Lunch -done!

4.2 miles walk/run at lunch - LOADS of sunshine .. it felt awesome . . i wish I didnt have to work .. I could have ran the whole thing .. dang it .. it felt awesome!!!! work sure is interfering with my workouts!! :confused:

Allee - i dont see why you cant use that as your avatar .. it is cute ..and it is advertisement for Cathe .. LOL

Wendy .. sorry DS is sickly .. ok .. stealing the pork tenderlon recipe!! mmm mmm mmmm ..

Ok .. gotta get to work . guh .. it is SO PRETTY OUT .. really gives me spring fever BAD!!!
 
Good Morning Ladies!

My legs are so sore this morning...should probably do something to work out the soreness. Not sure what we did in bootcamp class last night that would cause this but we did jump lunges using an 8" step, hamstring roll ins, band work (stepping out out in in), bear crawls using the discs, squat w/overhead press...the rest was upper body.

My baby is 16 today!!! He has his drivers test scheduled for tomorrow. He's opening his first bank account today. He's growing up, that's for sure! Guess that means I'm getting older too, but we won't talk about that. DH and I are taking him out to dinner tonight.

I should be doing LIC, but I don't want to have to think that much this morning...rather just get my w/o on. I'm going to choose a shorter cardio that is more familiar to me instead...or I could do a Zuzana or BR w/o. hmmm...Damn you Wendy-keep your exercise ADD to yourself.

Wendy-sorry you had to cut your weekend short, hope DS is feeling better. I have to say this is a great rotation for me right now. My foot/toe flexibility is improving each day and let me not forget to say that some of these are pretty tough w/o's too!

Laura-will you be running again today???? I signed up for the ViPR class, it starts tomorrow night. I'll let you know what I think of it. Oh, and it's expensive too....$55 for 4-1 hour sessions. There's another 4 week session after the one I signed up for ends...may see if DS will take it with me...If I like it.

Lori-What's on your agenda today...besides feeding, changing, bathing, repeat!:p

Allee-Hope you like the LIS rotation, I'm really enjoying it!!!

Happy Tuesday. :)

I did 4D LIS in place of LIC this morning and did the finished combos section 2x back to back coz I was having so much fun. ;) I did this work out on an 8" step for the first time. I set it up that way b/c it's low impact and Cathe usually does these types on 8". It's been a while so I forgot she only does this one on 6". When I realized I decided to stick with the 8" anyway and got a great work out! :)

Allee:: Hope you enjoy the LIS rotation!

Laura:: Nice run! Sorry you had to work y'day. What a bummer. :(

Diana:: HBD to your baby! It's a bittersweet one isn't it? :) LOL at your exercise ADD attack! I haven't even caved and done a BR or a ZWOW since starting LIS/STS! :p Wow that new class you are going to try IS pricey! Hope it's a goody! Enjoy your leg DOMS. You were sooo dying to work legs hard after surgery. Sounds like you accomplished it now!;)

Good Morning Girls:)

Didnt get back here yesterday. Forgot about the growth spurts and who knew they had them this early? Geez! I barely got anything done yesterday. It was 5 before I even went out to get groceries! He slept better last night though. I stayed up when he woke at 7 b/c I am having the kids pics done this afternoon and I wanted to have everything done before she showed up...including a workout.

Yesterdays workout was 45 mins of cardio on the TM. Today I did 40 mins of cardio on the TM and bike and about 2/3 of STS disc 3.

Diana** Sounds like your on the mend! Ive been drinking peppermint tea every since I came home from the hospital. I enjoy it and even though its caffine free, its nice to sip it in the afternoons or even after dinner. I cant believe DD will be 16 next month as well.

Wendy** Hope Joey is feeling better. That websire has a lot of good recipes. Whenever I search for a recipe I end up picking something from there.

Laura** I have yet to do afterburn! I should try it some time this week. A guy who works for DH came by last night and borrowed my Insanity dvds. He wasnt gone long before he was texting DH telling him that I was crazy. I guess the workouts can be to much for those 19 yr olds!!!

Morning ladies ..

It has been a wild one .. yikes!! Our rental property we have drives me NUTZ .. and DH is driving me NUTZ about it along with it!! GGRRRRRRRRRR:mad: I went home and did Asylum - S&A .. great sweat .. tried to do better form on walking plank pushup and jump in .. UGH ... I cant get back my pushup strength .. oh I can lift heavy on chest flys - chest presses - chest anythign .. but give me a pushup or pullup and I SUCK!! :confused: :mad:

Di - HBD to your son - wow - a driver!!! bet it is bitter sweet for you!!! ;) Now what is this new class?? bootcamp style ?? or personal trainer style?? or crossfit style??? do tell please!!!!!! :D

Wendy - i cant bring myself to do the step one in the new series .. gosh I am SOOOOO burned out on step ... may give that disc to SIL .. she loves step!!!

Lori - so are you back to running on your TM? you are gonna be back to your long runs in no time!!!

So today is HEAVY UB and LB at the CC!! then tonight is a BR-ish short cardio then TRI-set LB :eek: yes .. the DOMS will be back FULL force tmrw!! :p .. ok have a great one! ;)
 
Lori:: Nice work outs! I see you are wasting no time getting back in the game! :) Yep, DS is better! TY! We actually probably really didn't even need to leave AC early :( but better to be safe then sorry I suppose! :rolleyes:

Laura:: I burned out on step myself big time! After doing step non stop for the few years I was doing Cathe work outs there was a span of about 2 solid years in which I did ABSOLUTELY NO STEP WORK OUTS AT ALL so don't feel bad. I know how you feel. :rolleyes: I have been doing them again for a while but not nearly enough to burn out. I actually appreciate them again! Lay off for a while...you will come back around to liking them I think! :) FWIW, my push up strength improved by leaps and bounds with P90X years ago thanks to chest and back and recently thanks to BR! Just some food for thought~;)
 
lunch - heavy weights done!

YOWZA .. my arms are a quivering!!! :confused: I tried to take it a bit easy on the legs b/c SIL are tackling Trisets LB tonight (after a short BRish cardio/core workout) - the director of the CC was there .. she recognized me .. while I was changing clothes no less :confused: :eek: anyway .. still wants to meet and talk .. I told her I was taking a break and really enjoying it but definately would talk to her later - i have had several former students begging me back - sigh - FLATTERED yes - but man hate to say .. I AM LOVING doing my own thing .. LOVING it!!! :)

the crossfit place here is really exploding - he is expanding - I dont know about ya'll - but I am predicting a HUGE wave in fitness - I see an undercurrent that is just about to crest and go viral - I see it popping into new instructors routines - on the net - their sites - and I look very soon for the exercise industry to expode w/knock off crossfit-like workouts ... mark it down!! :confused: it is coming!!!

I even look for Cathe to put her spin on it - which I am anxiously awaiting .. b/c she is good at perfecting and tweaking new trends making them her own .. BUT doing it safely!! She has an expert touch of making things her own - making them more difficult but never loosing the quality of the movement or purpose of the exercise or the FORM/SAFETY of the exercise!!!
 
Laura:: I never bit on the CrossFit thing...too darned expensive for my blood AND it sounds a tad dangerous too. :confused: Definitely too over the top for me. Now if someone like Cathe came up with her spin on the idea then I would try it but not as it's traditionally done IDT. Good for you for standing your ground and taking some more time to figure out if you REALLY want to teach again or not! Glad you are enjoying your "fitness freedom" so much! :)

Wendy .. ITA about crossfit ...IMO it is too dangerous (no to mention expensive) .. to me it pushes the envelope on safety... but I can see it going viral .. some "fitness experts" exploiting it's popularity and making very dangerous workouts that should be supervised available for the public .. and I can see a watered down version also maybe that is going to "pass" as a crossfit workout that prbly is no where near the degree of difficulty it designed to be ..

I see where Reebok is developing a program Reebok Crossfit One.. which is a program, merchandising, apperal .. everything ... now if it will be like "cross fit" IDK

The real crossfit gyms are almost CULT like to me - and the COMPETITION is what drives people ... but yes .. I think overall the program has such a wide open possibility of injury done they way they do it.

BUT CATHE .. I am waiting .. I know she will take it .. develop the concept under her supervision and creativity and turn it into a masterpeice of torture and keep it safe the whole time!!! :D:D:D a definite .. OH H### YA .. I would do it from me .. ONLY from Cathe tho!! LOLOLOLOL

I did a BR w/o this morning since I was short on time and didn't want to fumble my way through LIC. I did the Advanced version (modified): BODYROCK.tv | Fitness Advice, Workout Videos, Health & Fitness | Bodyrock.tv

I did the pull up/knee lifts as separate exercises. I also did the Ab bonus with the elevated feet/knee ins for some of the ab work. Need to build up my endurance on the dip station, my hands were killing me before the 50 seconds were up.

I'm starving waiting for DS to get ready for dinner. I'm eating my dark chocolate reese's from Vday...hurry up already.

Wendy-Glad Joey is feeling better. Tomorrow will either be LIC or CSS, I just don't want to have to think to much during my w/o on a weekday.

Laura-Hope you get everything worked out with your rental property. Crossfit is huge here...there are 5 crossfit gyms within a 10 mile radius of my house. They are too expensive for me too. The company upstairs from us has a cross fit coach come and train them twice a week. The ViPR class is limited to 8 people and we have a trainer instructing us. Tomorrow night will be my first class. I did find this youtube link: ViPR at Equinox - YouTube It's a weighted hollow tube with handles. It comes in different weights. I'll let you know what I think...it's kind of expensive for me so unless I really like it, I'll just stick to my 4 classes and call it good.

Lori-too funny about DH's employee trying Insanity. I remember thinking I could stroke out at any moment just during the warmup the very first time I tried Insanity. I'm still jealous of your year off. I need to plan my time better at home...and get off this stinkin' computer!

Good Morning,

Normal rountine...feeding DS b/c I plan on working out soon. Im not 100% sure what Im doing. Might just be cardio and abs.

I said good bye to STS last night b/c my sister took it home with her. Long story short...she bought it, we were gonna go halves, she started a new job and didnt have time for it...oh, and I never did pay for my half...LOL! I suggested she take it back with her when she left and she did. Technically its her's anyway! LOL

Wendy** We hate fevers in this house b/c of that pneumonia scare we had when DS was 2 so we would have did the same thing. And all kids need their moms when they are sick! I dont know if we ever grow out of that.

Laura** Yep...back to running but dont tell my doc;) I feel good and everything feels fine. Ive read a lot of post about starting when you feel ready and some about waiting. There are similar things about s-e-x too....but Im NOT ready for that yet! Ick!!!!! My endurance is good. Running steady again but not as fast. I will get quicker with time and losing weight will help as well.

Diana** I hate it when I am starving and waiting for someone to cook my dinner! Id rather cook it myself. At least it keeps me occupied!

I dont have the DOMS I thought I would :eek: I am SHOCKED .. my hamstrings a bit .. some into my shoulders and back. SIL and I did a short BRish cardio then we did Trisets LB .. I LOVE this workout .. awesome!!!! And different and fun!!

I did P90X Legs and Back this morning in place of STS Plyo Legs or Turbo Barre. Loved getting in the extra pull ups too. BONUS! ;)

Laura:: I googled the reebok crossfit and found the website. Definitely the same concept but hopefully it's safer...

Di:: I can't preview the vid for the BR you did from here at work but is sounds killer! Great job! :) How was DS' Bday dinner? What did you have?

Lori:: You gave up STS!? Really?? That's something that *I* might do but I didn't think you would! :p Plan to re-order at any point? She has great sales. Wait for one and scoop it up! :D

Laura** Maybe I am running from sex? LOL Theres always that "fear" after giving birth...fear of pain! Or fear of getting pregnant again, which I need to do something about.

Wendy** I am gonna miss STS even though I only did one rotation and I didnt see any major results. Probably had something to do with not doing the 1 RM. I figured I should let her have it considering she paid for it:p I did check out the price of it ....who knows! I might buy it or just wait till my sister comes home again and brings it back with her.

Allee** You need to move to Canada and have a baby....then you can have your year off;)

Good Morning Ladies!

Major DOM's this morning-back, hamstrings, shoulder, glutes. That ViPR class kicked my butt! One lady did use a bodybar in place of the ViPR.

This morning will be Cardio Super Sets...can't really remember this one although I've done it before. Hopefully soon I'll get the LIS series memorized. So far I'm enjoying this rotatio! Oh, and I'm down a lb from last week. My water intake has fallen by the wayside so I'll be working on that this week.

Lori-Nice w/o yesterday...see you are getting your running legs back...yayyyy!!! Totally understand the "fear", but the comment did make me smile.:p When my youngest was born, DH suggested we have another one right away so he would have a playmate since his brothers are so much older. I nixed that right away. Hope the Lulu fits perfect!

Allee-Nice work, AB is awesome! I'd just like a year off work...no baby needed! Although I would love to try crossfit, it is too expensive for my budget.

Laura-we are getting more snow today...no chance of an outside w/o for me today. I'm going to see if I can find the ViPR exercises and email them to you, my whole backside is sore...calves, hamstrings, glutes. It was much tougher than I was expecting! THURS -eeeouch!

Morning Ladies ...

OK -- I have done somethign to my other shoulder :mad: and odd .. i did it on the FIRST set of knee ins on the dip station .. I felt it pain on the inner part of shoulder joint that connects to the pecs ..??? WTH???? so I had not actually DONE anything but support my weight on the station .. it has to be something like a pinched nerve or tendon ???? it hurts to put weight on it .. it hurt during pushups (I did them tho) it hurt to support weight on the planks (I did it tho) .. IDK ... very odd . . never had it hurt like this?? It didnt feel like a tear - or a muscular injury b/c it kept moving w/the body ... so i am thinking it has to be tendon or nerve ..??? GGRRRRRR .. I am just fffn old!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad: None the less we did our BR-ish cardio and abs then did Trisets UB ... DOMS:shoudlers and tris!

Di - the Viper thing .. ya can see where it would make your body work in different way b/c of the instability of lifting the tube .. looks tuff .. guessing you are thinking it was worth the money :p

Lori - man getting your running legs back .. getting your lulu on .. heck ya .. I would say our girl is back in form!!! LOL cant wait to hear your take on AB!!! it is gonna surprise you!

Allee - congrats on the DOMS .. I feel your pain - I think LIS is one of the best rotations for beating boredom .. I mean i have done the DVD's (except the step one) and still dont know what is next .. LoL!!

Wendy - I made another exercise purchase - :eek: - the Weider X Factor - i saw the thread on it .. then looked on web .. then found linc to walmart site to store ..and they had it for $29 .. OK .. I caved .. couldnt resist it .. me and SIL gonna try one today at lunch (if the shoulder hangs in)

OK .. better run .. today is one of the Xfactor workouts at lunch - (i am scared) - then tonight the girls are getting together to celebrate FAT THURSDAY .. ya .. we forgot FAT TUE . so we are celebrating tonight!! :p should be fun!~! I will be in another office tmrw .. :( ... not sure what I will end up doing for a workout .. I may do one of the Xfactor ones .. we will see how today goes!! have a great one!:D

I have some nice DOMS in my lower body from Tony but none in my back. Oh well. Ya win some, ya lose some! :p

Well I went to bed too late last night :rolleyes: so ended up sleeping in a bit and did not have time for my planned upper body X work out :eek: soooo I reorganized and further modified my already modified version of this rotation :p and ended up doing S&G muscle conditioning premix this morning. No worries though, the X is still in my sights over the next few days! ;)

Di:: I didn't do LIC this week. I subbed 4DS LIS for it on Tuesday I think. I will do it next week though and fwiw, combo 4 remains a mystery to me! :p So did that VIPR class kick your butt well enough to spend the $ on another set of classes? ;)

Laura:: Nice! :D You will have to let me know how you like the new work outs! Jen and I briefly talked about this one a while back but neither of us ever bit. It's the same price as the X-Train I recently bought. I probably don't need both...:rolleyes: Hope the shoulder is better fast!!!!!!!!:eek:

Lori:: Hope the new Lulu fits! Let us know what you think of AB!

Allee:: I am doing a modified version of the 3 month LIS/STS rotation and subbing in P90X work outs for STS work outs where I want and it's working out beautifully. No reason you can't take the same rotation and and sub in the X for ALL of the STS work outs! I say go for it! ;)
