Hey guys,:)

Going to make this really quick at work much to do:rolleyes:

Long time, I know right he…he… I’m going to make this short and sweet. The reasons I haven’t been around was this. On July 17. 2013 I was in a bad accident with my bike, yeah! Broken back, broken left foot and 2 broken toes. Right foot 1 broken toe I know…both knees badly damaged and on the right side badly damaged, first I thought my kidney was damaged. I just came back to work last week; full week and it just bout killed me sitting here. My boss is buying me a new chair needed it anyways. Oh…my bike was total.

This happened on Lee Road I was just crossing Shaker, I decided to take a quick ride after work hot day just finished washing my hair told my puppy Tank, I’ll be right back………..right back was 2.5 days later I was in Hillcrest Hospital. Too, had Physical Therapy for 8 weeks.

My foot is still swollen can’t wear high heel shoes like I do, arrrrrrrgh, been wearing flats (hate it) lol. So that’s what your girl been dealing with. Now…….I’m ready to eases back into shape. I’ll see you guys tomorrow:)

Hi Ladies,

The Holiday Meltdown class started last night. The first night is always a shorter w/o because we are weighed, and fill out paper work on our goals. The instructor spends a bit of time talking to us about goal setting, healthy eating etc. We did some track work and my knee was hurting then and it is now too. Definitely going back into the dr. I need to determine the root problem and work on fixing it.

I've decided to do a 21 day cleanse. Here's the site: 21 Day Raw Food Reset | How to Reclaim Your Get-Up-And-Go in 21 Days
The facebook group started yesterday, but since I was traveling I need a few days to review the materials and go shopping. They provide weekly shopping meals, daily meal plans, recipes and support.

I've also decided to another round of STS. I'll give M1 a try and see how my weight is impacted. If it starts going up, then I'll go back to circuits. Today will be the Day 15 of BR Oct 30 Day challenge.

TG-Oh my gosh, so glad you are okay now. How frightening. We are glad to have you back. Recovery takes a long time. We expect our bodies to recover much quicker than they actually do. Hope you feel better soon. What kind of activities can you do?

Laura-Glad you were able to enjoy the nice weekend. Soon it will be winter time. Crossfire, haven't done that one in a long time either. It's definitely nice having a large selection of w/o's to choose from. :D

Wendy-new November thread....post here.:) Have you started the process for your next certification? Which one was it again?

Morning Ladies!!

Ystdy: 3 mile run at lunch - then supercuts timesaver after work! DOMS: Hammies and side of back! Today i think I am going to attempt to get back to my heavy weights at lunch :confused: it is gonna KILL me!!! Then this afternoon may be core cardio ..

Teddygirl - YIKES - soooo glad you are ok .. my gosh ... what you have been thru!! that is horrible .. I cant imagine!! I wouldnt begin to give any advice on easing back into exercise .. wow .. broken back??? Guessing you have been in PT ... ?? .. dont try to do too much too soon and listen to your doctors!!! How is tank????

Di - no more animal products, no eggs, no dairy, no meat:confused::confused::confused: I wouldnt make it!!! that is pretty much what I eat minus the dairy!! LOL ... I am interested to see how you are gonna do STS and this cleanse tho ?? I have a friend that teaches yoga and owns a fitness center she did a month long raw cleanse and believes in them .. she mainly always eats raw .. but she does eat the occasional meat and drink the occasional drink .. but I wouldnt make it .. although I know my body NEEDS it .. if only for a short while!!! I would be interested to hear your progress and how you feel etc!!!

Wendy - whats on schedule for today!!

Oh- Brutus AKA: the destroyer .. struck again .. this time my BRAND NEW PAIR OF BOOTS .. there were at least 6 pair of shoes laying there .. and he picked THE MOST EXPENSIVE NEWEST PAIR .. I have only worn them 2 times .. #$!@#@#$%@#$!%!$:mad::mad: chewed the heal ... RUINED them .. I swear .. I think Buster is reincarnated into Brutus .. he used to do teh EXACT same thing!!:mad::mad:

Morning Guys,

This morning, I did Candace......good workout!! My foot is sore it’s still swollen, dang. But, need to let Ms. Foot know who's the boss:mad::p;) My back is feeling good. The only workout I feel I cannot and will not do is Step Aerobics; as I continue to recover. I know I will have to modify some workouts, but, I won't know unless I get into it, right?

Thank you, guys for all your warm words and concerns. But, I'm doing so much better. Glad to be home :)

Tank is good thanks for asking (put a smile on my face)

Ladies, thank you, sure it's going to take a decade for my body to recover...but, if I do nothing it will take that much longer. I truely believe moving one's body helps the recovery process, did lots of that in PT. I will listen to my body as I continue on my journey back. I tell you tho, if I had not been working out, Doctor said I'd probably been in much worsts shape. Why, even in this traget accident, I BRACED MY SELF IN MID AIR. I can't explain it all I remember is saying to God. Lord pleases don't let me fall on my head, (bout to cry) everytime I think of what he did for me I was in the spirt in mid air.

Hello to Di and WEndy ..

OK .. gotta jet .. have a great one!

Hi ladies,

I was down 1.2lbs this week for a total of 16.8! I've kinda been stuck around this weight for several weeks. I'm planning on starting the cleanse on either Friday or Saturday. I purchased all the week 1 groceries, $60 which I didn't think was too bad.

This morning I did BR Oct. Challenge day 16. I really like these circuit workouts and am seeing results. Oddly enough, I see the biggest difference in the abs/ribcage area although I carry most of my weight in my hips/thighs.

I finally went to the Dr. for my knee pain and will be starting physical therapy probably next week. I'm interested to here what the real problem is.

Laura-well you are rocking the double workouts! I'll be getting in double w/o's on Mondays and Thursdays now that Holiday Meltdown class has started. I'm supposed to start STS, but am really loving the BR Oct challenge. What to do...what to do....

TG-so glad you are well on your way to recovery. I'm all too familiar with foot pain. Foot swelling takes a long time to go away. Elevate as often as possible is my only suggestion. I'm sure Tank was lost without you for those few days.

Wendy-what was your w/o today? Btw, I downloaded the Gorilla and Max Capacity apps! Rylee and I did the first level 3 gorilla w/o...and she loved it! Thanks for sharing those!

Good morning Guys:)

This morning, I did Beachbody, One on One; Plyo Legs, with our guy Tony. I really enjoyed this workout, feeling good. Seconds ago, I finally took the plunge and ordered Hip Hop ABS:eek:. Last night, while laying in bed I viewed a few of these workouts and thought heck for 19 buck get it. Know what I miss? My puppy being at home for 9.5 hours alone, dang...soon as the garage door opens, I hear him barking when I walk into the house puppy all over me. How do you guys deal with leaving your pet(s) at home.

Diana: Congrats, 16 lbs is awesome results not to mention the inches you lost ^^^5.

Poochy: Girl, awesome work, what can I say your workouts are always on point. Nice Job!!!

Fit Mommy: We must been posting at the same time. How are you? Nice workout for the week.

Monday's work out:

2 Full KB Get Ups L and R
10 DB Storks R
10 Single Leg Squats R
10 DB Storks L
10 Single Leg Squats L
x 2 rounds

Then....

Gorilla Work Out Level 3, Work Out #3:
10 Full Burpees
6 Pull Ups (on my Ultimate Body press so more like inverted rows here. Did them all with bent knees but with only one foot on the ground :))
x 4 rounds

Tuesday was a rest day.

Yesterday's work out was brutal!

I started with the first segment of the HC work out that I am pounding into the ground until I can do it w/o dying :rolleyes:....then I'll move on to the segment #2 and start all over again.

Then I moved on to MCT Week 3 Day 7....this week is all time attack work outs. They calculate a number of reps you need to complete for each of 4 exercises you did previously from the rep counts you entered. You have to complete the given number of reps for each exercises as fast as possible while maintaining good form of course! There are no rules as to how to break it up or how many/how long your rests are. That it up to you. The exercises/rep counts for me for today were Squats/120, Push ups/81, Lunges/90 and Forearm Plank Hold/210 seconds. It took me 30:49 to complete and I was dying! I used weight for the squats and the lunges of course. How could I not? ;)

Then this morning I did a round of Single Leg Squats, Storks and TGU's plus Gorilla Cardio Trainer Level 4 Work out #1 which was 7 rounds of 11 jump lunges (1 rep=2 jumps)/a 9 sec sprint/11 jump lunges/9 second sprint (yes, you had to do each move 2x to finish one round!) for time!

Di:: Congrats on the weight loss! You are kickin' azz and takin' names! :D Good luck on the cleanse. I have read up on the menus for things like that and they are usually quite strict. Good for you for having the motivation and will power to do it! :) I wouldn't be able to. So it's Holiday Melt Down time again, ey? Sounds to me like you are melting just fine on your own! ;) The certification I am going to be getting (assuming I can pass the test!) is the NASM PT CERT. I'll be ordering the materials for it right after the 1st of the year!

Laura:: Sorry about the boots. :( Are you sure Brutus isn't one of the pups at the end of the Turner and Hooch movie??? :p Great work outs this week!

TG:: OMG! I am sooo sorry this happened to you! How truly horrifying but sooooo glad you are on your way to a full recovery!!! Prayers, healing vibes and strength to you through the rest of your recovery!

TGIF!!!

Hi Ladies,

Last night we did stability ball/medicine ball work...and my abs are feeling it! We also did 4 sets of suicides carrying the med ball and 10 sets of stairs..yep...carrying the med ball.

I'm still trying to weigh myself on most days, and the scale was very kind to me this morning. Down a couple more pounds from my Wednesday weigh in. From today's weight-I have 10.2lbs to go to be at goal. I'm not reading too much into it though, just happy to see a number I haven't seen in years.:p

Did any of you look at the November rotation? It looks really good to me. I'm starting STS tomorrow with another check-in group. I'm dropping it like a hot potato if my weight starts going up though.

Wendy-you are rocking some killer workouts! I like the Gorilla w/o's, short & sweet and allow time to add on other stuff. I don't recall if I've actually done an MC w/o yet or not. I only have HC bootcamp, and it is tough. You got this...keep up the good work. You'll probably discover you can do segment 2.:p You'll do great with your NASM certification. I know you say you hate school, but you got this. Plus you have some experience behind you know too! Have you considered getting your group fitness instructor training? Are you even interested in that?

TG-oh yes, good ole Tony Horton! Hip Hop Abs is super fun. I only had it for a short time before giving it to Amanda. Poor Tank, unfortunately I can't offer any suggestions as we do not have any pets at the moment. When we did have dogs, the kids would let them in when they got home from school but they were still left alone for a large part of the day.

Laura-oh my gosh, sorry about the boots. Shouldn't Brutus be out of this phase by now? What's on your agenda today?

BR October Challenge Day 18 for me this morning.

TGIF ..

Morning Ladies ..

sorry I was MIA ystyd - had an all day out of office meeting/session .. was interesting .. then we did some "charity" work .. painting a new boys and girls club room ... SIL said I was like a painter on crack .. LOL .. we worked circles around everyone else ... we had 4 walls painted before some of them even knew what was going on .. I had paint all over me .. my face .. arms hair .. LOL .. worked up quite a sweat!!! had it dripping off me!! then we went to CC and did beta rppd circuits .. SIL had not done that one .. think she liked it .. it is my favorite!!! Then was able to get home in time to ride my babies .. was nice afternoon!!

Wendy - AWESOME workouts!!! I think Brutus is JUST like the dogues in Tuner n Hooch ..and I think he is my Buster re-incarnate!!! LOL .. only BIGGER .. like having a small horse in the house!! he is a little more lovey dovey than Buster was .. Buster was 'Da Man ... but Brutus likes to be loved on!!

Di - woohooo congrats on the weight loss .. not far from your goal .. congrats!! that is awesome!!! so are you starting your cleanse today ?? Do report on how you feel... energy levels etc .. I am interested to know .. (if you dont mind)

TG: i have to leave my pets long hours too .. BUT .. my 2 inside dogs .. they have each other ... and i also have 2 outside pets .. we have always had multiple dogs .. when I had Buster he was the only inside dog and I felt sooo guilty leaving him w/no company .. that is why I got the female .. and it did make a huge difference ... so that is what I would reccommend .. although that may not be doable for you... unless there is a puppy day car place in your area .. I know there are some in nearby towns that offer that service .. they exercise and socialize your pets while you work .. ??? ... again .. that may not be doable ... I always left the TV on for Buster when he was alone (this may have just helped ease MY guilt .. not sure if it helped him .. lol) ..

well .. today .. I think is a REST day ... DATE NIGHT .. think DH and I are going out tonight .. then tmrw have an early ball game .. WAAAAARRRRRR EAGLE!!!!!!! then a party that night .. . and .. HEY ... ITS A LOOONG WEEKEND >> WOOOOHOOOOO!!!

have a great one ladies!

Morning Guys, :D

TGIF.........Workout this morning; started with a 20 minute jog and then GS back shoulders and biceps, man oh man forgot how good this workout is.

My son said he'd stop in on Tank every now and again. Poor pup, when I got home yesterday he almost cried he was so happy to see me:( Thanks guys. BBL:)

Diane: Nice....okay, I gotta ask, what are you doing to drop them lbs?

Hello Ladies and TGIF for sure! :D

This morning's work out had my storks, single leg squats and tgu's in the warm up and then it was on to the segment of HC that I am working on and finally ZWow #88 (for the 3rd time!). I think I will do it once more within the next few days before moving on to a new one!!! ;)

Laura:: OMG I am a horrid painter and therefore sooooo sloooowwww! When I painted DS' bedroom back when I was laid off, it took me for-freakin'-ever! Like a full day I think just to put one coat on!!! Then DH goes in there and puts the second coat on in maybe 2 hours flat!!!! UGH! So you worked out covered in paint??? :p

Di:: I came up with a cool new burpee variation during a group session last week. My boss doesn't allow the push up and jump up in his burpees there for form/safety reasons but I wanted to make the burpees a bit more challenging and/or different so I had them go down, legs out, legs in, stand up, rear lunge R, rear lunge L and repeat. Try it sometime but do lunge jumps instead! ;) When I first set out to get certified I considered the group cert but I don't need it for the group sessions I do at the studio and after mulling it over I decided that I would be a TERRIBLE group instructor! Having to memorize a choreographed routine to have people follow along with!?!? HAH! IDTS!:rolleyes: In addition, you just can NOT do that full time and since full time work is my goal I decided to put my time and effort into improving upon the PT skills/knowledge as much as possible instead. :)

Nice work out, TG.

BBL!

Hi Ladies,

I started the 21 Day cleanse yesterday and have to say the day 1 meals were all good! Today I'm meeting some friends for breakfast at Mimi's. I will just do the best I can for this 1 meal and keep on going with the cleanse. I'm cutting my coffee consumption down but have not given it up. I love my coffee, and this cleanse doesn't even want you having decaf. 2 cups of coffee is my mainstay, but I could do with 1. I've noticed if I workout before I drink my coffee, I don't need it.

Today will be the start of STS for me. I'm looking forward to it, although I'm torn since I'm seeing good results with BR. Gonna give it a shot though.

Wendy-funny how you loathe painting;) It's not my favorite thing to do, but I don't mind it-especially for bedrooms & bathrooms. Thanks for the burpee suggestion. I'll give it a try and let you know how I do. Sounds like you've almost nailed HC segment 1. Way to stay with it!! I requested some information on NASM certification yesterday, and a nearby gym (Lifetime Fitness) offers it in a classroom setting.

TG-GS-love that serices. Great job! I went back to weight watchers towards the end of May. I also completed 2 triathlons over the summer and followed a 12 HM training schedule for my Oct HM.

Laura-My company also offers "days of giving" where employees work together to fix a house, clean up a yard, etc. Sounds like you have the most experience with painting!! I'm gonna have to give those Beta w/o's a try sometime. I still have some new Cathe's that I haven't done yet...and with STS starting...well let's just say I have plenty of w/o's to keep me busy.

off to breakfast...

Hi Ladies,

Guess everyone is busy this weekend. Today was STS Disc 2, Back & Triceps. I followed that up with this killer BR w/o...that skinny broad tried to kill me! So, if you are interested in a killer circuit w/o: 30 Day I Real Time Challenge #22 - Abs On Fire | BodyRock.tv

It's an hour long and she tacks on about 15 minutes of ab work. Super tough is all I can say!

Still going strong with the cleanse, the recipes have been good so far. There is a lot of repeating of recipes for this week, but honestly I don't mind. It's for a short time and it's easier to make several of the same meal at one time and have it on hand for later.

What has everyone been up to this weekend?

bbl

Good Morning. :)

Saturday was a forced rest day b/c I had a full schedule between working at the studio in the morning and then going up to my inlaws right after lunch and staying for dinner.

Y'day I did MCT Week 3 Day 8 which was another time attack. I divided my goal #s for each exercise by 4 and did the work out like this:

4 rounds of:
21 decline push ups
15 bird dogs
64 squat pulses ~ weighted (I did it pyramid style using 4 different weights. I started with the heaviest for round one)
17 supermans

I finished it in 19:13 minutes. It wasn't as tough as the first time attack I did. The next one is going to be killer though!

No work out for me this morning. I decided to sleep in. I'm not running the group training session tonight though so I can go work out if I want. That's what I am hoping for. It's been a long time since I've been able to participate in a group session!

Diana:: Wow that must've been brutal putting an STS back to back with a long BR like that! You rock! I used to do one body part from Pure Strength and then do a BR after it but PS isn't as long as STS and the BR's I did were like 15 minutes! It was a great rotation! Thanks for sharing the link to the BR but I'm not even going to look at it b/c I never (or at least very rarely) have an hour to spend working out anymore so there's no point. Let me know your thoughts on the NASM info when you get it. Classroom settings are the bomb! I'm not going that route for NASM like I did for WITS but I am seriously considering spending the extra $ to be able to attend the 2 day workshop that one of the cert pkgs offers atleast. My boss said it's a steal for the $$ and very helpful. Glad you are happy with the meal plan for the cleanse! That always heps!

BBL!

Hi Ladies,

STS Disc 3-Legs completed! Class tonight will cover cardio!

Wendy-Yes, it was a very long workout for sure. Normally I would've just done straight cardio ala HIIT or Tabata. I want to complete the 30 day challenge though. At first I thought today was a rest day for you...and glad you were taking one, but now I see you will be working out tonight instead. You go girl!!! I'll let you know what I find out on the NASM Certification. I do like that it is through a gym so you have immediate employment options available.

What's Laura & TG up to today? Let me guess, they probably have the day off work...not I...I'm at work.

bbl

Hey...

I opted out of working out at the studio so I could stay home and cook the now rare meal for my boys.

I did Z Shred # 18 after dinner though!

Here's the OFFICIAL Breakdown: 2 rounds for time!

Buy-In: 50 Competition Burpees
•20 Squat Twist Knee-Ups
•30 Tricep Kick-ups
•20 Weighted Step-Ups
•20 Incline Push-up Shoulder Touch
•10 Weighted Rear Foot Elevated Split Squats
Buy-Out: 50 Mountain Climbers

*I changed it up a bit though by doing 10 burpees at a time following each exercise in the first round and then I did 10 mountain climbers at a time the same way for the second round. I already did this one "as written" so I felt like doing something a little different. KILLER just the same!

Di:: This is why I loved the WITS internship program - for immediate employment possibilities - and it worked like a charm! It was worth every minute I "worked" for free! :D I would've let today be a rest day but I just took a forced one on Saturday so I'm far from over-due for one. I think tmrw would have been my scheduled one if I hadn't had no choice but take one on Saturday. Nice job with STS legs and then you will do cardio at class!? My legs would be like lead! You rock!:)

Ok, off to bed with me now.
Goodnight!
