Damage Control...Week of May 1st!

Hey Girls, Thanks for the Birthday Wishes! :)

Diana, you asked me if we were seeing a show in NYC and the answer is yes, we saw "Jersey Boys" on Saturday afternoon. Fantastic! :D

I was able to hold it off in order to enjoy the weekend but I am finally getting sick. Feel like dog poop right now. Strongly considering a sick day today. :(

So yesterday I finally got the nerve up to ask DH about going to Ottawa...and of course he didn't care. There were a few other obstacles standing in my way though. Such as work:mad: Its my weekend to work but the weekend before that is when everyone goes camping...I don't think it will be hard to switch. And if it comes down to it, I can be a complete *itch and put in for holidays...can't refuse that one. One of my coworkers thinks that she has something on the go one night that weekend and the other girl is still in FL. I'm sure between the two of them we can figure this out. So I went ahead and registered anyway.

Of course I had to go for a long run yesterday. I did 16.5k. I am still gonna have to try a little longer yet. Two 20k runs would make me happy before we go. DH told me to budget to see how much it would cost, including spending money. What he meant by spending money was lululemon....LOL....He knows there is one in the mall!:eek::D

I'm not sure what my workout is gonna be today. I will probably do hills and intervals in the TM and weights of some sort. My running partner is coming over for a coffee and I have training at 12. The rest of the day I am a free women.

Scale is FINALLY moving...not enough though cause it can easily go back up...LOL

Wendy** I shall cross my fingers that you start feeling better:) I think everyone gets sick this time of year. I think its the transition from one season to another. The weather here can be so up and down.....it may be +12 one day and snowing the next. Glad you had a good weekend.

Diana** Why are you updating your resume? Just b/c? I only ever update mine when I am looking for a job! LOL Mine hasn't been to bad lately. It helps that I am not there as much as I was before, I would imagine. Nice workout yesterday. I seen a box dvd set in the walmart flyer yesterday. Looks like a Chalene dvd set....or whatever her name is. I don't know if I can justify buying something else right now.

O.k...DS is still asleep, not sure what is up with that. Im gonna go downstairs, look at my workouts and see what I can come up with for a rotation.

Morning Ladies,

I hurt my back and have been working out anyway. Not sure if I can do that this morning. Usually warming up the body and getting the blood flowing loosens it up. Not sure since it is really hurting this morning.

I've been working on it for about 18 months and it still hasn't happened. Because I've been at my company over 20 yrs, my resume needs to be updated.

Wendy-sorry you're not feeling well. Glad you were able to enjoy your bday weekend! I broke down and ordered a gymboss last night. Zuzana uses them in her bodyrock w/o's. Did you ever check out the bodyrock.tv link? How often do you use your gymboss?

LauraT-how was your weekend? I finally did Game Day....although some moves were tough...it was not as bad as I was anticipating.

Well I ended up feeling okay today so I went food shopping, did some laundry, cleaned up the house a bit, exercised and cooked dinner (new recipe!). So much for staying home sick and resting! :rolleyes:

My work out was D21(back/biceps) plus the weights only portion of Ab Circuits Weights n Plates Abs. I was supposed to do D20 but one of my knees has been wonky since perusing the city endlessly over the weekend so I didn't want to mess with it until it felt better. It will probably be fine by tmrw because it's tons better then it was this morning evening! So the double wave loads for one arm rows and barbell curls killed me today! It's the first time I did this w/o and I overestimated my strength I guess!:eek:

Lori:: I looked at TurboFire when it first came out and it didn't appeal to me even though I like Chalene, TJ and CLX.

Diana:: I use my Gym Boss right now mostly just for timing my plank work. It's handy to have though. Worth the cost. Checked out BodyRock. They look like tough work outs. I'll have to try one some day when I need something short but intense.
 
Good Morning Ladies:)

Feels like I have been awake forever! My coworker called last night and wanted to know if I wanted to do a flight @ 11:45. I said yes, but then the times changed to 1:20:mad: It was after 2 before I went to bed, couldn't get to sleep of course and then DS was awake at 6:30:confused: UGH!!! Anyway, I am probably gonna do my workout this a.m and take a nap when he goes to preschool this afternoon:p

I bought 30 lbs db's yesterday and I used them for chest...well, as much as I could anyway. It was tough! 5 lbs jump in each hand is alot! My chest is very sore today. I am looking forward to doing one arm rows with them today. Should be a little easier. Yesterday's workout was GS chest and shoulders, and a 9.2 km run. I would have pushed it to 10 if I didn't think the dog was gonna die. It was his first run this year and he was wiped after 5 k.

Diana** Well, I really hope you get that promotion that you deserve and if not, maybe its time for a change. Im sure you have been there long enough to know what you wanna do. I looked at the video clip through beach body earlier yesterday. It looks fun but not what I want. I don't need MORE cardio workouts. I barely use the ones I have.:confused: Lets see where these 30 lbs db's and protein powder get me! LOL

Wendy** HOw are you feeling today? Sound like you came around yesterday. Hopefully there isn't much to it. I thought for sure that you would have owned TF if it were any good! LOL

O.k...i will bbl to report my workout. Im gonna get started now while the going is good in this house!

Good Morning.

Y'day was D21 + Weights portion of Weights n Plates Abs.

Today was BM2 Cardio Time Saver, Allstep Cardio, standing abs from Criss Cross Cardio.

Tmrw will be D20. Skipped it y'day b/c of a wonky knee which obviously feels much better today based on my cardio work out! :D

I was 1.8# heavier y'day morning b/c of my weekend away but this morning I am already back down 1.6# of it so I am happy. By tmrw morning I should be good to go! :) Hoping for another .5# loss this week! Fingers crossed!;)

Lori:: IDK. TF just didn't appeal to me. Too fast and jerky looking for me. Some of the moves in TJ are like that but I can overlook them because MOST of TJ is fun. TF looks like it's mostly those super fast jerky moves so I'm not taking a chance. It's okay. It feels good to NOT be enabled for once in my life! LOL Actually, I think I will be passing on the Asylum after all as well and I was always super excited over it! Must be a full moon!:p

Gotta go for now but I'll be back!:cool:
 
Hi Girls,

Weight workout is done. My arms and back are gonna be soooo sore!:confused: But in a good way:) Those 30 lb'ers are coming in handy. I used them for one arm rows, lying extensions and over head tri extensions. I think that's what I needed instead of newer workouts.

Drinking my shake now and I am starving! Hoping that this fill me up until after my run. I am kind of hoping to catch a little nap after DS goes to preschool and then go for my run or vice versa.

Wendy** I should have known that you didn't approve if I had to ask cause I know you talk everyone else into other workouts. I would have heard about it before;) I use to catch all of the infomercials at work in the wee hours of the morning when I use to work nights. Good job with getting those lbs down. Your some girl!!!

Lori:: It's not me who gets the credit for my weight loss. It's WW. The program rocks. It works for me. Without it I would still be struggling. :confused:
I had been using 27.5# for one arm rows in STS so tried using 30# y'day. It was fine except for the fact that we were doing the double wave loads and I STARTED with 30#! YIKES! Wrong move! I backed it down real quick on the 2nd wave! :eek:
 
hey ladies..

Chckn in from the road..we went camping..then gambling...the camping would have been awesome...but one of the guys that went was straight up arrogant @ss....couldn't take one more minute of him..not to mention he snored like freight train..nooooooo sleep for me...we left called casino..ended up with a suite..it was awesome...but we both lost..but I considder it win to get away from @sso...

No workouts to report..just fishing settingup camp and taking down camp...we are on way home now....

Back to reality tmrw..workout is gonna b tuff with all cabs consumed..food wasn't that bad..but cabs were..lol

Just woke up from a nice nap. I struggled with it on the way home from taking DS to preschool. All the way home I was debating. I finally decided to lie down and if I didn't fall asleep within 20 mins, I would get back up. I had a nice 45 mins nap or so.

Just got back from 10.5 kms. It was a good run but I have this burning feeling in my belly. I just like it when I drink coffee before I run. When I got back DD was taking the dog for a run. From my bedroom window I seen her run by....doing her mama proud!:)

Laura** I hate idiots and @ssholes! They should all be made away with!:p Seriously though...where do these people come from. Happy you got out of that and had some fun at the casino...win or lose. Did I tell you that when we came back from DR we had more money then we left with? DH won every time he went to the casino. Then I spent it in duty free!:eek:

Wendy** I usually know when Im tired but it was more of a lazy feeling. I knew that if I didn't get a nap I wouldn't be fit to shoot later!! Glad I had one!

Hi ladies,

No morning workout but I did go to the rec ctr for heavy leg training and abs. It felt good to get in a heavy leg workout. I don't have to be to work early tomorrow...so Intensity is sounding good.

The PIA coworker that left a while back, her job is posted and is a higher grade level than mine. I'm so pissed about it. After discussing the issue with DH who thought I should apply for it...I've decided I will apply for the job. I don't know if I should confront my boss, or just apply. At any rate...I have the "card sort" scheduled with HR for next Monday, and they are accepting resume's for the job until the 12th. Apparently the vp of my department doesn't want to promote me and I have to jump through hoops that no one else has to.

Lori-those heavier weights make a huge difference! I love my 30's and 35's for chest and back. They also come in very handy in meso2 and 3. I love chalene so may check out wal mart for myself. I love chalene and would love to have the series, but not enough to sacrifice the new Cathe w/o's. Looks like your good habits are rubbing off on DD.

Wendy-just so you know, Asylum is totally different from the original Insanity. It's not the hardcore hiit that Insanity is. Don't get me wrong, they are still hard! Glad WW is working out for you!

LauraT-other than the snoring @hole...its sounds like you had a pretty good weekend.

I am tired today. I should have went to bed earlier last night, instead I got caught up in a tv show and when I looked it was almost 12! My 6 day round starts today....:(. Just as well to start it so I can get it over with.

Diana** That suck about the job situation! I would be so pissed. I can feel the yesterday's weight workout today:eek: Everything hurts! LOL

I am thinking today's workout will be cardio and some leg work mixed in. I didn't want to get out of bed and I lay there for a while. I don't have any training after work, which is great. Who knows...once Im on the go I may not be sleepy all day!

Good Morning Ladies,

I woke up with a terrible headache, stress from work I'm sure. This morning I'm doing intensity, on some very sore legs I might add. I don't have anything planned at lunch and might hit the rec ctr again. DS1 may want me to meet him at Kohl's. He's going to a wedding in vegas and needs some ties and a couple dress shirts.

We got a new VP for our dept about 6 years ago. I've pretty much been jerked around since that time, with no upward mobility. He's hired about 6 of his friends that now work in the dept. The problem is, I really need this increase in pay to offset what my DH is going to lose. This is the third year of paycuts at his work, so instead of our yearly income increasing, it's actually decreasing. His paycut is effective on July 1st.

Wendy-Nice job with disc 20, legs right? So I'm getting the feeling the "card sort" results will be used against me and as justification for not being "promotable". No one else has had to go through this process.

Lori-What were you watching? They are having a Natalee Holloway special and I'm going to record that. 30# DB's will do a body good.;)

Laura-do you get back from your camping trip today?

Yeah ofcourse no one else had to go through this because they are BUDDIES WITH THE VP!!!!!!!!:eek: If you can't get anywhere within your company then perhaps you should seek other avenues to get what you deserve. What's going on here sounds illegal to me and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. If you are doing your job just as well (if not better) then your coworkers then you deserve to get promoted. PERIOD.
