***DAMAGE CONTROL***January

Hi Ladies,

Does everyone have the day off today? I took a sick day since I'm having trouble with my foot. The incision site has been burning off and on for the past several days. I was afraid it might be infected so we cut the bandaging off. Although it looks disgusting, it doesn't look infected. The Dr. just called and said I could get my foot wet, no soaking but a shower is okay...Yay.

I've been feeling like crap lately and I'm sure its from not working out on a regular schedule and not eating my normal healthy foods. You don't really notice how good you feel when eating healthy, until you fall off the wagon for a few weeks.

Heading downstairs for some UB work and abs. Later today the kids and I can get all the Christmas stuff back under the stairs and the basement back in order.

How is everyone spending their day today?

Posting from my phone. DS and I are off today but DH has to work. Took DS to cec for a bit so thsts where I am right now. Leaving here around noon to go home and eat lunch and do my wrk out!

I did br challenge wk 2day 5 yday. It included bicep and back weight work. I did the biceps but left back for today since I wrkd it sat with DH at the gym. Not exactly sure what else I will do. Having trouble deciding. :/

hello..

Well...i am alive...barely..this long weekend has sucked..sat morning i woke up with a stomach virus...i have NEVER puked as mich as i have in past 3 days..and HURT..OMG MY TUMMY HAS HURT...and eat..nothing..and yet tummy so swollen...ugh..i finally ate last night and kept it down..my tummy is swollen and hurting still at least i have stopped throwing up...knock on wood..ugh..this has been CRAPPY

Di...watch your incicision dont let it get infected...

Wendy...i am off today too..was hopong for a 3day workout marathon..instead i got a hugging of the toilet seat marathon ...ugh...

This is THE WEEK..MY LAST WEEK TEACHING AT GYM..bitter sweet for sure..hope i am better tmrw...ugh

Hi Ladies,

I just finished PUB and abs. I subbed weighted ab work for pikes on the ball, and did some leg lift on the dip station too! I love the dip station, it is so versatile and doesn't take up much space. Oh my, have to admit my dips are pretty shallow right now.

Laura-rest up and eat some chicken soup. Hope you feel better soon. Glad you are calling quits on the gym that mistreats not only you, but your patrons as well. I'm looking forward to the opening of your new gym and our Damage Control Road Trip!

I'm back!!!

Finished my work out a little while ago....Low Impact Challenge thru combo # 2, Slide n Glide cardio only and the back rows from BR challenge wk 2 day 5 that I had to skip y'day! From w/u to stretch it took me exactly an hour to complete! Good stuff!!! :D

I'm making a new chicken recipe for dinner tonight (you can look for the link on fb later coz I will post it when we are done eating!) from my cooking light cook book. I am going to make it ahead of time (will get going on it in a few minutes) b/c I have an appointment at 5 pm. Won't be home until 6:15 and don't want to be cooking a full meal at that time! Hopefully only some warming up when I get back home later and dinner will be served! :D

Diana:: Yeup, the dip station is awesome! I lurve mine too! No worries-tricep dips on that thing are poor for me too to say the least! lol Great work out! Way to improvise!

Laura:: Oh my goodness, soooo sorry you've been sick!!!!:( Hope you are well by tmrw morning!!!!!
 
TUE that is a MON . crap ...

WEll I am HERE :( my tummy is still hurting and swollen .. but at least I was able to eat and keep food down last night .. even tho tummy kept me up ALL NIGHT hurting .. ugh!!! I did TRY to workout ystdy - it made me sick .. and weak and dizzy .. not a good idea .. hoping to be able to pull it together for class tonight .. may be my last one!! :confused: It is bitter sweet for sure .. and my mind bounces back and forth between my loyalty to my students and my absolute dread and intolerance for that place .. but even tho I know it is sad to end .. I know it has to!!

Wendy - have a great rest day .. I started on my BR binder .. and cant wait to add some in my routine!!

Di .. hope the foot is healing better ..

OK ... well wish me luck tonight .. maybe I will have some strength back .. and be able to survive my possible LAST class tonight .. :confused:.. it will be 3 step torture .. (cant bounce yet)

And btw, great timing! :p You are getting ready jump on the BR bandwagon just a couple weeks before I plan to get off of it for 3 months!!!!:eek:

PS:: If I were you, Laura, I would jump right in with the BR 30 Day Challenge! Great way to get your feet wet w/o having to "think" about which work outs you'll do! I am loving it!!!!

LOL re the Bodybugg mix up! :p Yes! Given the fact that most BR's are far shorter (though certainly no easier!!!:eek:) then any Cathe work out I would say that yes, you can definitely handle a BR early in the morning! ;)

I have a coworker (friend) that I have been talking to about BR .. and I showed her the website etc .. the clips .. explained some stuff etc .. well I noticed she has been looking good here lately .. (she has always looked good but firmed up) .. I just found out she has been doing the BR exercises on her own ...:eek:.. wow .. I feel like a proud mama ... LOL!!! I wish i would have known she had been doing it .. i would have been checking in with her .. but I can see where she wanted to do it on her own .. etc .. WOW .. I am IMPRESSED. Several other of my coworkers are starting P90x (the first one) too .. and here I am ENDING my classes .. wow ..is the universe is upside down or what????? :confused::confused::confused: :eek::eek: I feel weird .. to say the least .. wow!!!

Tonight is gonna be harder than i thought .. I think .. I already have people asking me to stay another week .. :( :confused: :(

IT IS TIME I KNOW .... wish me luck girlies!!

(((HUGS))) to you Laura! I know as much as you are ready to hang up the teaching sneakers for now that saying no to your regulars who love you and still want you around will be hard. Ya gotta do what's right for YOU though and ultimately they will understand that! :)
 
Hi Ladies,

This morning I did PLB stability ball work only. It was a nice burner too! I'm thinking of going back to GS UB since I enjoy that more than I do 4DS. Basically getting back to my normal w/o schedule, even if it UB/Abs for a while longer would be a great start. My w/o's haven't been happening as regularly with the girls here. I no longer have that excuse!

Laura-glad you are jumping on the BR bandwagon. You will love the gymboss, it makes the intervals so much easier (time wise). ITA w/Wendy, give the 30 day challenge a try. So you got a coworker to try BR, that's awesome! Good luck for your last class. Maybe the gym will realize they not up to par equipment wise and they are sorely lacking customer service.

Wendy-it looks like you have turned in to quite the cook! Good for you!

Good Morning.

Week 3 Day 1 of the BR Challenge is done! 13 minutes of hell!!!;)

Diana:: Good for you getting back into your old routine as best you can! Yup, I have learned to love cooking! :D Something I thought would NEVER happen! :p In fact, I think I am going to create a "cookbook" from all of the recipes I've used off the web since I printed most of them out! Guess I'll need more page protectors and another binder! ;)

WED - a new day - a new beginning!!

WOW .. OK .. yes it was hard - YES I WILL MISS my fitness peeps! but WOW .. what a sense of RELIEF!!!!! :D:D:D I woke up feeling renewed .. SORE .. but renewed!! I did a mish mosh 3 step torture last night .. worked everything DOMS: chest, shoulders, back, core, hammies! :D after class .. I did the deed .. the woman was her usual RUDENESS embodied .. no thank you .. no wish you would stay .. nothing .. but WHEW .. I am DONE!! and I am SOOOOOO RELIEVED .. I thought I would be sad .. but by the time the cool down came and my body was thoroughly used up I was SOOOOOOO ready to get the H### outta that place and never look back!!! :eek:

this morning - I find myself - feeling awesome - tummy is good - no nausea - SORE - but such a sense of releif .. there are no words!! Thanks for the support my friends!!!!!

I realize now that even tho my class MADE me workout .. and I always got a GREAT workout .. it was not necessarily the BEST choice for what I want to achieve b/c of the limitations of it. Sometimes I had to dumb it down - take breaks when normally I wouldnt - etc .. I realize in some ways it was a crutch - and excuse NOT to do a weight workout .. or go to gym at lunch .. or for a run at lunch .. or even get up in morning and workout. (b/c I had to have energy for class and be spot on)

NOW it is UP TO ME … I can do what I always wanted to do and what I think is the best and most effective way to workout – hard day – easy day .. Weight day – cardio day – alternating and one yoga day .. :D:D:D:D

I got my gymboss ystdy in mail - so I am getting it out .. and will prbly do a BR workout tmrw morning - tmrw afternoon I have DH work Banquet - so if I dont get a morning w/o I wont get one at all!

Wendy - I am ready to tackle some BR workouts now .. and yes it was hard to hang up my instructor sneakers - but yes now that it is done .. i am GLAD!

Di - WTG on the w/o's .. so your little ones are gone now??? bet the house seems empty .. huh?

OK .. I gotta jet .. today .. is a RUN .. not a 1/2 @$$ one "b/c i have a class tonight" .. but a good one ..weather is cool and I am ready!!! have a great one!!
 
Laura:: Glad you feel so great about your decision! I am happy for you!!! :) I can't believe that B*TCH didn't even say thank you or ANYTHING! UGH! Some people are soooo nasty! :mad: So will you do the BR Challenge or do you have another plan of attack? ;)

4 1/2 mile run DONE :eek: :D:D:D at lunch!!!!! it was GREAT ... I was hoping to make 5 miles .. but i didnt .. dang it .. I did get sweaty .. but OH WELL!!! it was NICE .. really nice .. and as I was running I was thinking .. wow .. and i can GO HOME after work .. WOOOHOOO!!!

although I may do a short BR workout this afternoon :D raring to use the gymboss!!

Wendy ... I am really wanting to do the Cathe LiiT and STS rotation .. maybe not AS IS .. but close to it .. she has it to where it is pretty much like what I want to do .. cardio one day .. weights the next .. ect .. I can never do a rotation AS IS .. LOL .. remember i have major exercise ADD ...

I am on the "winging it" plan right now .. LOL .. :p:p .. as far as BR goes .. I am gonna pick and choose according to what I did the day before or what I want the day of :confused: :p ok .. so I may be following the "winging it - fly by the seat of my pants" rotation :p
 
Laura:: I hear you on not being able to do a pre-written rotation exactly as is! :D When will you start STS/LIS? I plan to start on Feb 4! Nice lunch time run!!! You are off to a great start now that you don't have to teach! ;)
 
Hi ladies,

With depending on others for rides to work, I'm finding that I don't always have time to check-in in the morning.

This morning I did GS C&T and 100-30# kb swings. I used heavy weights and felt awesome/strong during the w/o. Expect to have some serious dom's tomorrow. Abs will be taken care of tonight. Tomorrow will be leg day, perhaps GS Stability ball legs.

Laura-I'm so happy for you. Sorry your gym did not appreciate you or your patrons. I'm sure they'll feel it when their membership drops. Glad you are feeling better and even got a run in at lunch! It will be nice for you to decide your own rotations based on what your body needs, and not the "must hit everything for the class". You should join us on the STS/LIS rotation...and do BR 30 day challenge until Wendy and I start in Feb.:D

Wendy-I cooked a pork tenderloin in the crockpot for dinner tonight. Cauliflower is in the steamer and biscuits (for the boys) are in the oven.:p I'm so looking forward to starting the STS/LIS rotation. My foot is still very tender and I haven't been released to drive...UGH. Since I can't put any weight on my forefoot I can't brake effectively...or safely for that matter.

Lori-come back, is baby blue here yet? I find myself checking fb for your status.:p Hope all is well!
