Damage Control July :)

Good Morning:)

I am up early enough to have time for a quick check in. I don't know why but I woke a lot through out the night. Then again at 4:30 and I haven't really been back to sleep since. Hopefully it doesn't catch up with me to much today. But it gives me a little more time anyway.

Yesterday I did shoulders and chest, the baby woke before cardio but I did manage to do 3 sets of tabatacise. Then last night DD watched the boys for me to go for a quick run and then I did 30 mins of Bobs yoga. I was enjoying it....I really needed that stretch! I should aim to do it at least twice a week. Whats my other option? To sit and watch tv? I would have done the whole thing but DH called and wanted me to make him a sandwich and at this point it was almost 11.

Wendy** I guess you enjoyed the race:D. Not that I didn't think you would! A challenge is always good and it makes us realize how good a shape we actually are in.

Laura** Oh that weather would cause havoc on my hair! Rain and humidity! I probably wouldn't even bother doing my hair! LOL Its been nice here but its been nicer home..hard to believe!

Diana** Im glad that resort was on your short list:) When were you thinking of going?? I need to get our passports renewed as well. Flights from here are a lot cheaper so who knows, mid winter we might decide to get the *ell out of -35 weather!

I am not sure what workout I am doing! I always start with abs while I am looking at the dvds....kickboxing is in my head but we shall see!!

Morning Ladies!

Ystdy - I did combat core attack at lunch and t25 speed 1.o after work - my rib cage is sore - ystdy was FIRST day in a month we didnt get rain :eek: and the sun is actually shining today :eek::eek::cool: but it is HOT .. geesh .. stiffling hot!! and HUMID!! Not sure what today will bring .. my car looks like it has been running a MUD race .. so I may run it to the car wash at lunch - thinking combat plyo hiit may be on order for tonight .. or ab intervals ... not sure .. we will see!! If I dont wash my car .. may go to CC and do heavy weights :confused: ummmmm have been neglecting that :confused::confused: I will prbly die!!

Lori - yes you would be wearing your hair up down here .. think it is 100% humidity .. I mean you walk outside and your skin starts weeping :( now that the sun is out w/the humidity is is gonna be worse .. the heat index is gonna start climbing! Nice workouts!!

I've been busy at work....ugh...wish I didn't have to work. Anyway, I've been keeping up with my w/o's-Mon: GS BSB, STS Total Body-leg premix and core, bootcamp that night, Tues-Swimming, Wed-HIIT 40/20.

Wendy-congrats on the Spartan Race!!! I'll have to see what the Super Spartan is, guessing a longer distance with more obstacles! Trust me, I don't clean things nearly as often as I should. Sometimes I just wish Lori's mom would come visit me and take care of all that.;) You've been getting in some nice w/o's!!! I always get good ideas from them.

Lori-I'm thinking of taking the whole family in May, after Jerod's graduation. It's over $6K though and I'm not sure DH will go for that. It could be the last time for a family vacation...with the boys getting older and moving out etc. We don't take many family vacations anyway. I'm going to bring it up to DH when we are at our condo in September. Jerod's passport needs renewed...it's expired. I'm not sure if I should wait until February when he turns 18 or just renew it now. I'll have to go check the website.

Laura-we finally got some rain!!!!! Our temps dropped back into the 80's for a few days, but are back in the 90's now. I have course curly hair and humidity is terrible for it. I just clip it up! I'm missing heavy weights too, but oh well...another 3 weeks of tri training....then I have to start HM training.

off to mow the lawn....and praying I don't see any snakes!

Hi Girls. :)

So I worked last night and then the owner/my boss wanted to go over a few things with me. He is going to start giving me 2 PT sessions at once starting this Tuesday to get me used to it (I only did it that one time as an intern so far) and in a couple weeks I will start running as many Saturday group sessions as I can make it to since they usually are the most crowded and he wants me to get comfortable training larger groups then I am currently used to dealing with. His goal is to be able to have me work there alone for more then just an hour at a time so I need to be prepared for whatever comes through the door. He also wants me to consider getting a NASM certification. He said as far as he is concerned it's the best certification out there and if I do it, it will mean an automatic salary increase for me there! I want to do it. I just have to figure out when I am going to find the time to study! :eek::confused::rolleyes: I am going to start saving the cash for it in the meantime...Things are definitely progressing for me there and I am super-excited about it! :D

Di:: Nice work outs you've been doing! When is your tri?? So didja' see any snakes when you mowed the lawn? Yes, the Super Spartan is longer w/more obstacles. You guessed it! ;)

Laura:: My car hasn't been washed in many moons! :( Is yours all sparkly now? :) So let's hear your DOMS report of the day! :D

Lori:: Have your DD's multi-legged hairy friends "escaped" yet? I would freak out just knowing they were in the house with me at all! :eek: Another fan of Bob's YFTW? Woo hoo! :D

Morning Ladies ..

I had external training ystdy - "Dealing With Difficult People" ... :confused: ... a day WELL SPENT .. very good class ... very interesting stuff .. learned a lot ... and want more!! :eek: yes i said that .. I learned a lot but also learned I need to learn MORE!! :p I got into a bad traffic jam afterwards on interstate and got an FFFN migraine tho .. #$!@#$!@%#$#$ .. crap!! I cant stand traffic and Montgomery is HORRIBLE at 5:00 rush hour!!

well the weekend is here and MORE RAIN is in the forecast .. :mad::mad::mad: we can NOT catch a break at all!!! it is ridiculous!!!

Wendy - wow great workout - and great news about more training sessions .. wonderful!!! sounds like your boss is really impressed w/our mighty mouse!!! :D:D:D

Hello Ladies.:)

Quick check in before I head to bed. This morning's work out was a great group session at the studio. Tmrw's plan is to head to the park after Church to get in some running, walking, hill repeats and body weight exercises.

Tonight my DH went out to get himself some beer after dinner. He was gone for a oddly long time but I didn't think anything of it. Just figured he made an extra stop. Well, I was right but I had no idea where he had gone until he hands me a box with a Junior look-a-like in it! OMG! So cute and already pretty hand tame! Jr. took a lot more work to hand tame but it was worth it! I was able to pick up this guy right away. He's a bit skittish still but I'm sure he'll calm down. He's hangin' out with me right now as I type this. It's freaky how much he looks like Junior! His name is Henry! :) My son and I are tickled pink to have him and my DH is da bomb diggity for surprising us with him!!! :D

Good Morning:)

I started vacation on Friday but I don't think we are going anywhere...esp after last nights trip to a restaurant! OMG, Stephen was out of control. It was weird. It was like he had 10 cups of coffee in him. I took him outside while we waited for our food, DH held him while I ate and then I took him back outside while DH ate. We visited the next town, which is 20 mins away and even the drive was painful! So that's when we decided that we aren't going to torture ourselves!!!

Yesterday I went for a 16 k run and it was good. I kept a 4:50 pace. I don't know if I will do any cardio today. Ill be doing weights today forsure and abs. DH is gone golfing so I may start early, depending on where the boys are playing. They are in and out a lot.

Wendy** Sounds like everything is working out pretty good for you!:) Your braver then I am with those group sessions. I guess its just a matter of getting into it! Enjoy your workout today!!

Diana** Yeah its expensive no doubt. I don't think its as expensive from here. I don't think it was 4000 for all of us but the baby is free. Everyone in our house needs their passports renewed. I shouldn't have let the expire cause I think its easier just to update them or whatever.Hopefully DH will go along with it.

Laura** Well, I'm not moving there anytime soon;) I would probably have to cut my hair off! The weather hasn't been that great here. The kids are outside with pants on:mad:

I may come back later to report my workout! I should be able to check in this week cause Im off!

Today's work out::

5k run/walk in the park with my old running buddy. We made several stops to do bodyweight exercises through out plus we did a few hill repeats to finish it off.

Total time was about 1:20.

Good stuff!:)
 
Hi ladies,

I've had a busy weekend. Yesterday I did a solo 15 mile bike ride and then Muscle Max....laundry etc. I also picked up the wetsuit I rented for open water swimming this morning. The water was really choppy today and made the experience even worse.

Open water swimming is so daunting for me I'm about ready to throw in the towel. I would rather just struggle through it ONCE during the tri and stop torturing myself with this practicing. It's like doing something you don't like over and over again expecting that you'll somehow start to like it. I don't. My training partner isn't very happy about this but she understands. We are discussing participating in the Stroke & Stride on Thursday...it's a half mile Open Water Swim, and 5K.

Laura-another headache....booh. Hope you can get a handle on these migraines, they seem to be coming on more frequently. Hope you able to enjoy date night and the rest of the weekend. We are still in a heat wave, upper 90's UGH....so thankful for central air.

Lori-Wow, you get vacation already and you haven't even been their a year yet??? I'm guessing Canadians must get as much vacation as our Europeans!:p Our European counterparts at work are either on vacation or holiday it seems. They have a lot more days off than we do in the US. I've had my share of restaurant nightmares when my kids were little, hugs to you girl.

Wendy-Way to go at work Wendy!!!! When you teach the group training do you participate also? Our trainer doesn't participate in boot camp, cuz she usually directing us at certain stations, correcting form, giving instructions and alternate exercises etc. Congrats on Henry, your latest addition to the family! I saw his pic on FB, juniors twin is right!

I think my training partner and I are swimming tomorrow morning...at the pool...thank god.

Decided that today is a rest day coz I slept late and didn't feel like rushing. I have some nice LB DOMS from y'day's work out anyway. :)

Di:: Sorry you aren't liking the open water swims. I give you credit for doing a tri simply b/c of the swimming! No, I don't do the work out with the members when I am instructing a group session. I show them the exercises and then correct form, etc while they are working out like your BC instructor does.

Lori:: Sorry about DS2 misbehaving but that's what kids do! :rolleyes: LOL So you are going for the staycation this time? IDK how people do that. I like to have a day off to hang at home here and there but that's it. Beyond that I wanna go some where! Being home is BORING! :rolleyes: On that note - ENJOY! :p:D
I had no choice on the group sessions. That's part of what the studio does so it's part of my job. It was the first thing I did. I am getting used to it but I am going to start running the Saturday morning groups this coming weekend and they tend to get a lot more people then the weeknight's so it will be a bit more intimidating for me. :confused::eek:

Laura:: LOL-of course the boss is impressed with me...but only because HE groomed me!:) I think that class you took is one that everyone should take! With the exception of those that are difficult of course. LOL Traffic jams are the worst! *Knock on wood* I don't have to deal with that anymore....I am sure at some point I'll encounter a problem but with the commute I have now but it will be few and far between! I dealt with it big time for years though so I feel your pain! :(

Yesterday I did all of the GS UB workouts. Todays will be a run and legs.

I don't know what we are doing today. I've thought about going to the nearest city and do a little shopping. They have more stores then we have here and they have a lechateau. I buy a lot of things online from that store...usually the outlet site. We were going boating tomorrow but the weather isn't suppose to be that great so we might do that Wed now. We also spoke about taking a trip into the city without the kids but I feel bad getting a sitter for all of those days. But its nice for DH and I to have some time together too without being interrupted a million times.

Diana** I think I would feel the same way about water. I spent a lot of time in it as a kid and I loved it. Even now I like pools...if they aren't to cold but I don't like open water. I don't know what's swimming around my feet:confused: And waves....ugh! NO thanks!

Wendy** I dunno, sometimes you have to weigh out the pros and cons! LOL I could go somewhere but then I have to eat in restaurants and listen to Rylan complain about how the drive is to far:confused:. Trust me, hes relentless!
I guess your body needed the rest if you slept in! My internal alarm clock went off most of last week but I am having no trouble sleeping till the baby wakes these days!

Its quiet around here:eek:. Where is everyone?

Monday's workout was as planned. I did a run and GS Legs and my legs knew it yesterday. Yesterday I did a 7 km run and supercuts. Today will be another run outside and I'm not sure what else. Some UB stuff for
sure.

Yesterday we went to the nearest city and did a little bit of shopping. When we got back we took the boys to the pool again, we took them on Monday night as well. It was the first time going and it was so nice. They have a kids section that is almost laid out like a beach. As you walk into the water, it gets deeper but its so warm. The boys loved it. Today they are going to the sitters and we are going in boat with one of DH's coworkers.

So who has T25...I'm thinking about getting it but I also need to order Cathes workouts as well.

Happy Hump Day, Ladies. :)

Yesterday morning I overslept so I did half of a TR work out after I finished training 2 clients last night instead. I only did half because it was after 8pm by the time I started working out!:eek: Then this morning I did Combat HiiT: Shock Plyo minus the floor track at the end. My poor sore tired legs were HATING me for making then endure this work out for certain!:eek:

I am getting another Spartan training work out ready in my head for the park this weekend with my running buddy. This time we will focus on hill repeats and kb swings! My studio is having a swinging contest next month to raise money for charity and I think she's going to do it with me so we need to practice! ;) Should be intense! :eek: I'm trying to talk my DH into the contest as well but he has no idea how to swing a kb so I'd have to teach him. I can surely do that being a trainer and all (LOL :p) but IDK if he's going to be a willing student! :rolleyes: Time will tell!

So did I mention that my boss at the studio has suggested I consider getting NASM certified? I don't have to but it would behoove me to so I'm going to do it. I just have to figure out when and how I will squeeze in studying! :confused:

Lori:: Nice work outs! So did you get anything good when you went shopping?? A boat? How fun! Will there be CABS on this boat too? :D I don't miss the days of having to get up with my son. I miss the baby days though...but only from 8am to 8pm! :p LOL I don't have T-25. I was going to order it but I have Cathe's new ones on pre-order and tons of dvds I don't even use! I have to start ebaying again but I just don't have the dang time!:eek:

Hi Ladies,

This week is flying by. Tonight is supposed to be the Stroke & Stride, 1/2 mile swim and 5k. I think it may get rained out or canceled due to lightning. To be honest, I'm kind of dreading it anyway so I wouldn't be heart broken if it is cancelled. We won't find out until later today.

Not sure what I will do this morning. Some kind of circuit....TBD when I get downstairs.

The football coach informed us that Jerod's Jersey is missing. Of course we can't find it at the house. If Jerod can't find it at school then we have to pay a $100 replacement fee.:mad: They are getting everything ready for their football trip in August.

Lori-Sounds like you are enjoying your week off! DH and I have a week off planned in September. I have T25 and I'm not sure you would like it. I've only tried each of the month 1 discs once...and I haven't tried the month 2 discs at all. They are difficult, but not really what I was expecting. I should probably do them a few more times before giving my review.

Wendy-woo hoo, the NASM certification would be awesome and open up some additional job opportunities for you. Although you may not care since you love the TR!! I can see where it would be hard to find time to study with a FT and PT jobs already. If it's important, you'll find the time. The KB swing challenge for charity sounds awesome! I'm so proud of you!!!

Yesterday's boat trip didn't happen. The weather never did clear up and today its a beautiful day:confused:. We spoke about going today but I sent the kids to the sitters yesterday and I might (LOL) feel bad if I had to do it again today. DH and I just did a few things on our own yesterday, it wasn't anything exciting but we did it kid free. It was so weird cause we came home and we could hear them at the sitters next door while we were sitting on the couch...LOL...Nice parents!:eek:

Yesterday I did BS C&S and a 9 km run. DH's coworker came over for dinner and I had 3 glasses of wine to many. Then we met up with some more coworkers around 10 but I was getting sleepy by then. When I drink, I need to move....dance and stuff and I knew it wasn't going in that direction so I didn't mind not drinking my 4th glass:eek: I don't know if I will do the other parts of BS today or just a long run and abs. Guess I need to figure out what we are doing.

Wendy** I did get a new swim suit and some undies and bras:). I placed a online order not that long ago so I just got some new clothes. Love that I don't have to wear a uniform to work! I was so tired of that! The only time I didn't was when I was pregnant. I saw two pregnant women yesterday and I wanted to barf. LOL! Your FB pic is so cool,btw. I only noticed it yesterday! You don't look happy to be dirty!

Diana** Don't you just love it when the kids stuff just vanishes?? No ones seen it?:mad: I always go through that with DD and most times its left at someones house or she didn't really look for it. I bought a jacket a couple of years ago, out of some bday money and she use to wear it all the time. I haven't seen it since I was pregnant with the baby. That's when she started wearing my lulu and I decided to pack it all up until after he was born to keep her mitts off of it. I looked for my Bench jacket and it was gone. She either let one of her friends wear it or she wore it some where and left it there. She claims that she didn't but who else would have??:mad: I know that there was always kids clothes at my house and I never knew who owned it so Im sure my coat is sitting some where! Did it rain last night or did you get to swim? LOL

Hola Chicas. :)

This morning started out great with 5 mins of kb swings to officially start my training for the challenge but didn't continue that way when I got into a car accident while bringing Joey to school. :( We are both fine and the accident wasn't my fault thankfully but my car is still pretty messed up so I am home for today and will drive DH's car to work tmrw instead....My poor car. :(

Tonight I am going to the studio to participate in the group session. DH can take Joey to football practice (which started last night!:eek:) in the 'vette :cool: so I can get to the studio. Didn't have to ask him twice. That's for sure. ;)

So I was lazy most of the morning except for doing some laundry but this afternoon I got off my rump and started cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen. I'll probably also make a "real" dinner since I'm actually home and will have time to do it!

Lori:: I'm actually not unhappy about being dirty in that pic. The mud actually felt good! Pigs are on to something! :p It's the gravel and rocks sticking me while I was crawling that were pissing me off! :mad: LOL-I'd have no trouble at all hearing my kid torment someone else in another house while I just listened in! :p Sorry the boat ride didn't happen. 3 glasses of wine?? WHOA! Wine makes me sleepy no matter what. I can sit idle and drink my captain or beer and be ok but even if I am moving around, wine has a tendency to put me to sleep. I should really start buying it again for my weekday night caps!:rolleyes:

Diana:: OMG, $100? I hope you can find that jersey!!!!:eek: I think DS' football cost $80 which includes every thing but cleats which we need to buy him. That's not TOO bad but practices are crazy! M through F from 6-7:30 until games start. Once the games start then it's 4 nights of practice plus a game on the weekends. OY. :rolleyes: DH has already offered to do most of the football taxi'ing since I am working an average 3 nights out of the week right now. I COULD tell my boss I won't be available as much for a while but I want to work as much as I can because I want the experience (and the $) and DH knows that. :) DH has even offered to quit his usual Thursday bowling league in the fall since I work lots of Thursdays and can't take DS with me. Of course, his plan is to join the Friday night league that we have gone with him to when he has subbed so that we can all go hang out but now that DS will have FB practice that is blown until FB is over. UGH. :mad: Always something! :rolleyes: So definitely let us know how the stroke n stride goes if it's not cancelled! You will probably do better then you think you will!
