Damage Control. Week of March 27th!

LauraT:: OMG not sure where your core is hurting you but my sides (obliques) are crazy sore! They even hurt to the touch! A crossfit gym sounds cool. Will you be participating as a client or applying for a job as a trainer there? ;) Yes, get back on top of STS pronto lady! :p:D

Hi ladies,

Back to report that STS total body is done...in it's entirety. The plan was UB only, but that premix didn't have the warmup. So I started at the beginning and just did the whole thing. Tomorrow will probably be a rest day since I have to go to a seminar downtown and be there early.

Laura-Our trainer just trains us, modifies form etc., she isn't participating in our bootcamp workouts. She does teach classes such as BodyStep, BodyPump, BodyVive, Ultimate cardio etc. I guess some folks have given her hard time about not doing the workout with us and it is bothering her. She wants to workout with us bootcamp style, not something she usually gets to do. She's going to provide the workouts and do them with us. You will love crossfit. We have several near me but they are way to expensive for me to afford. Its 1 to 2 hundred buck a month depending on how many sessions you want to attend. It's $300 for my yearly gym membership, I can't justify the cost. We got snow last night. It's supposed to get to 58 today so it should melt soon.

Lori-ITA w/LauraT. I say keep the swimsuit. I remember many years ago asking my husband if a skirt I was planning on wearing to work was too short. He says "too short for what, it looks great".

Wendy-I increased my db bicep curls from 15#'s to 20#'s today. Biceps are my weakest body part and its always so discouraging. I couldn't keep up with Cathe, but I did all the reps at my own pace! I expect my arms to be sore tomorrow.

bbl

Diana:: I remember the days back in 07 when I was doing the X...I was able to do bicep curls with 15# DB's. I think I was even able to eek it up to 17.5! Not anymore since then! Hoping STS can bring me back there though! Good job with STS TB. Love that work out!

Good Morning!

No clients this early in the a.m so I woke up on my own That's always nice. It is only 8'ish so hopefully I will start my workout in the next 30 mins or so. I have a busy day again. My parents are popping in for a visit, I have training at 1, a lady from the bank is coming by at 2 (we are switching banks) more training after that and then having friends over for dinner. DH is suppose to be doing all of the work for that though....so I will leave him be! I would like to make a dessert though, just not sure where I will find the time.

On another note the scale is moving back down. My eating as been kinda off and with our trip into the city the scale went up a little. I wasn't going to weigh this morning but I did and I am down 1.2 lbs from yesterday morning. I like staying under the 120 mark now. That's where I have been at for the past few months and it is now my comfort zone.

Wendy** I hate fevers! Its been 2 years now since we were in the hospital with DS for a full week! Our nerves were gone. Im sure it took yrs off of our lives. Of course we thought it was gonna be a yearly thing after that:confused: Glad to hear he didn't get to sick though!!

Diana** How is the ww plan going? The lady I train is gone away now. I told her that she should make use of the gym and go. And she said she was going to. By the time they left, she started saying "even if I don't go to the gym, Im gonna do situps, lunges and pushups in my room" That spoke volumes right there. I am willing to bet she will come back with 5 or more lbs on which could have been some what avoided if she went to the gym for 30 mins 2 x's a day. Who cares...your on vacation. Go to the stupid gym! If it means keeping your weight some what under control, then do it. People just don't get it.

Laura** I am keeping the suit. I had a female opinion and she thought it was super cute. Then I asked DD, who also thought it was nice and if it was to risky she would have def said so.

O.k...I may no bb, but I will try. I am doing the rest of my UB this morning and abs. I thought about going for a run outside when my parents came but its snow covered rds out there today....so I will just be working out inside!

Lori:)

Good Morning Ladies,

No workout for me this morning. I have to head down south for a 3 hour overview of Sharepoint 2010. It should be a nice heads up for what's to come when we upgrade. Then it's back to work for me, ugh.

My shoulders are so sore this morning. I did MM on Sunday and STS TB yesterday.

Lori-WW is going okay. Any kind of weightloss program will work if you just follow the program. Some days I'm better at that than others. I know you can't exercise away a poor diet. When hunger or simply...I want chocolate strikes, it's pretty easy to just say screw ww and eat what you want. I know this program works since I've used it successfully in the past, although I was much more disciplined then. I'm working on it though.

Have a great day ladies!

Hump day

Hey ..

It is a STORMY hump day - working on not much sleep .. couldnt GET to sleep then at 4 a/m was awakened by terrible lightning and thunder .... it was scary .. lighting was hitting all over .. my big sissy furbabies scratched on the door wanting to come in bedroom w/mama to protect them :p .. silly things!! But it was some RUFF STORMS rolling thru !!!! Last night .. I did mish mosh class (KB, plank walks, pushups, core, low holds, weighted plyo work) - DOMS REPORT:  BUTT - HAMMIES - and CORE!!!!!! OUCH!!!

Wendy - I do bis w/15# in STS now . . BUT OMG do i struggle and does it ever hurt the next day!! I do 10# in class ..

Lori - GOOD .. glad you kept the suit ... bet you are rocking it .. and yes DD would have told you if it were too skimpy .. no one wants their mother flaunting hoochymama BS ... .. LOL.. bet you look awesome!!

DI - WW is a great program .. espcially since they improved it w/the limitless low cal veggies!! IA it is all about CHOICES .. and sometimes that inner voice "eat the cookie .. eat the hamburger .. you really need some fries" is STRONG and cant be denied  .. biggest thing try to keep that voice at bay and make a smarter choice!!!

Hello to all that follow!

So I am teaching tonight (have hair apnt tmrw) - PLYO class - had a new couple last night .. not sure if they will be back .. dont think it was what they were expecting - I knew before class when they asked "is this harder than Zumba" (and most of the class busted out in laugher) it might not be a good fit for them  :p but they tried .. and made it 30 minutes thru .. it is hard to explain HiiT/BC style workouts if you have not done them .. it is always harder than what it sounds like .. OH WELL .. maybe they will try it again! OK ...have a great one! will BBL to see what everyone is up to!;)

Ladies,

Rest day for me today.

Lori:: Having sick kids stinks. Like you, I will never forget when our DS was in the hospital after that seizure Christmas morning. Horrible experience I never wish to have to go through again. :( Have fun w/your friends as well as letting DH do all the cooking! ;)

Diana:: Gotta love shoulder DOMS! :)

LauraT:: You mean your fur babies don't sleep in your bedroom? Really!? That surprises me! LOL So did you let them in last night or what? :)

BBL or tmrw.

LOL -

Wendy .. My big furbabies SNORE WAAAAAY too loud to SLEEP in room w/me .. if I had them AND DH to listen to .. I would have to move into the guest bedroom to get any sleep!!! Buster sleeps in the hall at my door - usually w/his nose pressed up to the bottom of the door so the snoring still resonates in my room  I am a lite sleeper .. so between them and DH I dont sleep much :p Buster snores so loud that when he passes out next to the TV I have to turn volume up to hear it  :p love my big baby and it is pretty funny .. but dang that dog can saw some ZZZZZZZZZZ's .. Toots does the polite .. SNORT series every now and again and the little dreamy "woof woofs" .. but Buster solid ZZZZZZZZZ's!!! LOLOLOL:p

and yes I let them in last night ... bless their hearts!!!!

LauraT--I am LOL about your furbabies. We have 3 Great Danes, and one of them is a terrible snorer too. It totally makes me laugh! :D

Lori--We will be in the States for 4 months. Sometimes we make short trips, but this is a long one where we have to visit all of our contributors.

And, speaking of contributors, we will have exciting news because our university just received its official accreditation. We can open for classes!! Woo hoo! :):):):):)

Diana—WTG with 20# dbs for biceps. That is amazing. Until about a year ago I really didn’t care about biceps . . . didn’t push myself to work them hard, didn’t feel compelled to have well defined bi’s . . . then realized that well-defined biceps help the delts stand-out. I LOVE working them now. But I’m still only at 15s. And on that MM sequence, my bar is only 30, not 35.

Wendy—I’m impressed you’re having a rest day, girl! :p

Yday was a run . . . I’m LOVING how strong I feel on the runs now. Not huffing and puffing, not dying on my way up hills, not dreading the moments I have to dodge other pedestrians or curbs or tree roots, etc.

Today is legs. Supposed to be the 4th plyo legs disc of STS (what is that, disc 38?), but I haven’t gotten to try the new Lower Body Blast, :( so I’m thinking I may do that instead. I leave my house a week from today —have the weekend of R&R to recuperate from frantic packing—and then fly on the 11th. Bye, bye to all my wonderful workout equipment. So I have to pick my best and favorite workouts this week—at least the ones that require heavy weight or lots of equipment. Once I get to the States, I have a few little pieces I've acquired and stored, but it's makeshift. I'll depend on runs and push-ups! :p

ETA: LBB completed.

Good Morning Ladies,

I enjoyed my rest day yesterday! Today will be a cardio day and I'm leaning towards KPC. S90 is still awaiting...I've only done an ab workout from it so far. I'm wondering if I should do the S90 rotation and then Insanity. Hmmm, something to ponder for a bit.

Not sure if I can get out at lunch, but if so will try to run the 4 mile loop. Eventually, I'm going to have to increase that distance. I'm happy with the 4 miles for now.

LauraR-congrats on the accreditation!! You should feel so accomplished! KPC is another one that doesn't need equipment. Many years ago I did biceps with 20# on a regular basis. My biceps are my weakest link if you will and I struggle keeping up with Cathe in endurance w/o's on biceps. I think it's ME where she only uses 15#'s and I have to drop my weight for the second set of barbell curls. Nice job with LBB!!

Wendy-what's on your agenda for today?

LauraT-my triceps were sore too. STS TB only has dips for tricep work which seems a little light IMO. I was sore just the same. I think GS C&T has the best or maybe just most thorough tricep work.

Lori-what's on your crazy schedule for today?

Hi Tiffany and Jacque.:D

Morning Ladies.

Today was Disc 14 round 2 and it killed me just as badly as it did in round 1! ;) I was soooo close to changing my plan and doing something else this morning but I decided to push through and make it happen and now I'm glad it's over! :p

So I think I've actually lost a couple pounds perhaps. I jumped on the scale this morning and my weight is the lowest it's been since the earlier part of November! :D I guess I gained a few holiday pounds that never came off. I hope this isn't a fluke. Time will tell. Fingers crossed! ;)

Diana:: My plan was to follow Insanity up with S90 but I wonder if Insanity, being as cardio heavy as it is, would be the wiser choice for the end of the year (holiday time) and S90 a better choice for post STS?? Things that make ya go hmmm...Thoughts? :)

LauraT:: I was *this close* (holding thumb and forefinger together almost touching!) to taking another rest day today! Do you believe it!? I just didn't want to drag my butt out of bed for some reason. Too funny about the snoring pups. My dog will snore on occasion as will my DH but neither do it regularly, thank goodness!

Friday Eve ...

Hello Ladies!!

I got to class and the begged me to do an "easy" ball class .. turns out they were just as sore as me .. so I compromised - 1/2 plyo 1/2 balls  :p ... they "thought" the balls would be EASY .. HA .. I knew when they were wanting it they just wanted an easier workout .. OK .. when we got to the hamstring work .. I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA PASS OUT my hammies hurt so freaking bad .. AS DID MY CLASS .. :p .. they were moaning .. i was moaning .. one girl said she felt like she could puke .. LOL .. YUP .. NOT THE EASY CHOICE at all :p I am still sore in my hammies and core .. butt is a bit better. Today is raining .. I am getting my hair cut and highlited after work ..THANK GOODNESS .. I may try to fit in heavy legs at lunch .. but crap my legs are too sore!!! May be my REST day ;)

LauraR - congrats on the accredidation!!! WOOT WOOT!! WTG!!!! I know you are happy and PROUD - as you should be!!!

Di - glad you enjoyed your rest day!! I probably couldnt even lift a 20# DB w/my bis  yikes!!! My weakest link by far is my bis!!! I despise working them!!

Wendy - I DID IT - I bit!!! Tower is now being prepared for shipping!!! I went thru amazon - altus tower is same tower 1/2 price!!! free shipping! :D :D :D :D

Lori - what have you got planned for today??

OK .. better get back to work!! hope everyone has a great day - hopefully our sunshine will return this weekend .. it is dreary and depressing and wet and cold out .. ugh . . I am ready for some sunshine!! have a great one!

LauraT:: I wrote to you in my last post but mistakenly addressed it to LauraR (it gets confusing!LOL). I just changed the initial so if you didn't realize it was for you, it is! :D YAY for the tower! That's where I got mine from. Thought it was limited sale but I guess not if you got that deal as well! You are gonna love it!

LauraT--ball work is NOT easy. I die every time Cathe does roll ins! In the past, I couldn't do one-legged glute raises on the ball because my knee stabilizers weren't strong enough. But I have progressed! I'm really proud of that because I feel like it's a very functional gain--always good to have better stabilization. WTG working your class. Have fun at your hair appointment. I love fresh color on my hair! :)

Wendy--a rest day and then thinking of another? Wow. That's some serious DOMS. I vote for extra cardio at the end of the year, FWIW.

Lori--Do you have some special mish-mosh workouts planned in prep for vacation. I'm sure you already look great, but do you have a plan to make something look extra good?

Diana--Yes, KPC is another great no equipment workout. Thinking about trying to rip mine to the hard drive so I don't have to take the disc home, and if that doesn't work, I may cave and buy the download, even though I already have the DVD. Yes, ME biceps are killer. That's where Cathe does that "wicked witch" laugh--and smiles! Those are evil and I cry. :p

Feeling faint DOMS in the legs already from LBB this morning--good, good. ;)

I'm with ya LauraR on the DOMS setting in EARLY for this morning's leg work out! Spent a few hours standing up at a copy machine today. I think that's what did it for me.

So I counted the weeks I have from when the approximate end of my STS rotation will be until I leave for vacation at the end of August and then the # of weeks from when I return from vacation to the end of the year. I have about 7 weeks prior to vacation and about 18 weeks after so here's what I'm thinking....

June: Final month of STS
July- most of August: Barre, Squeeze, Tonique combo rotation
Last full week in August: Vacation
September-Mid November: S90 rotation
Mid November-End of December or into Mid January: Insanity
January 2012: STS

Ofcourse this is all subject to change at any moment!:p

Wendy, I love how you have your workouts planned till the end of the YEAR when, on any given morning, you may not know what you are going to do on that particular DAY! :D

Hiya ladies !

I'm sitting here in our 86' weather at 6 PM - hot streak the past couple of days. It is loverly . . . I took tomorrow off - will pay for it BIG TIME - have no assistant yet - but I needed it and with the weather so nice I couldn't resist.

Have slowly started turning the corner to get back into a schedule of sorts. Sleeping through the night to 4:30 most mornings and not waking up middle of the night much. Yay me !

Workouts last week: STS TB (first half and that had me sore) then Step Moves. This week: Sat - PUB up only, Sun - PLB up only, Mon - headache, Tues - IMax 3 (with a couple of missed reps here and there), Wed late night at work, tonight ??? some sort of cardio during the hockey game intermissions and tomorrow I'll attempt a full body weight workout and some cardio (perhaps a run outside). I'm feeling much better and am hoping to keep it up.

That was the good news . . . the bad is that I am up about 8 lbs ! ! ! Emotional eating and it has to be stress too because I have not eaten an excess of 28,000 calories in the past couple of weeks ! I am sure if I tighten it up I can deal with it but it sucks big time for sure !

You all have been keeping busy with loads of things going on from my sporadic reading here and there. I actually spent one lunch hour reading your thread on my iphone ! :p Took a while but it was nice to get back in touch with y'all ! ;) Ran out of time to post cuz people kept interrupting me.:(

Wendy - bummer about Joey - sick kids are a bummer ! What is this S90 that you ladies are discussing? Love the year is planned already - too funny! So on the weekend you try a new recipe? I flattened some pork loins and made a stufffing (herbed cheese spread w/sauteed sun dried tomatos, shallots, garlic and pickled hot peppers) tied them and DH smoked them last weekend - YUM!

Diana - I'm with you on not eating right and having lapse in judgement on the food choices. You must share some of your fav WW recipes - I'd love to try some new things. How is work? I noticed you are taking interviewing, Linkedin, etc classes? Are you thinking of moving on? Woo Hoo - the girls are coming for a month again ! When I have a chance I'll send you my pic of my GS's, my DIL and me at the Sharks game two weeks ago. It was a blast !

Lori - lululululululululu - not sure that word is in your vocabulary yet so get moving, huh? I loved the story about DH following you into the store to keep an eye on you ! You should become a distributor or get DH to sell them in his store ? ? ? ;) :p  I'm with the others in saying that if you have the goods to show then by all means let others see what they can look like if they are disciplined ! You Go Girl !

Poochy - sounds like things are going pretty well with you lately . . . nice that DH had a great BD. Sorry about the dreary weather but I was totally jealous of you and your 70's a couple of weeks ago when we were at 40+ with pouring rain ! Got great workouts going still . . . we have cross fit near us too but, like Diana, the cost is way too high for my pocketbook. Hope you get the chance to take advantage.

LauraR - oh your run sounded lovely. We have a little creek path that is overgrown with lots of trees to run through near my house and I adore that trail. Also nice to hear your running stamina has improved along with some strengthening ! Seems when I was dropping out of the loop you were just getting back to running so you have progressed very well. What states will you be visiting during your 4 month stateside trip? Going to "play" while you are here also or just primarily work?

Man have I missed you all - and who is Tiffany? Don't think I have been around to "know" her yet?

Did you ladies see the video with the 2 twin baby boys having a conversation? If not, I'll find the link (though I would bet that the OD forum had a post or two there). My DH found it and showed it to me last night - I love it !

Well that is about my life in a nutshell the past couple of weeks . . . hoping to be back more consistently . . . definitely this weekend !

Until later . . .

Good Morning:)

I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday. To hectic and throw that 3 hour appt in on top of everything else....it wasn't as bad as we thought it was gonna be though. The interview was 86 questions long....and I guess it could have been longer, depending on if you answered yes or no to any of the questions. The dr was so nice and that made it easier. Psychologist are usually wack themselves...but this guy seemed normal! So we have to take DS next Fri for his assessment. If they think he has issues they will tell us then. But they also said that it may never be pinpointed, if he has a delay, they may not know why or what's causing it. We would just have to start working with him.

Yesterday I managed to get out for a 10 km run and that was it. On wed I did GS Back,Bics and Tris, then 4DS shoul, a 4 mile run and then bike.

I went to bed early with hopes of getting a good workout in. I am going to do a run, abs and legs. I have almost 2 hours to do all of this. I may not get a full leg workout in but even the standing work in one of the dvds is ok with me.

I will come back later to catch up on some personals. I hope it isnt a busy day for me.

Lori:)

Good Morning Ladies,

My oh my, legs are fried! I ended up doing BH cardio and used my 15# kettlebell and 12# DB for most of it. I forgot how much weight work is in this cardio w/o. Loved all the kb swings though and would love to add in some AOS w/o's soon. Bootcamp finished off burning the quads with wall sits while tossing a ball back and forth to a partner.....forever! We also did stairs...my favorite.

KPC is on tap to help with the leg dom's. My shoulders are still sore so I'm not going to wear my weighted gloves today. Tomorrow can be an Upper Body and cardio day.

Jacque-so nice to hear from you. I'm gearing up to put myself on the market. The coworker I was having so many issues with has left the company. I don't feel as though there is any advancement opportunity for me at my current company. I'm going to be looking for jobs that will allow me to work from home.

Lori-glad you will soon get some news about DS. Enjoy your workout today! We did a lot of running in bootcamp last night. We started off with a mile run, sprints, high knees, butt kicks, karaoke, back pedal etc. These are all things we do in summer bootcamp on the football field.

Wendy-love that you planned out your rotations through the end of the year.:p It's always nice to have a plan, even if it gets modified. You can count me in for S90, Insanity, and STS. My coworker isn't bringing Insanity back until Monday. I was hoping to start this weekend...oh well.

LauraT-no such thing as an easy Ball class! I don't know what they were thinking. My trainer has enough of us that want to continue with bootcamp that they are offering another session....means we have to pay though. Once I find out the dates/times I will decide if I can do it. I prefer the 7-8pm class, she also has an 8-9pm class but it's hard to fall asleep after that late class.

LauraR-will you be working for the 4 mos you are in the states? I just assumed it was summer and more like vacation.

TGIF:p
