DAMAGE CONTROL - OCTOBER

Hi Ladies,

So frustrated....am up 2lbs....seriously....I ran a HM on Sunday. The leader indicated this is normal and she's it all the time. I also recall my weight being up after my triathlons too. Still is very frustrating.:mad:

My training partner and I are doing a 5K this weekend to benefit the technology department for the school she teaches at. I'm actually looking forward to a short race.:)

Laura-glad you are feeling better. Oh no, poison oak too. You just never catch a break. I did HBC all at once too...I've done it 3 times I think cuz of the DDDDREEEAAAADDD factor. Super tough, but so effective.

Wendy-you are rocking Z's workouts!!! So the new apps are great...I'll have to check them out. I use those kinds of apps more on my tablet than I would on my phone. It's nice to have options though. Really...50 competition burpees to start...well I would be done when I finished those! You are amazing.

This morning's work out was Week 1 Day 3 of the Max Capacity Trainer App.

4 rounds @ 50/10 of::
squat reach (I did squat curl press)
reverse lunge
drop squat
straight arm plank

Diana:: The 50 burpees took me several minutes to complete. They were HARD!!!! Sorry about the weight gain but I'm sure it's only temporary. Still aggravating though, I know. Hang in there!

Laura:: So you flaked on Z huh? :( For shame!!!! :p You need to try it! Seriously! DO.IT.NOW!!!!:D I got the app mentioned above plus Gorilla Trainer and something else called Circuit Training Pro. I haven't tried the last one yet.

today is forced rest day .. supposed to getting off work early .. well RIGHT NOW .. but DH is OF COURSE RUNNING late .. b/c i am not at home loading the truck and reminding him of things .. @#%$!@$#%!%#$% .. dang it!! and my time is already entered as vaca .. GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and here i SIT!!! :mad::mad::mad: MEN!

Wendy - thanks for the aps .. I am gonna like that ap!!! great workout .. I will GET ZWOW THIS WEEKEND .. SAT in fact!!! we have a Halloween party .. and I will be indulging .. so a good calorie burn is much needed!

DI - think the weight gain is due to lactic acid and increased blood flow from the half!!! it will be gone by this weekend!!

OK - so I am dressing as a zombie .. found a tutorial online and I am gonna try to do some latex scars and rips .. and try to fix my makeup like they showed .. TRY is the word here tho!! LOL :p I will take some pics and post them!! I figure if I screw up the makeup i will just be flaky zombie .. LOL!!

better run. . hope DH gets here soon .. or I am really gonna be ticked .. b/c I dont have a car .. or I could be running errands instead of here .. GGGGRRRR!!!!
 
Hey Ladies! :)

I had a leetle too much fun last night at the tricky tray :rolleyes::eek: so I slept in too late to get in a work out this morning. I admit to being a wee bit hung over but mostly just exhausted!

That didn't stop me though coz I got it done tonight instead! Here's what I did::

ZWow # 88---> (15 min AMRAP of 50 body weight squats {I did 40 because I added the *10 band rows to the work out}, 10 plank to push ups, *10 band rows, 10 jump squat-flying burpees & 10 side plank leg lifts per side)
plus
Gorilla Level 2 Work Out #7---> ( 3 rounds of 30 squat thrusts, 15 supermans & 5 pull ups which I am not embarrassed to say that I modified)

Saturday was a rest day bc I just ran out of time for a work out...:rolleyes:

Yesterday was my kickboxing class for charity and today is a rest day b/c I am uber sore!:eek:

Hoping to be back at it tmrw though! ;)

Hey Ladies ..

I took vaca FRI - we went to FL and FINALLY finished the kitchen .. woohoo!!!! then SAT went to a HAUNTED HALLOWEEN PARTY .. my makeup was a success .. but it took a LONG time ...:confused: .. but I was ZOMBIE'd out!!! (pics on FB) ... then I PARTIED out .. LOL .. and Wendy I DID have a hangover ystdy .. :eek::eek::eek: a little too much zombie punch :confused: :confused: :p SAT morning I went for a long run w/Brutus .. think it was a bit TOO long for him .. so next time I will have to run him then finish my run ...SUN i was a couch potato .. DID NOTHING but watch scary movies all day!

Found a show I am OBSESSED with now - the Witches of East End -on lifetime - it is a series .. comes on Sundays at 9 .. WOW .. AWESOME show .. w/Julia Ormond and Jenna Tatum and some HOTTIE guys .. whew!!

Wendy - great workouts ... I couldnt make myself workout ystdy w/my large head .. I was a lazy bum!! gotta get back on track b/c I feel like I gained 10# this weekend .. PMS monster IS NOT helping eitehr!! GGRRRRRRR :mad::mad: and it is no one's fault except my own :eek: :mad: :eek:

Hi ladies,

I've been keeping busy with my workouts. Saturday I ran a very hilly 5K, a fundraiser for the school my training partner teaches at. Sunday was GS C&T followed by BR October Challenge Days 7 & 8, and I was spent after that.

This morning was BR Oct Challenge Day 9. I'm doing day 11/12 on T/W. I started with Day 10 before deciding to do the challenge and starting at day 1.

Wednesday I head out to visit my girls and won't be back until Sunday night. I'm so looking forward to seeing Amanda, the girls and all their family!

I'm going to download some w/o apps to my tablet to take with me. Amanda also said she wants to go to the gym for BodyPump class too.

Did you see my fb pics of my son and DH? We walked in between all the football players and I could hear Jerod's teammates saying how much he looks like his dad! All my boys look just like him.

Wendy-sounds like you had a fun weekend! Working out for charity, you are awesome! Sounds like a rest day may be just what you need today! Enjoy it!

Laura-saw your Halloween pics on FB, what fun!!! I wasn't going to buy any Halloween candy since I'm not going to be home...but DH said to get some anyway and he would have Jerod hand it out!

hello Ladies ..

Ystdy was T25 beta cc - some of the weekend cabs came pouring out of me .. :confused: :p .. then tried to get home in time to ride my babies .. well it is now DARK at 6 .. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrr .. but I took them for a short ride w/the lights on .. time changes this weekend anyway .. so no more weekday rides!!!

Had a scare w/Brutus - IDK what happened .. he freaked out then his heart rate was weird .. IDK ..scared the H### outta me .. been up most of the night .. think he is goingt to the vet tmrw mrng just let him listen to his heart for my own peace of mind!!

Di - great workouts - i know you are excited to see your DGD's!!! how fun!!! Have a safe trip! I would love to go to a live bodypump class ... there aren't any around here!!! I would REALLY love to go to a live COMBAT class .. but again .. not any around here :(

Wendy - another great workout - YIKES at the reps .. LOL ..

Is is also FIRST OF MONTH .. so MAHEM will be at full speed THURS and FRI!!!!

Hi girls. Posting from my phone...this morning I overslept and almost didn't workout but then I remembered I had a new horizontal conditioning workout to try so I did what I had time for-about 15 mins maybe-and man was it tough but it's a short workout (about 20 mins) so I SHOULD, be able to do it in its entirety sooner rather then later!:/ Tmrw it's back to MCT and whatever else I might have time for. I want to get back to Z but my calves need to thaw out a bit more first. They are killing me from the kb class on Sunday!!!

Laura:: Yes Joey is dressing up as a Ninja and going trick or treating after school with a friend and his mom. He's excited! :)

More tmrw when I am posting from a pc! :)

This morning I did Z Shred # 13 with modifications for various reasons and I only had time for about 1 1/2 rounds coz I started too late :rolleyes:...

Workout Breakdown:
BUY IN - 1-min jump rope (I did high knees)

3 ROUNDS FOR TIME
  • 10 alt. single-leg box jump burpees (I did single leg jump on floor - space issue)
  • 5 double under jump ropes (I did tuck jumps b/c easier then running into another room to use rope)
  • 10 weighted pistol to deadlift (I did single leg squat instead of pistol - ability issue)
  • 5 double under jump ropes
  • 20 dumbbell deadlift to calf rasies
  • 5 double under jump ropes
  • 20 Alt. weighted step ups w/ leg lift
  • 5 double under jump ropes

Hello Ladies. :)

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

So this morning's work out was a "warm up" (HAH!) with Horizontal Conditioning Oct 1 volume's 1st segment of upper body and core (all of 5ish mins long on the stability balll but KILLER!)
This was followed immediately by MCT Week 2/ Day 5::
Decline Push Ups, Bird Dogs, Weighted Squat Pulses, Supermans all done for 8 rounds each at 20 w and 10 r (16 min total).

I WAS DRIPPING SWEAT and WORKING HARD! Not bad for a 21 min work out!!! :eek:

WE ARE SLAMMMMMMEED here . . first and third check dropped and we are soooo busy!!! and I am ILL!!!! ggggrrrrrrrrrr .. .

Ystdy: did supercuts .. I forgot about that workout .. NICE!! and my legs were burning .. have doms in the core from the marathon of sit ups and pushups at the end!!!

Today - a much needed DATE NIGHT .. woohooo .. so no official exercise!!

Wendy - NICE WORKOUTS .. hope Joey scored some nice Halloween goodies!! I had a scare last night .. when i got home (DH working) .. someone was down at his shop . . all I heard was a 4 wheeler when I got out of my car and the gate was locked .. :eek::confused: .. luckily the phone was ringing when I walked in .. and it was DH telling me he let his buddy in and he was down there ... WHEW!!!!

Hey girls. Posting from my phone bc we are on our way to my mom's house. Don't worry, my dh is driving. Lol.

Today's workout was short but intense. I made it up myself...

Started with my usual warm up and then added some reps of exercises that my boss at the studio wants me to do to get down pat so they will be easier to explain to clients. 1) single leg squats 2) DB storks 3) KB get ups. From there I did 3 tabata circuits...all were 8@10/20. First two were single arm swings and burpees (including push up and jump). Last one was reverse slider lunges and slider mountain climbers. I think the last one was the hardest! I actually to wanted to try doing it a second time despite the pain (lol) but I had no more time left. :(

First segment of Horizontal Conditioning 101 Club October edition (5 mins): Core work on the Stability Ball.

MCT Week 2 Day 6 (16 min interval work out): Squat curl press/Reverse Lunge/Drop Squat/Straight Arm Plank

ZWow # 88 (15 min AMRAP): Air Squats, Inverted Rows (instead of plank to push up), Jump Squat Burpees, Side Plank Leg Lifts
 
This morning's work out:

2 Full KB Get Ups L and R
10 DB Storks R
10 Single Leg Squats R
10 DB Storks L
10 Single Leg Squats L
x 2 rounds

Then....

Gorilla Work Out Level 3, Work Out #3:
10 Full Burpees
6 Pull Ups (on my Ultimate Body press so more like inverted rows here. Did them all with bent knees but with only one foot on the ground :))
x 4 rounds
