Good Morning!

How is everyone??? Everything here is pretty good. I went for a nice hilly (if there is such a thing) 16.7 km run yesterday. I think I will go in the other direction today.

Eating out here isn't the best. I think the only thing that saved me yesterday was my long run and Im not sure how that works when your money is use to working out that long anyway!:confused: Im hoping to head out for another run today but not as long, probably 10 k and call it a day.

I am heading home tomorrow and back to work Fri night. My sister gave me a cross stitch to do so that will give me something to do in the night time:eek: Unless there is actual work to be done! It will keep me from eating cookies as well!

I may be back later. DS is really up my arse now that we are here. I don't know if he thinks I am going to leave him here or what his problem is...either way...its not cool!!!

So how's everyone doing on this hump day?

Lori:: Where is here?? I didn't know you were going anywhere...unless I missed something?? Good job on the runs as usual. You are a running poster child, I swear. :)

Jen:: I was thinking, if you want to push the CT trip another week to the third week of Aug, that's fine too. I forgot that my DH is currently out of work. Would be nice if he got a few weeks in before I dashed off to the casinos! :p LOL

Jacque:: So can you walk this morning?? :D

Diana:: My legs weren't sore y'day. I didn't think they would be. It just wasn't the kind of leg work out that creates DOMS for me but a good work out none-the-less! ;) I never ended up doing a CLX cardio y'day though I did get sweaty with Chalene. LOL I love the CLX cardios though. Need to do one soon. Need to get back to the CLX soon too! Perhaps I'll start in August...Anyone care to join me? :D

Laura:: Sorry about the hot cardio room. I get into a bad mood too when something ruins my work out. Hope today is better for you!

Today's work out will be One on One Training w/Jackie: Core and a short cardio of choice.

Good morning chicadees !

Well not too bad this AM. Can "feel" my bad ankle a bit but it doesn't hurt. Hope it goes away. The legs seem to be OK, just feeling really tired. Today will be NMTZ (don't even know what I'm getting into here . . . just following Wendy's lead yet again ! :eek:) Not sure but may skip the leg work and do my freestyle lunges and add some walking lunges in the backyard. Cardio will probably just be walking, perhaps at an incline if I can ! :rolleyes:

Lori - So DN isn't around to help keep the little guy from "sticking" to your leg? :( Didn't catch what you meant by "when your money is used to working out that long anyway?". Don't worry about a few days eating, you'll get it off quickly. I love cross stitch - have quite a few started around here somewhere. That was before the days of a 40 hr workweek and Cathe ! ;) Hope the remainder of your time with your parents goes smoothly !

Wendy - Enjoy your 1 on 1 workout today. Is it set up by body part? or UB, LB & core? Got plans to get your steps in today? :p Thinking about CLX but also thinking about some variations of standard weight work in order to get in more cardio for the time being. Not sure what Aug will bring - and I don't have CLX (yet), perhaps could adapt my other workouts to be something close? Will have to check it out and see what types of workouts they are.

Opss....why did I say "money"...I meant "body" what a fool! I must have had money on the brain.

Wendy** I am at my parents house for a few days. I knew I wasn't going to get to relax much with DS with me but I didn't think he was going to be stuck to me the way he is! Drives me crazy! Have a good workout.

Jacque** My neice watched him yesterday while I ran but it takes alot to sneak away from him. I should have brought my running stroller but there are to many hills out here. My legs were on fire yesterday when I was on my way home. Even if it wasn't a steep hill , it would be a steady incline! Whats wrong with your ankle? Did you twist it or something.

My mom was driving me nuts last night re:FB. I don't live the life she wants me to live. I grew up pentecostal so my unbringing was pretty strict. Needless to say when she sees pics of me doing something on FB which isn't even bad...btw...I get crapped all over. She never has anything good to say. So I told her I was going to remove her on my friends list, I don't know why she is on there anyway...she is just being nosey! Anyway, she seen some pics from last weekends stag party...that I didn't even see yet! I emailed my friend and told her to remove my mom as well b/c of the crap I was hearing. I didn't remove her after, I just limited her access to my account. She can't see any pics I am tagged in and she can't see anything that anyone writes on my wall. When I told her that she told me to remove her....in other words, she only wants to be nosey! I debated going home today b/c when I stayed up for myself she usually doesn't talk to me but she isn't that bad. Probably b/c she needed her hair done:mad: I can't beleive she brought it up again today! When she brought it up my blood just started boling! Anyway.....Im done with that. I don't go to church but that doesn't make me a bad person. She should be proud of the person I am...instead she is set on the person that she wants me to be and its just as well for her to realize that it ain't happening.

Hey peeps! :D

Here to report a 5 mile run on the treadmill this morning. My legs are now pretty tired. Tomorrow might just be a rest day.

Wendy: I think the weekend of the 15th works out even better for me! My kids leave for vacation on that Saturday. I'm not sure that I'd make it down there on Friday night though, seeing they'd be leaving in the morning. I'd likely want to spend that evening with them. So shall we say August 15-16th? It'll be good for me to save a few bucks between now and then, too, which means you'll have to stop enabling me! Think you can? Swear to God I was just thinking about getting back to CLX during my run this morning, so I just might be joining you in August.

Diana: OMG, I feel the same way you do about tubing and bands! I don't know what it is, but I hate them with a passion. I think it has something to do with range of motion maybe? I feel so restricted with them, and they are so darn hard!! I wil definitely be checking into that SS lower body premix you mentioned. I always forget about the premixes, and they're so good!

Laura: Your lunch time workout yesterday sounds very frustrating! Hey, aren't the ends of the lettuce the greenest part with all the nutrients? Look at the bright side...you might have gotten a few extra vitamins yesterday :p

Jacque: Too funny, I didn't realize we ordered the same set of dvds! So you'll have to give your opinion of NMTZ tonight, because I'm eyeing that for either tomorrow or Friday. Lots of buzz on that one around here lately and so I'm really looking forward to it. Nothing wrong with walking for cardio....steps are steps, and I think our bodies like the break once in a while ;) Thanks for helping me with productivity yesterday! Looks like I could use a little of that today, too.

Lori: I forgot you were visiting your parents. Hope you are enjoying yourselves! How far do they live from where you live? There's something about going "home" that always does my diet in, too. Mom likes to feed us and we are always happy to oblige!

Okay, I better get busy and do something today! Will bbl to see what everyone is up to~

Lori: We were posting at the same time. (((Hugs))) Sorry to hear your mom is driving you a little bonkers, but try to remember that you are an adult and you need to live your life the way you see fit. It's not any of her business anymore. Try to let it roll off, because I don't think you're going to change her ;) You might want to gently remind her that she did a great job raising you as a child, but now you're an adult and she needs to trust that she did a great job, period. Because yes, she should be proud of the person you are! And so should you ;)

Morning girlies!!

I "almost" made the 10k goal ystdy .. the kickarse w/o did not log the steps it should have .. but I am happy w/the 8 1/2K I had b/c I know I worked a H### of a lot harder than the day I busted the 10K goal .. not to mention I was up to 11:00 last night pickling/canning more veggies .. let me tell you .. Betty Crocker I am NOT!!!:confused:

I did plyos on the 4 layer step - then LB - then UB - the core in circuits .. about 8 -10 times ... :eek:.. OMG .. I was SPENT .. tough workout .. it was something I had not done b-4 combining the plyos ON the 4 layer step WITH LB and WB work .. the heart rate was thru the roof :D

Wendy ... I am jealous you and Jen on a girls casino weekend .. talk about FUN .. it is about time for us to go gambling again .. wish we were closer!!!

Jen .. the lettuce ends .. I call the inside stalk the whiter lettuce the ends .. LOL .. so no NO NUTRIENTS .. NOT GOOD .. I prefer the greener good ends of baby lettuces NOT the whiter stalk like ends of iceburg .. YUCK .... :( hey the news showed part of New England that was flooded .. said they ya'll have only had 3 days w/o rain in the last month :confused: YUCK .. hope you are not in the flooded areas ..

Lori .. HUGS to you .. no wonder you did a long run .. being ticked off!! aahhhhhhh mothers!!! You love them but man oh man can they be aggrevating!! In your case ... I know the kind of mom ... my VBF has one .. she has FINALLY chilled on the GOT to go to Church thing . . and VBF drinks (a no no) .. and loves to have parties (no no)... but it took a while .. and YES .. just b/c you dont go to church does not mean you are not religious .. I am a firm believer that God knows what is in your heart .. you pray .. worship him in your own way .. I dont attend Church b/c I feel my Church has become more about what you wear and who is sitting by whom .. etc .. I KNOW I am more religious than most of the ones sitting on the front pew every Sunday!! But the old timers dont see it that way .. the attendance is mandantory!! *sigh* sending some more positive vibes your way!!!:)

OK .. I gotta run .. the weather is still not cooperating .. but I am going to keep my vacation day THUR and FRI ... I know we will fish FRI .. but THUR is really looking IFFY .. it "might" be postponed till SAT ??? we gotta decide that this afternoon ... DH and I may take the smaller boat out (the Keys boat) to run it tmrw .. it has got to be run some b-4 our trip to the Keys ... it will be a fun day no matter!!! :D Ok ..have a great one!!
 
Laura: See??? All my friggin' complaining was for good reason! ;)

So what is up with this? I can do Push/Pull and feel fine the next day, but I do Supersets and I have DOMS everywhere the next day. Pretty much same weight selections, too. Are they that different? Just popped some advil so I could lift my coffee cup with ease :rolleyes:
 
Hi ladies,

Today was my early morning conference call that I had to run since my co-worker is on vacation. I think I'm more hungry today since I didn't workout this morning. It is supposed to be 96 today...UUUGGHH I hate the heat.

I should go to the rec ctr at lunch for some cardio but I'm just not feelin' it right now. Hopefully by lunchtime I will change my mind.

Jerod's team lost both of their baseball games last night. They have 2 more games Friday night. Even though they lost both games, my son did very well at first base and at pitcher. They are finally coming together and the season is over. Jerod says he wants to play competitive next year. He does this every year. When he plays competetive, they start practicing in Feb and play through July, sometimes Aug. He's pretty tired of it come mid June and says "next year I want to play rec".

Lori-sorry your trip isn't as fun as you would've liked. I was very fortunate that my parents were never judgemental. They raised us the best they could but the rest was up to us. On a funny side note, my dad did not believe that boys should have their ears pierced. My nephew got his ears peirced when he was 17 and he knew grandpa would give him crap about it. Of course when grandpa asked about it, my nephew told him his pierced ears were to carry his fishing luers (sp.??). Grandpa laughed and told him that was a good thing!

Wendy-I had to be to work early...not fun for me. No morning w/o so I'm out of sorts. I'm actually hoping to do another round of STS after the new cardio w/o's come out. I might give CLX another go...we shall see. I never did get to the Lean phase of it.

Jacque-Looking forward to your review of NMTZ. As far as eating goes, I know what to eat, its just that the timing doesn't work out for me. That's what I'm trying to work on. This morning I had 5 almonds on my way to the office. After my conf. call I had my eggbeaters w/spinach and steel cut oats. It's only 10:15 and I've already eating my morning snack. I more hungry in the morning on the days I don't w/o in the a.m.

Jen-Nice job on that run this morning. I'm considering a treadmill run at lunch. You can't forget about the premixes, there are so many to choose from. I too still have DOMs from that tubing, and all that chest too. Even my back feels worked from BSB.

Laura-Sounds like you took a cue from Cathe's plyo work. How did you class like it??? If it was hard for you, I'm sure it was hard for those in your class. I'm so looking forward to seeing DGB's. Enjoy your vacation!!!

Hi ya Peeps.

Okay well exercise ADD took over. Instead of doing One on One w/Jackie: Core + separate cardio, I did TJ Kickin' Core and got my cardio n abs all done in one work out. My core was already a bit sore and will be even more so tmrw now! I tried doin' the cardio with weighted gloves again but after the w/u and the first combo I realized that my shoulders weren't gonna be able to take it a 2nd day in a row. I also have a f/b work out on tap for tmrw. Didn't want to mess that up so I did the rest of the work out sans gloves...

Which reminds me...Jacque:: you asked me a question which I forgot to answer. I have used and like the TJ gloves but now I have Cathe's weighted gloves and like them too. I used Cathe's y'day and will probably just alternate which ones I use only because they are different weights.

Jen:: Aug 15-16 sounds good to me! I figure we could plan to meet at the casino just before lunch perhaps?? This way we can then sit down for a meal with a bottle of wine (or a couple of martinis) and chat for a while before we check-in to the room, etc. (No really! I swear I am not an alcoholic!LOL) :) So do you plan on GWF'ing while we are in CT and do they have a gym that we can use?? :D ;)

Diana:: Well enjoy whatever you choose to do. :) Sorry you missed your morning work out. That's a bummer. Glad your DS did well despite losing the games. It's not all about winning and this is a good thing for him to experience.

Lori:: Sounds like you are having loads of fun visiting your mom! LOL :p

Wendy: Sounds like a great plan to me. I'll have DSO book it for us and we'll be good to go! Um, as far as the GWF goes, this is the closest thing I'm gonna get to a vacation this year, so phhhhhth!! That thing is staying home! I'll worry about recovering from the weekend later ;) Gym...yeah right!!

Well I've gotten a bit busy at work, come back and 10 posts ! :eek:

Walked 20 min at lunch - am at about 5K steps so will need to kick a little bootie later tonight ! Will def report my findings with NMTZ sans legs as I will do my freestyle. Leggies are quite sore in the inner thighs and lower behind area - ALL GOOD here ! :D The stairs are making the back end speak to me as I climb. . . :rolleyes:

Lori - Okie dokie, I get it now. Was not quite awake I guess to try to figure out what you meant. I have to agree that all your running has got to help on the body maintenance you have going on there. Hoping it helps me too ! ;) Sorry things aren't going really well for you there but I commend you for sticking it out and coming here to vent. Hope it helped as you can see we all understand. It is one thing I don't have to deal with since my parents are both gone, but I remember hearing from my bro how Dad and my Step Mom had things to say about both of us. Oh well, we are both self supporting with very decent families. You are too and therefore I like the idea from Jen about reminding here that she did a great job and you are thankful for the great guidance she gave you growing up. Tell her you turned out very successful and she can take lots of credit for it. ;) I have a "bad" ankle from my 20's - torn ligaments and was casted for a month and a half. It bothers me here and there but usually not for long. Seems to be feeling OK now -didn't hurt during my walk. I think the rough terrain on y'day's run may have just stressed it a bit.

Jen - well very nice run this AM young lady ! I am enjoying the slight DOMS as I haven't felt them for a while. I will be doing SS on Friday - did PP on Monday. We'll see if I get sore like you did. Will report on NMTZ for you. I haven't done either of Jillian's weight workouts yet. Also, got your back on the work again today - this post is my only "play time" today ! ;) LOL about the GWF and workouts ! Isn't Wendy just too funny? :eek: :p Either that or she's planning some good eats and drinks . . . :cool: Hope you get some good weather soon !

Laura - SURE, rub it in that you have a 4 day weekend right after a 3 day weekend, yep, go ahead . . . Good for you since you stuck it out with all PIA's absence and trouble making. Which reminds me, is working going better or is there still "something weird" going on? Hope the weather works out for you tomorrow - sounds like you'll have fun no matter. ITA that some of the steps are not counted during step type workouts. And remember that 10K is just a guide - how hard you workout is more important. Walking at least gets a few extra cals burned but plyos def beats that hands down.

Diana - sounds like you did great getting some food in there today. I had multi grain hot cereal (similar to oatmeal) and wasn't even hungry until 12 or so. Skipped my 'snack' but will try to add it in a little later I guess. You are probably hungry from your workouts yesterday. Burned a little more glycogen that you had stores for? :D LOL about the ear piercing story ! I swear my FIL is much more approving of what my kids do than he would be if his own children did something a little "off base". My DD used to make him crack up. Now my DH - not approving at all. My DS1 has pierced ears and is gaining tatoos like they are going out of style . . . Oh well, I just remember what Lori's mom should - I gave them a good upbringing and it is time for them to make their own decisions. I'm here whenever they want my input but that's it ! They live with their own choices. You have a great time with all the "kids".

Wendy - LOL about changing your workouts ! On the TJ gloves, are there different sizes? Could I be using them the wrong way? I've tried different ways but they seem just to restrictive to my movements?

Jen:: Ok no gym, no GWF that means......PARTY TIME! :D;) LOL

Jacque:: No need to go sans legs for NMTZ. It's a very light weight work out so your legs will be fine unless you purposely opt to heavy up on them. Can't wait to hear what you think!

Well just finished NMTZ and I am tired and sweaty. A little more cardio factor than I expected and if I get sore it will be my core. Good workout with compound moves and Wendy, you are right about the legs. It was more freestyle like leg work - helped stretch out my sore areas ! :p

Wanted to go heavier on the weights and found myself switching to lower weights the second time through.

Can't wait to wake up tomorrow and see what "effects" I feel.

Wendy - how much higher on the weights do you go? and do you keep the same count or go slower? I'd like to feel a little more burn in some of the UB muscles (not the shoulders & tris, they were burning just fine thank you ! ;))

Only at 6500 steps so far so off I go . . .
