The dreaded question....? I know we've heard about a fall, 2009 release for STS-SC. Fall begins next week and IIRC rehearsals are underway. With filming, production, and all of the steps needed to complete a series, is a fall arrival still in the cards?

Oh PLEASE don't flame me for this - and yes I know I have a lot of other Cathe vids to carry me through, but I am trying to plan out an STS weight and cardio rotation and hoping that the original speculation by SNM is still accurate. Any ideas?
 
Thanks Erica for that link. Like you, it's not that I'm not willing to wait - I like being able to plan a rotation - esp with something as big as an STS one with both the weights and the cardio. Your thread was the first I'd seen mention of a Feb (I presume it should be 2010 not 2009) reference. Guess I won't be banking on a full STS endeavor when I originally thought.

Yes, we still plan on and fully expect to release Shock Cardio this Fall. Though we never make timeline guarantees, things are on schedule and we currently have plenty of time to spare to release Shock Cardio this Fall. Just to ease your mind, we could probably film as late as November 15th and still ship Shock Cardio this Fall.

It is obvious that you have been a long time Cathe fan since you have a date of Dec 1999 joining the forum. Because of that, I know you are a big Cathe fan and must truly like her workouts to be a loyal customer.

I don't fault you for asking, it is our right as paying customers when something is not being delivered as expected. And I didn't find you attacking Cathe or her staff in your question - you seemed to be as someone who just wanted an update since Fall 2009 is unlikely.

I am willing to wait. That's not a big deal and it doesn't seem like you are unwilling to wait. Again, it just seemed to me that you just wanted to know HOW much longer you had to wait.

No big deal. I do applaud you however, for sticking to your guns on the other post. And even if it is a "common practice" for companies in the software business to not produce something as promised - it still does not make it right.

SNM - no flaming here - you are great! But Cathe has some die hard fans that would rather wait for her product than get another one. I for one am not ordering the Insanity workout put out by someone else that seems to be a close comparison according to other members and am patiently awaiting STS Cardio, but I will not fault another forum member for inquiring.

I'm wondering what I wrote that made you think I wanted to know how much longer I had to wait. I haven't looked back at my thread, but IIRC I wanted to know if there was a delay in the STS project. As a customer who pre-ordered in March, I think that was a valid question. Especially after Chris had said in June that the September filming date was untrue, but now it's mid-September and there is still no filming date announced.

Shock Cardio release date

To be clear what I said back then was that no filming date had been set. I never said that we were filming before or during September and I have never mentioned any film date whatsoever. I simply wanted everyone to know back then that a filming date had not been decided upon or even discussed and reports that a date had been set for September were not true.

I realize that a lot of people logically think a production begins with filming, but this is not true. The hardest and most time consuming part of any video production is the rehearsal phase which we’re in now. Mistakes are not only costly, but they also cause serious delays in editing and authoring. One of the main reasons we built our own filming studio is so Cathe can tweak and perfect her routines before filming begins. We own our own filming studio, so it doesn't take a lot of advanced planning to schedule a shoot. Time spent now perfecting the workouts not only makes for a better product for you, but also makes the filming and editing phase go much more quickly.

I didn't mean to speak for you so sorry if you took it that way. I just felt from reading your thread last week that you were only looking for an update, that is all. It didn't sound to me like you were unwilling to wait - again, just wanting an update, which as I stated you should be able to ask since you are a customer.

My intention was only to support what you were saying as I felt you had every right to ask and again I thought I was supporting you when you questioned the answer you were given.

Sorry for not making my point clear :confused:.

Chris, you stated this back in June:

"The Cathe Tour is mainly a 2010 event. The only tour date scheduled for 2009 is Daytona Beach and this is a one weekend event and will not take any significant time away from the STS Shock Cardio project. If things go as planned we will have finished the filming, editing and authoring of STS by then anyway and you might even have your DVDs."

The tour is October 23rd and your plan was to have STS filmed, edited and authored by then - is that still true or is there a delay as I have asked?

No problem Erica. It just seemed in the past that when someone questions delivery of a product, so many people jump on the person that asked as if they commited a cardinal sin.

I just didn't want that to happen to you and wanted you to know you had some support out here!

Erica, as I have said before there are currently no delays in the filming of Shock Cardio and we still plan on releasing Shock Cardio this fall. Things can always happen, like an injury to Cathe (knock on wood), but we honestly don’t see any problems with releasing Shock Cardio this fall.

Yes, several months ago I said we hope to have everything finished by the EB tour and we still do, but this is not a firm date or a milestone that has to be met to meet our fall release. It is simply what we hope to do. The point of the post was to let everyone know that the EB Tour would not delay the production of Shock Cardio as some people feared that Cathe would be on tour for a long period of time.

Hi - lurking forever here, but I thought I'd add that Brenda just completed a full ironman triathlon this past Sunday, so maybe she needs to recover a bit before filming starts?
 
Thanks Chris for the update -- as always, you are wonderful and give us so much information! I, too, am so excited about getting the new DVDs, but I will wait as long as it takes because I know that the final product will be a superb, high quality workout that I can work out to for years to come. I have workouts from other instructors who don't put the time and effort into what Cathe does and I just wind up never using them. I always go to Cathe because I love her as an instructor and because she puts so much effort into the workouts. I'm going to sit patiently and wait!

Ditto that! They are ALWAYS worth the wait and ALWAYS the workouts I grab over and over! I can't wait! (well I can - but you know... :) )
