Y'day was a studio group session work out and this morning was Z-Shred #3 but only once this time. :p

Sorry I completely forgot to even check in with my work out y'day! IDK what's wrong with me! :rolleyes:

Laura:: Congrats on the win in Biloxi. I wish I could win in AC half as much as you win! What do you play??

Hi Ladies,

The cooler temps should make for a nice 5 mile run this morning. I'm up a tad bit late but will be making time for this run. There's a 3 mile on the schedule tomorrow that I may miss due to work. Definitely want to make sure I get T/TH 5 miles in. Wednesday runs are optional so I only do them sometimes, other times I do a Cathe w/o.;)

I'm down close to 15lbs!!!:D:D:D We will have to see what the official weigh in is tomorrow. I'm not sure how this weight came off when I was on vacation. I did track everything, my eating was not the norm for sure.

Laura-Woo Hoo for winning!!! Definitely enjoy your birthday week and the festivities that go along with it!!! Hope your birthday is awesome!!

Morning Ladies ..

well no exercise to report - had tummy issues and just decided to be a total bum - well not total - still did my training session w/Baby Brutus - I am sure my tummy issues are all the CRAP (high cal/rich foods) and alchol consumed on my whirlwind weekend!!! and tonight is the GGt .. sooooo gonna add some MX food and more alcohol on top of it :confused:eerrrr .. just gonna live with it for a while!! IT MY BIRTHDAY soooo might as well enjoy the food and CABS!!! :eek: :D

Wendy - i dont always win - I was due - but I couldnt believe I hit like I did!! My favorite game is Craps - but the table has to be hot and I like to play WITH someone I know ... DH like slots .. and I won this time on slots ... the first machine I hit on ...was a new machine I have never played before - some kind of Chinese garden machine got a bonus and won $$$ - the second machine was the Tarzan machine - I got a buttload of free spins and won more $$$ !!!! IT WAS FUN FUN FUN .. and I was HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!! I also played forever on roulette - only made maybe $30 or $50 on it .. but played for aboutt 4 hours on it ..

DI - 15# .. WOW .. CONGRATS .. that is JUST AWESOME!!! ummmmm could be the anniversary activities burned some extra calories????? :eek: ;););) :p

Good Afternoon, Ladies! :)

This morning's workout was a portion of a studio group session work out (one 5 exercise circuit done 2x through) and half of ZWOW # 69! This morning's work out slayed me! :eek: Loved it! ;)

So here's the breakdown::

2 rounds of: sandbag squats, mountain climber push ups, body weight squats with a pause at the bottom, hand touch push ups and one arm KB pick ups. It was an interval work out so it was timed but I don't honestly remember the timing break down. I just know I went through it twice so it was 10 rounds...Then I followed it up with this::

(ZWOW #69) 75 high knees jump rope/25 goblet squats/75 high knees jump rope/25 dive bomber push ups/75 high knees jump rope/25 plank pulls...Z does it twice but since I was combining it with something else I only did it once. And once was enough! YEOWZERS! :eek:

Laura:: Glad ONE of us is winning at least once in a while! I hardly ever win! :(

Diana:: Woo hoo! Congrats on the weight loss success! :D So you said you've broken thru the # on the scale that you previously could not, right? Double woo hoo for you then! Awesome job!!! :)
 
Hi Ladies,

I was down 4.2#'s over the last 2 weeks. Obviously I missed my weigh in when I was on vacation. Yes, I'm super stoked about being in the lower "decade of numbers" if you will. It has been years....happy. I still have a ways to go. Simply following the WW program is working for me. Having done WW numerous times, I strongly believe that you have to be in the right mindset for the weight to come off. I'm determined...I still have ups and downs on the scale which is to be expected....but mostly downs!!!

Tomorrow I will be doing a 5 mile run.

Just venting here.....He has only played in one game so far. DH is very angry and I'm a little disappointed. It's very frustrating for him to go through all the tough practices and not get any playing time....and it's frustrating for us to go to the games and have him not play. He's on varsity..but really who cares if you don't get to play. He used to be being a starter...even if not starting getting plenty of play time...this year...he's only hit the field for 1 game so far...and that was in Florida. We try to stay out of the High School football politics. TBH, I'm glad this is his last year. We are promoting him to colleges since his coach isn't doing anything for him. Just frustrated...thanks for letting me vent here.

Wendy-hhmmmm, I thought I posted this morning but I guess not. Anyway, I did Zcut #1, just once;)...it was burpee hell. I should've done a 3 mile run but didn't have the time.

Laura- hope you are recovering from all the birthday festivities! It looks like you had a great time from the pics on FB!!! Winner Winner Winner.....yayy for a birthday win!!!

Here's the breakdown of today's work out....

10 reps x 2 sets of each grouping:

reverse/side slider lunges (R)
ipsalateral meatslicers (R)
Repeat on L

sandbag squats
one arm slide reach with push up (R)
sandbag squats
one arm slide reach with push up (L)
bent over rows with a band

Then 16 mins of conditioning with a 1 min break half way....burpees, crawls, swings, hand on/off box, skaters, jump squats, line taps, etc.

This work out was brought to you by one azz kickin' trainer who also happens to me my boss at the studio! :) (It's a client's work out)

Last night I did Z-Shred #4. Slept in y'day morning so I didn't have time until later....

Gotta head out to run an errand now...BBL for personals!:cool:
 
Hi Ladies,

My MIL took us out to breakfast for our Anniversary this morning. It was nice to see her and visit with her for a bit. I had an egg white omelette and fresh fruit!

I got my shipping notice for Cathe's new discs!!!! Should be delivered on Tuesday!

Today will be UB weights ala Xtrain Burn Sets, and abs. Tomorrow calls for a 10k race, I'll be doing my own 10K run. My HM is getting closer, but I still have a couple more long run weekends ahead of me. The next 2 weeks call for a 9 mile run, then 10 miles....then the following week is the HM.

The temps have been quite cold for my morning runs. If it keeps up, I may start doing my weekday runs during my lunch hour when it's not so cold.

Wendy-so what color did you go with for your hair? Sounds like your boss put together a great w/o!! You are doing awesome with Z's w/o's too.

Laura-how are you spending the weekend?

Lori-guess you are just too busy with the family to catch up here. I totally get it.

Hola Chicas.

Yesterday was a busy day...work, hair appointment, food shopping, house cleaning, work out, cooking dinner....I went non-stop. WITHOUT A NAP!!!!!!!!:eek: And I actually survived! :p

So anyone here watch Breaking Bad? DH and I have started watching it via Netflix at the recommendation of my boss at the law firm. We are really enjoying it so far.

Yesterday's work out was Z-Shred #5. Short one at only 12 minutes and I only did it once! :p

Today I am hoping for a longer weight work out ala' the Studio but first we have football and shopping at Kohl's with a 30% coupon to cross off the to-do list! :)

Di:: I don't recall if you have run an HM before? It's a great distance! Enjoy! My hair is very blonde! It's a shocker every time I look in the mirror (LOL) but I like it! Sorry your DS isn't getting play time at the games. That stinks. I can completely understand the frustration it is causing. :( Keep up the good work with WW! You are rocking it! :D
 
Hi Ladies,

Today calls for a 6 mile run. My knee is bothering from the step portions of CLB from yesterday. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm procrastinating going to the Dr. since my race is so close. Running stairs in bootcamp class really bothers it too. It doesn't hurt when I'm doing the activity, but the next day I really pay for it. I'm trying to stay away from taking ibuprofen and have been icing it which seems to do the trick.

Wendy-glad you like your new hair color! Did you get any good buys with your Kohl's coupon? DH watches breaking bad and really likes it, but I haven't seen any of them. I've ran about 7 HM's, but most of them were in my 30's when I was running all the time. After all my foot surgeries I gave up running on regular basis. I plan on sticking to 10K's after this race. My training partner talked me into running this with her, but she has an injury and can't run it this year. Hopefully she will drive me down there and be my cheerleader! I missed my 30% coupon as it expired when I was on vacation...and I was hoping to get towels with it.

Y'day I did another studio PT client work out that went like this:

Lunge with knee up R
Body Saw
Lunge with knee up L
2 Knees in disc Mountain Climbers

Squat Curl Press
Split Stance Squat Row
SB alternating push up and forward roll
SB Bridge (10 sec hold)

10 reps of each unless otherwise noted x 2.5 rounds of each grouping. Topped it off with conditioning - 3@1:00R/5:00W.

This work out slayed me!:D

Today is a rest day. It's been 10+ days since I've taken one! :eek:

Laura:: So I have to ask...how do you deal w/clients who question everything/complain about everything/etc? I have this one client whom I only train in group sessions on Saturdays and she is a total PITA. She doesn't pay attn when I give directions but is the first one to screw up when the work out starts and then tries to put the blame on me that I explained something wrong, etc. UGH! I want to punch her! She's definitely got this holier then thou attitude. I think maybe she doesn't like change as well. She's trained with the owner on and off for a long time and I think having a "new kid on the block" (me) doesn't sit well with her. OH WELL! DEAL WITH IT! :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Diana:: I like my new hair color though it's taking getting used to. It's VERY light so my dark eyebrows are bugging me! :rolleyes: Kohls was not much fun for me. Only got a few bras. My son cleaned up though. Sneakers, 3 pairs of jeans and 5 or 6 shirts! LOL IDT my DH bought anything for himself. Wow you've done plenty of HMs! Nice! If I had time to train for races I would start running again on a regular basis but without that, there is no motivation outside of the weekly trail runs I've just started doing with my friend. Sorry the girl who talked you into this HM is injured. That stinks. :( Have fun with the new Cathe's! Once the reviews start rollin' in I may decide to buy something if I really like the sounds of it. Time will tell....

Hey Ladies -

had a beautiful weekend - but a painful one - got up SAT felt wonderful - well had extreme DOMS from my first real run since April - (ran after work FRI) but felt great - ate lunch - then WHAM ... damned kidney stone attack ... soooo my weekend has been spent on couch - floor and bathroom :mad::mad::mad: and I was gonna get back to my running b/c the weather is perfect for it .. dang it!!!

Wendy -re: the client - first of all if it is one on one .. just you and her .. correct her then and there on the spot .. dont fear embarrassing her - if she is being a PITA about it -- so what .. and if it is in a group setting .. correct her immediately but indirectly at first ... "remember to not lock out knees/dont overextend" .. etc ...if she still isnt getting it and especially if her form is putting her at risk for injury ..you have no other choice than to correct her specifically - nicely .. biting the tongue .. always point out the reason for the correction to make sure you are not singling her out for no reason. Now if it is simple BI!$$ing - like complaining about you not being good enough or workout not being hard enough - or she could do it better than you - or she knows it better - I always approached that at first w/silence - then with experience (my background and if she gave it her all it would work) - then if that didnt work - I would address it one on one and politely say "it is obvious you are not satisfied with my training it would be best if you found another trainer or I would be happy to see if I can get you set up with another group" .. OR if you think she is simply fussing to GET OUT OF WORKING OUT (some people fuss and speak arrogantly just to make themselves feel superior and say they are working out and place the no results on something other than themselves) you could approach her and ask her bluntly "Is there something I can help you with to improve your workout - is there something you are not happy with .. or having trouble grasping"

Di - sorry about the knee giving you fits - I would stop any stepping until after your races ... I know with my knee .. I have stopped stepping and it all but has cured my knee problem (knock on wood) .. I AM EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW DVD'S - the step ones are going to my SIL ... I am DONE w/stepping .. I will use it as a shaping tool but no more dancy steps for this one!! I was SOOOOOO SORE .. in fact my inner thigh is STILL sore from FRIDAYS run .. but I felt strong .. and sure did miss running .. now if our weather will just stay like this!!! I can run some more!! although the days are getting shorter and shorter!

OK .. better run .. I am at work .. BARELY .. but it is first of month and we are BUSY!!! have a great one!

Laura:: Thanks. This person is actually not paying attn. and therefore screwing up something extremely simple! Far less complicated then the exercises themselves - it's what direction/order to go in when executing a given circuit!!!! YKWIM? It's soooo aggravating and makes her look like a complete moron which is likely why she tries to make it seem like it's MY fault when it CLEARLY is NOT!!!!! UGH!!!! :mad: And it's in a group setting, btw. EEK, sorry about the stones attack! YIKES! I hope you are feeling better today!

Thanks for starting the new month's thread Laura! Wow, I can't believe it's already the first of the month. Where has the time gone????

So I did my 6 mile run on Sunday.....the knee was bothering me. Then I had my last bootcamp session last night and we ran hills and stairs. OMG, my left leg was killing me last night. I tossed and turned all night. This morning was a 5 mile run and my knee is really hurting today. I've been foam rolling morning & night. Definitely not doing any step until after the HM. My girlfriend has decided to walk it, with the realization that she may not finish. Once I finish I plan on finding her and walking with her as far as possible or until the time limit.

Laura-Oh no, another kidney stone attack. You poor thing. Take care of yourself. I was expecting my workouts today. They weren't here so I checked my tracking....not coming until Thursday. Oh well, with all my running they'll be sitting anyway.

Wendy-glad you love your hair! What a pain your client sounds like. Laura gave you some good advice though. I have to be to work early tomorrow so a Z w/o sounds like it might do the trick! I've been thinking of doing All Out Low Impact HIIT tomorrow.

Fly by for now...

This morning's work out was one of the studio work outs I did last week but I only did half the recommended sets and did half of Z-Shred 7 instead of the 16 min conditioning segment. Great work out! :D
