DAMAGE CONTROL - OCTOBER

Hi Girls. :)

No work for me today! WOOT! :D

I am working 2 group sessions at the studio later but that's more fun then work. ;)

Saturday was a rest day. I just didn't have time between working in the morning and then going to a party from early afternoon to evening...It was an outdoor party and the weather did not cooperate. It was COLD! I was NOT happy! :(

Y'day's work out was a 15 min mixed bag weight circuit before DS' game and then Z Shred #8 later on before dinner - KILLER! :eek:

Today will be Z Wow #49. Looks like another KILLER! :eek::eek: It's on you tube if you wanna take a look-see and do it with me! ;)

Oh, I ordered my first Horizontal Conditioning dvd the other day....Bootcamp! I think I might die!:eek:

Um...so yeah...KILLER doesn't even do ZWow #49 justice! O.M.G.!!!!:eek: I modified it to make it a wee bit easier and it STILL killed me!:eek::eek::eek: Go to you tube NOW and check it out! I dare ya! I bet you start sweating just watching it!;)

Hi ladies,

No workout to report for today. I'm calling it a well deserved rest day after my 10 mile run yesterday! Tomorrow calls for a 4 mile run...I'll see how my knee feels.

I had to work today, Columbus Day is not a Holiday for me. Booh. I see that Lori just had Thanksgiving.

Wendy-I previewed of bit of the workout, those competition burpees would get the best of me for sure. I didn't watch the whole thing. Did you see they are bringing bodyrock.tv back? Lisa Marie is doing a real time October challenge. Exercising 6 days per week. Horizontal Conditioning is tough for sure. I burned in the 400 cal range, the cardio is HIIT and the ab work is tough.

Laura-did you have today off...or did you have to work like me?

Morning Ladies ..

I was on vaca ystdy - DH finally got off long hours .. so I took vaca day .. we got a lot done around the house/yard ... and went shopping .. we had NO FOOD in the house .. seems we were out of everything ..

SAT was gameday - but we got our exercise in .. wow .. did we do some more walking!! SUN spent in the fields and burning off - MON i took Brutus on a run .. yes run .. my run is basically his TROT .. but it was a nice long run .. in the woods .. my inner thighs are sore .. and my ankles (from unsteady ground) -

Wendy - OMG that zwow looks HARD - the burpees (how many???) and pushups would for sure do me in ... ugh!!! I may have to attempt that one tho .. just to see if I can .. looks like it hits all the muscles .. yikes!

Di - nope we were open ystdy - but I took vaca! I thought I read it wrong that Lori just had Thanksgiving .. wow ...

This morning's work out was ZWow # 58 - ZWOW 58 - Abs and Six Pack Cross Body Workout - ZuzkaLight.com - YouTube

I only had time for 2 out of the 3 rounds and it still killed me! :eek: I had to do it with the DOMS from yesterday's work out which I'm sure didn't make it any easier! :p

Laura:: There are 120 burpees in ZWow 49!!! :eek: Yeah, it pretty much DOES hit everything as evidenced by my all-over-DOMS I have today!:)

Diana:: WTG on the 10-miler! :D I didn't think BodyRock.tv went anywhere. I thought that's what is now called the Daily HiiT. Am I confused?? :confused: I can't handle Lisa anymore so I haven't done a work out of theirs in ages...I am prepared for HC to kill me so prepare my obituary for the Cathe Forums please.:eek::p
 
Hi Ladies,

I skipped my 4 mile run this morning cuz it was too cold for me. It should be a bit warmer so my plan is to run tomorrow morning. I did All Out Low Impact HIIT instead.

Wendy-Bodyrock was there old stuff, but the Daily HiiT site never functioned properly. Freddy talked about it and they are using the BodyRock.tv site for their current stuff now. Everyone liked how BR site functioned. Lisa has grown on me. :) I love Zuzana but am good with Lisa also. I saw all those burpees...and would definitely have to modify if I did them. I belong to another check-in as well and we are planning on doing a round of STS starting sometime in November....when I get back from visiting my girls! I plan to try the new w/o's and perhaps some Zwow too after my HM this weekend.

Laura-glad you got to take a vacation with your DH! Sometimes we need those days just to get caught up on household stuff.

Lori-happy late Thanksgiving!

Ystdy was a quick short 3 mile run ... my NEW shoes did awesome .. but need to be worn in .. b/c my feet were kind numb!!! Today I am planning on core dynamics or upper body T25 beta ..

Wendy - I am gonna try that workout .. b/c it looks awesome!!! Are you a member of Zuzkalite.com .. ?? .. or are you getting the workouts from the youtube site ???

DI - wow your half is this weekend .. WOW .. congrats .. and go rock it girlie!!!!

This morning was Z-Shred #19 and it was EVIL!!!! :eek:

100 body weight squats
Then...
10 burpees
1 forward and backward lunge per leg
9 burpees
2 forward and backward lunges per leg
8 burpees
3 forward and backward lunges per leg
and keep going until you get to 1 burpee and 10 forward and backward lunges per leg!
I used a set of 15# DBs for the lunges except for the final round where I dropped to 10's. I was DYING! :eek: I also did every push up and every jump in all of the burpees. OMG! INSANE! Loved it! ;)

Laura:: Glad you are lovin' your new shoes! Your work outs sound great! Yes, I signed up for Z-gym but some of the Z-Wows I've done are older ones that you can get on youtube for free such as the last two I did (49 & 58). I think Z-Gym starts with Z-Wow #70 IIRC plus the shreds, ropes, etc. Good stuff. I love it! :) So let me know what you think of Z-Wow # 49 when you do it! Heheh....{insert evil grin here}...;)

Diana:: Good luck on your HM! You'll do great! :D Oh running in the cold stinks. I can understand why you cancelled the run. I've done casual runs, training runs and ran races in the cold and they were all painful! :eek: I gotcha on the BR site now. Thanks for clarifying. :) So another round of STS for you huh? How many times will this make?

YSTDY: was T25 beta core dynamics ..DOMS in my obliques and back .. just the good kind not painful kind!! :D Today we are having safety lunch - IDK I am gonna try to do a longer run .. (if it isnt raining) .. or Flextrain!! :confused: :p time to be REAL sore all over again!! I am kinda scared to do a run .. b/c of some horrible events here lately .. things are not safe at all .. sooooo I may be sticking to flextrain .. or GO HOME and run .. but then I have to deal w/WILD PIGS .. gggrrrrrrrrrrr .. yup maybe flextraining today!

Wendy - another awesome workout - i am thinkin I am gonna try that first one TMRW .> WOOOHOO ..:confused: .. errrrrr ...for now I am woohooing!!! LOL :p

Hi Ladies,

My running taper ended up being non-existent. Today I woke up to snow on the grassy areas, GRRR. I'm not really ready for snow. The cooler temps don't bother too much, except I don't want to run in it.

On the BodyRock site Lisa is doing an October Challenge. I did w/o #10 on Wednesday, and yesterday morning was #1, and yesterday evening was number #2. According to my HR monitor, I burned over 400 cals with each of the BR's from yesterday. #10 was only 30 minutes so the cal burn was less. I'm really liking the circuits so may stick with these and Cathe until I leave on my trip.

The HM is this Sunday! Thanks for the words of encouragement. I talked to my training partner and she is totally disappointed about not being able to run it. She is going to try to walk it though. The plan is that after I finish I will walk back and find her and hopefully complete the race with her. I'm not sure what the time limit is for the half, but she understands she may not "finish" the race.

My weigh in this week...same as last week. I'll take it. According to my home scale, I have 13 more pounds to go to get to my goal. I may actually have to go buy a couple pairs of pants this weekend.:D

Laura-you are rocking the T25's girl! I've only done the Alpha ones so far. I should give the Beta ones a try. Oh my gosh, wild pigs are the safer choice....you crack me up! Flextraining seems to be your best option...IMO!:p

Wendy-Seems like Zuzana is your trainer of choice right now! I do miss her. I think the variety and circuits are what I like best with Zwow and BR too. Not sure how many STS rotations this will make, 6 maybe? I'm a tad concerned with doing all the heavy weights while I'm trying lose weight. If that becomes problematic....then I'll have to figure something out.

Lori-I see the neighborhood kids are eating at your house a lot. Obviously you have the best food, your the best cook, and the nicest mom! That all sounds good to me!

Hello Ladies and TGIF!!!:D

Well, a few days ago I fell "victim" to the calls of Horizontal Conditioning after completely ignoring it for quite a long time! I ordered HC Bootcamp because she was having a sale. It's a circuit work out of horizontal conditioning and hiit intervals. I did 30 mins of the work out this morning for the first time (10mins warm up/15mins work out/5mins stretch). It was ridiculously difficult and before the stretch was over I was in pain! My shoulder blade/back on the ride side were KILLING me! Now I have arthritis that can affect that same spot and the pain is pretty much exactly the same so I am assuming I somehow triggered it with the work out and/or stretches at the end. I was also already tired and sore from my previous 5 days of Zuzanna work outs. That all being said, my first HC experience was NOT a good one :( but I will give it the benefit of the doubt and do it when I feeling recovered, fresh and strong and see how I like it then! So stay tuned!:)

So y'day I downloaded 2 apps to my phone that I was very excited about and ended up deleting both of them. :mad: One was an app that someone created to be used in conjunction with the Zwow's on You Tube but it didn't seem to work properly. :mad: The other was the official Bodyrock app. I haven't been doing Bodyrock coz I'm not Lisa's biggest fan but their app is fantastic so I was going to try it. Only one problem...The videos wouldn't play on my phone for some reason. :mad: Oh well! Thankfully I didn't pay for either and ended up downloading a totally different free app that has 30 days of body weight training interval circuit work outs on it to do. We'll see how this one works out!:rolleyes:

Diana:: I lost weight using STS in conjunction with WW but it was slow. The weight loss definitely sped up once STS was complete and I switched over to working out with Z. :) Oooh love buying new (smaller!) pants! You go (shopping!) girl! Enjoy the fruits of your labor! You've been kickin' ass and takin' names! :D Good luck on the HM! I am excited for you! :D

Max Capacity Trainer app Week 1/Day 1: 50 sec work / 10 sec rest x 4 rounds of squats, push ups, lunges and planks.

Plus..

ZWOW # 75: 3 rounds:
  • 10 One-Arm Dumbbell Squat(Each arm; keep your back straight and abs tight, raise your arm above and squat down, then switch arms)
  • 20 Low-Jacks (keep your upper body straight, then after 20 do a push-up)
  • 30 Dragon Lunges + Side Kick (alternate sides)
  • 20 Low-Jacks ((keep your upper body straight, then after 20 do a push-up
  • 10 Squat & Twists (each leg; se your dumbbell)
  • 20 Low Jacks (keep your upper body straight, then after 20 do a push-up)
DONE!:D
 
Hi Ladies,

I completed the HM yesterday, it wasn't pretty but it I finished. The temp was a bit cold. I'll post pics of my friend and I pre and post race hopefully tonight. They started the HM and FM at the same time and in the same waves. Needless to say it was very crowded until about mile 5. I just never really warmed up or found my groove. They were out of water at the mile 8 water station, thankfully they had some at mile 11. I was anticipating finishing in the 2:20 range based on my training times, but think it was in the 2:40 range...very disappointing. I'm glad it's over.

I've been enjoying the BR 30 Day October Challenge workouts. They are real time. I swapped out my very old workout dvd player for an older blue ray that we replaced elsewhere in the house....anyway, one of the kids added the BR w/o's to my youtube library on the dvd player and now I can do the BR w/o's on the tv instead of my laptop!!! So much nicer.

Wendy-the Physical Therapist I saw for my knee is a huge advocate of bodyweight exercises. If I can recall the app name I'll let you know. I had it on my old phone, but didn't download it on my new phone. The Horizontal Bootcamp w/o I have is really tough....the cardio is tough and so are the core exercises! Sorry you injured yourself with this w/o.

Hey Ladies.

Today's Max Capacity work out was 4 rounds of 50/10 again of Decline Push ups, Bird Dogs, Squat Pulses and Supermans then I did a work out from the Gorilla app. It was the first work out on level 3 (there are 4 levels of difficulty to chose from) and it was 4 rounds of 10 tuck jumps, 10 split jumps and 10 (MORE!) decline push ups! Needless to say, I was ALL DONE with push ups by the end! :eek:

Good work out!

I think, though, that I am going to start subbing in inverted rows for some of the crazy amounts of push ups I am doing lately. Need to work that back a bit more and give the chest a bit of a break I think!

I got Z Shred # 18 done this morning....:eek:

50 competition burpees to start :eek:
and then 2 rounds of the following::
20 squat n knee up twist
30 tricep kick ups
20 alt leg press
20 inverted rows (she had push ups here)
10 reverse foot elevated squats per leg.
Then 1 round of 50 strict mountain climbers to finish!:D

I did Flextrain and a run ... nothing ytstdy .. but today will be either a short run or T25 .. or both ??? depends on time and mood and HEAD!!! UGH

OH .. and H-BC.. YUP .. I did it in full first time - and was sore for a week I think .. HORRIBLE on chest n core!!! but it was DIFFERENT .. but now has ADDED DDREAD factor to it ..
