Damage Control on an STS Monday! :)

Cathlete
Good Morning.

Just getting us started. Today is cardio + abs. Thinking of Athletic Step but we'll see what floats my boat when I get in there. As long as I'm sweating, that's all I care about today. :)

So I saw that Cathe posted the Jan rotation. I clicked on it wondering if it would lure me away from STS but it didn't. Phew! LOL

Speaking of STS. I used my old w/o cards as a guide to know what weights NOT to use (LOL). I lightened up and for the most part, chose good weight loads for the exercises. It was a much more comfortable w/o w/the lighter weights. I enjoyed it. :)

Good Morning Ladies,

I totally over ate yesterday. Since the girls have been here I don't start my workout until after they are up and I feed and bathe them. I only had a banana in the morning before my late morning w/o of STS Back & Triceps & MMA Fusion. I came upstairs at 1:11pm ready to make my fiber one/protein powder/fruit/flax breakfast when DH said we are supposed to be at MIL's at 2pm. I quickly showered and we headed out. I was famished when we got there, hence the overeating.

I've been up since 4:30 just tossing n turning and finally just got up. Because I want to hit legs twice per week, today will be legs and KPC. I'm leaning towards Leaner Legs simply because its shorter. I expect to be released for impact work on Jan 24th, so am modifying when necessary.

Well most folks probably have to go back to work today. I have this week off as vacation and will be taking care of the girls. DS1 starts a new job today, 7-4 normal hours.

Wendy-glad you were able to adjust the weights for STS. I used 30# for one arm rows and didn't remember using this heavy of weights for meso 1. As long as you are using a challenging weight you will see results.

LauraR-Your rotation looks good to me. I'm a big STS fan and Meso 2 is my favorite. I haven't been running in long time, but hope to get back to it soon. In December I had surgery to remove a Morton's Neuroma and so far, so good.

Good Morning...although I have been up fo-eva!

It was nice to have a break from workouts last week. I really enjoyed the time to do whatever I wanted...but now its back to the craziness! I started training again yesterday and met with a couple of new clients. I feel so bad for these people who are over weight and really, I don't know if I should. They kind of did it to themselves. Honestly...do you need an explaination as to why your body is aching?:confused: One girls knee caps didn't grow with her knees...and she has muscle spasms in her back...I just can't handle the whining and I can only be nice for so long. It just makes me wonder if its true pain or just imaginary pain b/c they don't want to do anything. Then they can tell themselves that they "tried".
Anyway...so I had 3 training sessions yesterday and 2 meetings. Today so far I have had 2 sessions and another one tonight...plus I work all day. Good thing about this is its a holiday here today so the boss isn't in:eek::eek: Yippee!!! I may run out and pick up some new books so I can start writing up workouts.

DS turns 4 tomorrow!:(:( Where as the time gone? I almost feel the urge to have another one (dare I say it) Not in the cards right now but ya never know....I just feel like he is growing up way to fast and its kinda sad! And then DD will be 15 in March! Ugh!

So no workout for me today...unless I do something later tonight. I will get my workout in the rest of the week though. Yesterday's workout was 4 miles on the TM and some chest and tris. I tried to do GS legs on Sat but that was cut short. I really don't know if I will be able to stick to a rotation right now, unless I do it from week to week.

Wendy** Enjoy your workout! Do one for me!

Im going to see what I missed!

Lori:)

O.k.....it hasn't been to noisy around here. I am going to check in when I can but on my 5 day week it could be tough.

Diana** When do the girls go back and who is watching them when you are at work? Their dad? Rylan wanted to go outside when we were at my parents house last week as well. He is use to going there in the summer time and gets to do whatever outside. He doesn't like being confined to the house when he only has a limited number of toys! What kind of challenge did you sign up for???

LauraR** Welcome! This group is kinda small and that's what I like. Not to much to catch up in when I have been away for a few days!

Jacque** Good job at getting your workouts in. Sounds like you and DH had a nice new years.

So...does anyone have any new years resolutions???

Lori:)

Lori:: There are 2 recent pregnancies in my DH's family and my SIL believes in things happening in 3's so says another one is coming and is trying to put the hex on ME! NO THANK YOU! Go on and get pg so it can be the 3rd pregnancy. You are not family but that'll be 3 people I know and then I'll feel better! :p

Diana:: IKWYM about eating when you are too hungry. I try my best to not let that happen but sometimes it's unavoidable. It's okay though-you'll do better today! :) Hitting legs 2x per week sounds good to me but I don't wanna give up cardio in order to do it so it won't be happening for me unless I decide to mess with the rotation to see if I can fit it in some where. Yup, ITA. I am lifting with a challenging weight but not a CRIPPLING one which is what most of the 1RM weights put me at! I am not even necessarily dropping the weight down more then a couple of pounds but depending on the BP and the exercise, it can make a huge difference! I am feeling better about STS already. I really hope I can finish it this time. :) The hardest part is going to be getting in that one weight work out during the week cause they are over an hour when all is said and done. Disc 1 is 50 minutes but took me an hour to complete yesterday. I just can't do the set up in 30 seconds like Cathe and crew most of the time! IDK how they do it!

To funny WENDY! Nice try! LOL I think you should do it:p Actually, its the whoel pregnancy and baby stage I don't like. When they aren't as much work, its kinda nice. I just feel kind of sad that he seems to be growing up to fast. I remember the baby stage lasting alot longer with DD.

Oh...its sooo nice not to have anyone around. I didn't know I was gonna have this much time to check in today! Me likey! I feel rather relaxed!

BBL!
Lori:)

Lori:: I am the opposite! I want a baby to play with (minus the sleepless nights!) whom I can "return to sender" once they start to walk! :p I also enjoyed being pregnant (minus the weight gain ofcourse) so that's no problem either! If we could only share a child...I'd carry it and have it and raise it till it starts walking and then it could be yours! What a deal that would be huh? LOL As a matter of fact, I've got a perfect solution...just take my son!!!!:D:p;)

Hmmm...I was just thinking...yes, I know-that's dangerous! LOL :p But anyway, seriously, I was just thinking that I really haven't much interest nor ability to do Meso 3 of STS effectively. I don't have a squat rack and no room for one so even if I wanted to do Meso 3, doing it the way it's meant to be done would be dangerous. With that being said, I am considering omitting it and extending the rotation an extra month (dare I??) and do each work out in mesos 1 and 2 twice so I'd be doing the 6.5 month version minus meso 3. Or is it worth doing meso 3 as heavy as I can safely go w/o a squat rack instead and stick to the 3.5 month rotation as produced?

Any thoughts??

Hey girls,

I just finished Leaner Legs and KPC. I was about at 95% for KPC and got a good w/o. I definitely need to up the cardio for a while and now I looked and felt the best doing 4 days of weights and 6 days of cardio. Not sure if that will be possible after I go back to work next week.

Lori-funny you should mention wanting another baby. I say...go for it. DH wanted to have another one after Jerod was born because he was so much younger than his brothers. I didn't want to have a 4th boy so we settled with the 3. Most of us have to work 5 day weeks so I don't feel too bad for you missy. I still don't know how you fit everything in, training clients, working, taking of the family and house. Heck, I need to take a look at the bills, the bill slot is jam packed...hope nothin' is late.:D

Wendy-actually meso 3 has plyo legs, no reason for the squat rack w/o. Cathe and the girls don't actually use a squat rack, they use a barbell and the weighted vest, the guys use a squat rack. Cathe mentions that STS is made to be done doing each disc twice, complete week 1 twice. No worries girl, we will support you no matter what you decide. Meso 3 is not for you unless you like lifting heavy.:p

Hi Jacque and Laura, are you two back at work today?

The girls are ready to take a shower with me, and have been waiting patiently while I post.

Diana, IDK why but I was thinking that the way the 6.5 month rotation was set up you would do disc 1 disc 1 disc 2 disc 2, etc. I just double checked though and it's 1,2,3,1,2,3. This makes me happy b/c it won't mess up the way I have my rotation mapped out where it would have if it was to be done the other way. Phew. That settles it then. I will do STS in the 6.5 month format. Thanks for the meso 3 info. I will decide how to handle that meso when it gets closer. :) Oh my god, what have I just set myself up for? Exercise ADD better stay the heck away from me for a loooong time! :p

Hola chicas !

Quickie for me while I'm taking a short lunch break at my desk. Man oh man was I bummed - 2 nights in a row waking up mid sleep time for a few hours at a time. At least we have Direct TV and I watched some decent movies ! :p

No workout this AM as I fell back to sleep about 4:30 ish til 6+. Tonight is hockey so tomorrow will be my cardio day.

Wendy - I didn't do Meso 3 last time - just wasn't in the mood. Loved it the first go round though. I did get a bench that can double as a squat rack and love it. One of my knees is acting a little tweaky and then my back is still buggered out so not sure what I will do. I enjoyed subbing Plyo Legs though! They are great workouts. I'll not be doing a longer rotation myself. LOL about the baby thing ! ;) Too funny !

Diana - nice you are still off . . . Enjoy it without all the holiday stuff to deal with. So one more week off then? Wow I wish I took the time for 4 wt days and 6 cardio days. Not in my picture right now. Nice job with the w/o y'day - you are really doing well !

LauraR - Good for you doing STS right before Xmas ! I rememeber last year trying to keep up with the strength and muscle that STS helped me build. Sounds like a great plan you have. Hope the IB's will be nice to you soon . . . is such a bummer when your legs act up when you really want to run. Most I have ever done race-wise is a 10K but I do like to take shorter runs outside in the nice weather or will hop on my TM for up to about an hour. Haven't done much running lately but would love to incorporate for additional calorie burn myself.

LauraT - and are you back at work today girlie?

Time to get something done - cheers !

Jacque:: Sorry about the crappy sleep. :( Hope it's better tonight. Enjoy the hockey game! :) I might be able to create my own "rack" to help me with chest work which is my major concern in meso 3 if I were to do it. I was initially concerned about legs too until Diana reminded me it's plyo legs in meso 3 so no worries there now. Who knows what I'll do but I have time to decide...I have a bazillion work outs to do before I even get CLOSE to starting meso 3!

YIKES are we busy .. THIRD of month and we are swamped  what a way to start off the work year!! I am up front and it is INSANE at the asylum!!!!! anyway - will try to post between customers :confused::confused: had a wonderful weekend - DH was in bed by 10 NYE - I stayed up w/Ryan Seacrest .. it was a great show this year .. so me and my furbabies brought in the NY together - then I cooked my black eyed peas - collards - corn bread and chicken for good luck, good fortune, and friendship!!!;) Hopefully 2011 will be a great one!

Wendy - sounds like you had a great time in A/C .. bummer no winnings but if you had fun that is all taht matters!!! So you start your STS rotation today?? I gotta wait on mine .. until I figure out my gym situation

Lori - your munchkin is 4 .. wow time passes by so quickly!! and thinking bout getting preggers ?? hmmmmmmm ... what about that WICKED shape you were talking bout this year (not that you arent already or would be preggers or non preggers) ;) :p

Di - I know you are having SO MUCH fun w/the DGBs ... YIKES those temps are horrible .. WOW .. I would die!!!!

Jacque - our temps got mild - up to 70 NYE - then yesterday the north wind was blowing and dropped us down to 24 last night .. bbrrrrr .. to be in the lower 50's during the day .. and lower 30's at night now ...

LauraR - good to have you join our small group ... looking forward to hearing your workouts ..

So - I am still in a delima about the gym - we will see how things go this month .. and if no better .. I am officially retiring .. b/c the other place I was looking into does not have a good time slot .. :( .. (sigh) .. time will tell ... but till then I will play it day by day ... it would be a miracle if they fixed it up while I was gone .. but I have LITTLE hope of that ... wish me luck .. OK .. gotta jet has taken me several hours to type this .. UGH .. have a great one:D
