. I would rather do Debbies' as we had planned originally, if that is okay with you guys. I feel the same about trying hot yoga as you do. Not so sure!:p

Hi Again!

Forgot to mention that I made up Ab Ripper X on Saturday. Did about 2/3 of Kenpo yesterday and finished up the last 1/3 today after yoga. I feel better that I made up all the workouts I was missing.

I will definitely be doing Debbie's rotation as planned. Cathe's sounds nice but not for right now.
