Day After BootCamp...Weights or Cardio?

MuscleGuy

Does BootCamp (the original BootCamp, not the 4DS one) count as a cardio or weight workout? Since it is both, I am not sure how to fit it into a rotation.

What should I do the following day....cardio? or is it OK to do weights?

Help!:(

MuscleGuy

I would do cardio.
Maybe step, as it would provide different moves from the BootCamp-style workout.
You could also do a lower body or upper body weight workout if you do BC going light on weights (though, IMO, it's kind of a waste of a workout that way).

Hi MucleGuy,

I posted a similar question a few months ago, and some people responded by saying that it was OK to do weights the next day, as long as you keep your weights light when you do the Boot Camp workout, thinking of it more as a cardio workout than a circuit workout. If not, then they definitely suggested moving to cardio the next day since you don't want to overtrain/overwork your muscles.

During one of the weeks that Boot Camp was in my rotation, I also ended up skipping over the shoulder sections since I knew that I would be working shoulders the next day in the Slow & Heavy Shoulders workout. This could be another way to approach things.

Hope this helps! I'm sure others will chime in!

Thanks, guys...

I definitely want to use heavy weights for Boot Camp, so I will follow it up with cardio the next day. Probably Kick Max.

MuscleGuy

That sounds like a good idea! You'll still get some leg work in if you do the drills in KickMax, but it'll give the rest of your muscles time to re-build.

Take care,
Leanne
