Damage Control!!!

Glad you are getting in good w/o's in the pool. I should've started swimming for tri-training but my tri partner isn't participating this year. I'm not sure if I have it in me to do it alone. How did the sweet potato rounds with lentils turn out?
The scale is finally moving in the right direction. It's really been a struggle. I don't usually lose much with the cleanse. For me it's more about learning to incorporate more vegetables in new ways into my diet.

Yesterday I did LIHI legs with the 10# vest at lunch. It was pretty exhausting getting through it. Glad I pushed through though. Today I did a BR w/o in the morning and GS C&T at lunch. I hope to walk in a bit. My fitbit died and I didn't notice so none of my cardio counted this morning towards my step goal. Oh well, I swapped them out at lunch.

B-post workout protein shake

L-protein pancake w/ 1/2 C mixed berries and 2 Tbs lite syrup

That recipe is a keeper! I used 3 sweet potatoes and 1 cup lentils and increased all the sauce items. I love leftovers for lunches. DH liked it and agreed. For the slaw I used up some cabbage I had on hand and used some whole30 mayo instead of cashew cream. I have my shopping and prepping figured out for Sunday.

You are getting great workouts in! Doubles plus eating clean and you'll be losing those few last pounds.

I did CTX kickbox and all the weight work for my shoulder and all my stretches yesterday. Haven't decided about later today. I might do the ICE workout with the chest. I think I'll try wall push ups (push againsts?)

Gotta get to work-bbl

Beth

I ate ground beef for dinner on Friday and it didn't sit well with me. I spent most of day in bed on Saturday catching up on my recordings from my trip. I did my shopping Friday night but still have a few things to pick up today. I'm finally feeling better today and plan on working out. Tonight will be food prep. I'm actually looking forward to it. Hope you had a great time at PSU with your son!

Day 1 of the cleanse!

I definitely need it...gained 2 lbs. over the weekend. I didn't work out Friday or Saturday. We had a great visit though with DS2 and the dog. He still doesn't know what he's doing this summer. I would like it to already be figured out...but I'm not in control!

I am doing the Strawberry Coconut smoothie for breakfast. I really like the snack recipes, too.

Yesterday I took a bike ride for 64 minutes! First ride since I've rehabbed my hip. It was great. No pain and no pain this morning. I have a feeling I'll do a lot more rides this year.

Sorry to hear the meat didn't sit with you. Our bodies are not used to digesting meat the more greens and veggies we eat! Hope you feel better.

Beth

Yay, I'm glad your hip is feeling good enough to ride again! I struggle with not knowing what my kids are doing too. Seriously, I have 27 yr old in the house who has never moved out. My 21 yr old works a minimum wage job and is only taking 2 classes this semester.

I didn't workout at all this weekend. My stomach is still upset. Of course, DH smoked a roast yesterday and I had a bit of that for dinner. After doing whole 30 and learning to pay attention to how I feel after eating certain foods, I'm starting to think that my body doesn't like beef. I also had a glass of wine, maybe it's that.

I prepped almost all the meals yesterday which is new for me. I usually prep some, but this time I also prepped all my smoothies and have them in the freezer too. I should be able to put most of the meals together pretty quickly.

I've been doing great with the meal plan. Last night I had the sweet potato rounds and lentils. It was delicious! Today will be a BR w/o in the morning and Chest/Triceps/Abs at lunch. How are you doing?

I agree, I really like this meal plan. It's doable once you get organized. Glad you liked the lentil dish. I had that today with some butternut squash cubes I picked up and roasted. Tonight for dinner is salad. Monday I did Drill Max scrambled cardio and yesterday I went to the pool. I'm taking today off. I'll probably go back to the pool tomorrow. I get a total body workout in it and I like the upper body aspect of it better than a lot of weights right now.

Watching Liverpool right now-they are up 2-1 vs. Bournmouth!!

Beth

No workout to report for today. My tummy is rebelling from all the beans and grains. I don't normally eat beans ever and only occasionally have quinoa or lentils. This is just too much for me at one time. I'm drinking mint/ginger/lemon tea instead of eating dinner. I may freeze my two bean dishes and make a couple meals from week 2 instead to finish out this week.

Yes, I have tummy rumbling, too. I thought it was from all the extra fiber in the smoothies! That's a good idea to see if doing some of week two meals helps.

Yesterday was pool, and today I'll take off. I slept terribly last night.

Beth

I'm so looking forward to the week 2 meals and no beans or grains. I shopped yesterday, only spent around $60 on the cleanse food. Plus I have some food left from last week. I'm going to make the asparagus stir fry for the family tonight since I have so much stuff. Oh, and I've decided not freeze the smoothie packs. I'm just going to throw them together each morning.

I wasn't feeling well yesterday so I didn't workout. Not sure about today yet. I have a cut/color apt this morning.

What have you been up to?

Diana,

I did Butts and Guts on Friday and my legs are still screaming. Have you done that one lately? I did the Leg Blast premix of 47 minutes. I could not do the last set of lunge/squat combo. Sat. I did Rockout Knockout to the best of my ability-no squats at all. It's supposed to be 65 here today so we're going for a bike ride!

Are you finding that you're less hungry on the cleanse? Maybe it's the scheduled snacks because the last couple of days I'm finding that I'm just not as hungry as usual! I shopped yesterday and plan to prep tonight. I did not freeze bags for the smoothies-just the fruit that goes in.

What color is your hair now? How short did you go? Mine is getting a lot of knots on the ends-I may need to go shorter next time I get a cut.

Happy Prepping!

Beth

I'm a natural red head, more strawberry blond. My hair has faded with age and now have some stray grays. I just have add highlights and low lights to bring out my natural color of my younger days. :) I haven't done B&G in a very long time. Maybe I can do that one today. Let the prep begin!

Hi Diana,

It sounds like you hair is lovely! I have yet to color mine. It's getting lots of grey highlights! I did the pool yesterday and will end up taking today off work. I'm actively looking for a new job. My job has gotten so stressful. I have so many people coming at me for things all day. I didn't take lunch until 2:15 today. I was so stressed it would have been hard to eat earlier anyway. Anyway...how is it going working from home? Are you doing any races?

Let me know what you're up to!

Beth

I wasn't feeling well over the weekend so I didn't workout. I'm struggling get back to my afternoon weight work. I'm keeping up doing BR in the morning. Sometimes I just get out and walk at lunch. It's nice to get out of the house. Oh, and I usually call and chat with my son in San Diego while I'm on my walk. Yesterday was a BR w/o in the a.m. and then I took the class at the gym at 4:30. This morning was a 75 minute tough BR w/o and a short walk at lunch. I might walk the graffiti run and color run with my friend (tri-training) partner. I'm considering doing a short triathlon (300 m swim-12 laps, 12 mile bike ride, 2 mile run). Other than that, I don't have anything planned. My knee doesn't cooperate much anymore so running is very minimal if at all.

How is the cleanse going for you? I'm really happy to be done with week 1. I should've done week 2 twice. Bloating is starting to subside a bit. Is there another nearby hospital you could work at? I hope you find something soon.

Hey Beth, how are you doing? How's the job search going? Any leads?

I've lost my weight lifting mojo. I did get in a BR w/o at lunch, and it wasn't pretty. We were rudely awaken at 4am by ALL of our fire alarms going off. They finally turned off on their own after about 7 or 8 minutes. I was pretty exhausted today but did the best I could. My w/o calendar has too many off days on it. I need to get myself back on track. At least I'm doing pretty good on the cleanse. Although I did have a pre-made protein shake yesterday and one today.

Hi!

I'm in a funk-feeling like all I do is stuff I HAVE to do. Does that make sense? I'm tired of everything! Anyway...DH has heard enough about it. I am really liking the dinner recipes this week. Cauliflower is one of my favorite vegetable (that and cabbage) so I'm really enjoying it. Eating wise is ok. With all the snacks I'm not hungry! Workouts-I tried to wear my vest yesterday on my walk and started feeling strain in my back/hip so I got back home and took it off after 11 minutes. Then stretched a LOT! I'm still feeling a bit off today.

Heading out the door...bbl,

Beth

I'm sorry you are so stressed. Is your yoga class available right now. Perhaps that might help. I wish I had words of wisdom for you. I hope your hip is feeling okay today.

I've been reading up on hypothyroid issues, and I came across an article that suggest limiting raw cruciferous vegetables-cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, sweet potato. It indicated to make sure you only eat these foods in limited amounts and always cooked.

Thanks for the B&G suggestion-This morning I did a BR w/o and at lunch did B&G! I'm eating the cauliflower tomato dinner and will probably head out for a short walk to finish up my steps. Oh, I had the mixed veggies with hemp sauce for lunch, it was delicious! The chia pudding is so good too! I'm not really missing meat at all. I would like to get in more protein though-eggs, protein pancake etc. I'm wondering if that's why I'm struggling with lifting. I've done this cleanse numerous times and don't recall this being an issue.

My eating could be better. I eat when I'm stressed, mostly peanut butter. Today I had some dark chocolate and may indulge in a glass of wine tonight.

How was your Easter? I ate totally off plan at the family dinner-even had a cupcake. I am prepping today for week 3 since I worked all weekend. Totally agree that plant based meals feel better than meat. I

Friday I did IMAX 3 (the premix with just the 10 routines-no blasts). It was about 30 minutes so I added on the first three blasts then stretched. Lately I've just been doing what I feel like doing and not worrying about a set schedule with goals. I think it'd be easier to eat better then exercise more! So I'm biking when I can, doing the pool a couple of times a week and not worrying about my muscles as much.

Beth

Off to prep...

Nice job with Imax 3!!! Love that w/o! As long as you are moving, it's all good. I just need stay in shape enough to keep up with my granddaughters! I do like learning how to cook vegetables in new and interesting ways for my family.

Saturday was S&S ramped UB and S&S Cardio Slam, Sunday was a BR w/o and today was another BR w/o. I intended on working out at lunch but had to run into the orthodontists office instead. I'm not following a rotation, but I should probably find one so I have something planned. Just winging it isn't working very well for me.

I still have food left from last week that I'm finishing up. Today I had the roasted veggies and pesto for lunch and made the potato broccoli soup for dinner. I'll eat the same tomorrow. I shopped but I haven't prepped for this week. My refrigerator is packed. I think DH is getting a little annoyed with the refrigerator situation. Being home, I can prepare a couple of meals in the evening pretty easily. I did make the chia puddings today.

I went off plan yesterday and had a piece of ham and coleslaw, oh and some ice cream dessert. It was one meal and I'm okay with it.

bbl

I got a lot prepped yesteday-some chia puddings, the curry dish, some spaghetti squash, brown rice, and stocked up on the frozen fruits. I can see myself continuing some of these recipes even when we're done the cleanse. I love all the veggies!

Today I did X10-38 minute premix of low impact and step. I still can't do push ups so I sub shoulder raises with the weights. I have a therapy appt. next week and am going to ask him about push ups. I've been icing my shoulder more to see if that helps. I would love to do more upper body weights....someday!!
