**Damage Control** December

Happy Christmas Monday Ladies.

I am waiting for my DH to get here to take me out to lunch so I figured I would check in while I was waiting. He is on his way back from the gym. We didn't work out in the same place but we did it together in spirit! ;)

I did Insanity: Max Cardio Conditioning and Tri Sets Lower Body Express today. Awesome combo!!!!

He's here! Gotta jet...BBL or tmrw!:cool:
 
Hi Ladies,

I'm going to attempt my first post surgery workout this morning. It will only be UB and abs, probably UB Tri-sets. I'm mostly concerned with dropping a weight on my foot. :eek:

DH and I didn't exchange gifts this year, not really very fun but we managed to take care of the kiddos. We bought DS3 a Dell laptop and Xbox live subscription, DS2 is getting $200 bucks towards a new cell phone and getting his own plan, DS1- we paid for the airfare for the girls and Amanda. The older boys also got gas cards and gift cards. They were all pretty happy.

Wendy-What a workout you did this morning. As soon as I can, I will be ordering the dip station...probably a couple months out though. The pullup bar seems to work okay for most of the exercises. What did Santa bring you?

Lori-I see you got an Ipad, very cool! What else did Santa bring you? Are you done with work now? I'm sure DS will love having you home.

Laura-What did Santa bring you? Guessing you are back to the Asylum today.

Allee-how was your Christmas? What did Santa bring you?

Diana:: Nice gifts you got your kids. Bummer about you and DH not exchanging gifts. Next year perhaps?? I got a bunch of good stuff this year. A Michael Kors purse, auto start for my car, diamond earrings and a dyson hand held vaccuum top the list! :D How long are your GD's with you? Enjoy your work out and definitely try not to drop anything on your foot ok!? :eek: Yes, definitely get the dip station when you are able. It's awesome! I am so happy with it! I got my sandbag shell delivered on Friday! I loaded it up and tried it. TOUGH! Going to have to lighten it up when I use it officially for the first time. Will have to pick a sandbag br or two to do this week so I can practice! ;)

Hi Ladies,

I opted for PUB since it's mostly done on a stable surface. Also, when I previewed UB Trisets it had pushups and I can't be on my foot in that position. It was nice to finally do a w/o. I had to skip the ab work since my girls woke up, but will get to them later today. Not sure what to do tomorrow since I hit all UB today.

Wendy-nice score this Christmas! Do you have the auto start installed in your car yet? What do you think of it? We're just dealing with the effects of the economy for the past couple years. DH had to take a pay cut and it's really been difficult, but doable if we watch our pennies. Hopefully the recession will end and DH will get his pay back, although I'm sure it won't make up for the 2 years of lower wages. I try not to dwell on it since there are others who have it much worse than us.

Diana:: Yes, when the auto start was purchased an appointment was made for y'day since I had the day off so it's in and I used it this morning! I've had it in other cars before and missed it so that's why I wanted it. Yep, times are tough for many. Good for you for being strict enough with your $$ to make it work on a lesser wage. Hopefully things will look up for you soon though!!! We have been very very lucky (knock on wood) in that the economy has not affected us so far...It will take it's toll when we sell our house b/c we will not make much if any profit but anything purchased will also be less expensive so in that regards it evens out I suppose...Not sure what you can do tmrw unless you do a coremax or some other long ab work out...and how about some floorwork for lower body? Can you do that maybe?? Are you still in any pain or has that subsided?

Way to look on the bright side! We've done very well with our mortgage, partly since we've been here for 13 yrs and refinanced a few years back to a 15yr mortgage. We only owe for 12-13 more years and have plenty of equity. We considered consolidating with our HELOC but the rates are atrocious due to the collapse of the housing industry.
 
Diana:: If you are able to keep up with your mortgage then you are doing very very well despite your situation! Good for you! So many people are behind if not losing their homes these days. It's sad. :(

OH MY goodness .. we have been swamped .. and busy busy .. I dont get it .. dont these people have somewhere to go?? LOL .. we are skeleton crew too .. sooo extra busy ..

HAD THE BEST HOLIDAY in a long time .. it was awesome .. I did manag some P90X2 workouts too .. but the eats were way off :eek: My tummy is glad that is over!!! LOL .. it is ready to get back to some clean eating patterns!!!

Wendy - GREAT workouts .. I think i am gonna print out the Christmas w/o and try them this week - NO CLASS .. and want to take advantage of it!!!

Di - well it sounds like you had a great Christmas .. all your family there and well .. awesome!!

Santa was good to me .. Lets see .. i got a Northface jacket - me and DH got us some Samsonite luggage :D (told him we WERE going to be traveling and vacationing this coming year) - I got some warm hunting/riding clothes (I sooooo needed these) - lots of smaller goodies and lets not forget my gift to myself P90X2 .. OH and not forget the universe's idea of irony I got to PAY TO GET MY CAR FIXED :eek::p

Hello to all that follow .. sorry I have been MIA .. but I have been a busy bee .. we did go on our usual visits w/elderly neighbors .. that was kinda sad .. we have lost some and some are ailing ... but they enjoyed the visits .. and I have officially DE-Christmas'ed the house .. I feel like I can breath again .. whew .. well still have the stuff piled in the garage to take to the attic .. but my house is done!!! :D

OK .. not sure if I will w/o today .. still have the PILE of stuff to get out of garage ...and I have major headache .. we will see how day goes ..

I slept in until 6 this morning. Felt great. I needed it! Still managed to squeeze in a short but sweet work out too! I took this short BR and added the exercises to it that are written in red! Everything with max reps next to it was done at 10s rest/50s work intervals.

Hi Ladies,

I need to vent-
I'm so tired of not being able to get around and being house bound-UGH. DS took me to the mall last night and I was so excited to go. We were getting his new cell phone. He dropped me off close to the door, I was able to make my way inside...quite slowly I might add...then on to the Cell Phone store, but waiting for the phone to be activated was pure torture. I seem to be getting around okay in my house, but am obviously not ready to go shopping. So sick of being stuck at home.:mad: I go back to work next Tuesday, but the stitches and the thick dressing don't come out/off until Thursday, Jan 5th....and DH will have to drive me to and from work since I can't drive with this stinkin' shoe.

Wendy-Way to workout girl! I ordered Criss Cross Cardio for the ab work that you used to talk about, and kickboxing will probably be what I have to do for bit until I can jump. P90X2, well I hope to start that as soon as I'm released from my Dr.'s care.

Laura-glad you had a wonderful Christmas!! I thought I was the only one who took my Christmas decorations down this early.:D Usually I leave them up until New Year's day, but need the extra space with the girls here.:)

Diana:: I can only imagine how frustrated you must be! I totally understand! HUGS to you!!!! Yes the stand up ab routine in Criss Cross is great for the obliques! I love it! I think you will really enjoy the kickboxing as well! I started to learn it but got frustrated b/c it gets trickier as you get further into it and you know how I tend to feel about complicated choreo! :rolleyes::confused::eek: There is also a short capoeria style leg conditioning routine on the dvd that's pretty cool too. Lotsa bang for your buck! :D

Hello Ladies ..

NOTHING to report exercise wise .. but I did get to go home and get some much needed stuff done .. then RELAX .. it was WONDERFUL .. I am SOOO enjoying this break!!! DH went in on days .. so he will be home tonight .. hoping w/his help can get the crap loaded in the attic tonight .. so that will be my workout .. well that and some extra cirricular activities ;) :p :D ... I am gonna take off exercise this week and get some stuff done like normal people and ENJOY NOT HAVING to exercise .. watching the eats now .. and I am gonna start SAT morning a new .. attack the fat and treats and junk .... thinking Hiit workout AND a p90x2 weight workout .. SAT SUN and MON .. :eek: :D

Di .. wow .. sorry you are in such pain .. that is terrible and I can imagine how frustrating .. I know when i had my wrist surgery .. it was torture b/c the rest of me felt fine and WANTED NEEDED to exercise but I couldnt b/c of the pain and constant heartbeat of pain in my arm .. ggggrrr .. so disheartning ..

WEndy .. WTG on the w/o .. you go girl .. awesome job ... yes these new w/o look awesome .. really like the new BR stuff ..

So last night I pulled out a binder that I had page protectors in with spread sheets of work outs in them...mostly Cathe. I was using a dry erase marker to keep track of my weights on the page protector so I could keep the spread sheets in tact and never have to re-print them. Well that died like a dog some time ago LOL and binder has been sitting untouched for a couple years now. Finally decided to make use of it so last night I threw away all of the spread sheets and cleaned off all of the page protectors. I am now in the process of putting together what I will affectionately call my "Body Rock Bible"-a compilation of of Body Rock work out descriptions!! Right now I just have a pile of junky paper. I want to try to make it a little neater so it's easier to find what I want/need in the future. :)


Laura:: How'd you go from trying out some BR's this week taking a rest week?? :p Well, enjoy the change of pace no matter how you decide to handle it! :)
 
Hi Ladies,

Yesterday was a much better day.:) I feel bad that I can't take the girls to the park or outside to play. There's too much snow in our backyard, but the temps are supposed to be in the high 40's and low 50's for the next week.

My biceps were certainly sore from PUB on Tuesday. I may do that same w/o again today or GS C&T and abs. The dropsets of pushups will have to be on my knees, but that's better than nothing.

Wendy-Getting organized is such a good feeling. I usually copy and paste the workout from the BR site into Word and print it off. I can keep track of my scores, cals burned, date done etc. The page protectors are a great idea. I used that same method in the past but one of the kids needed the page protectors for school and I never replaced them.

Laura-enjoy your rest week, I'm sure you will get a lot done! I need to clean up my diet which was good until about a week ago. Need to refocus on nutrition since I'm not doing any cardil.

Hi Ladies.

Well I was 2 minutes from doing my work out when stomach issues hit this morning and stopped me dead in my tracks. :( Ofcourse they subsided just in time for me to go to work though. :mad: I would attempt a work out this evening but I have to pack for the weekend so I think it'll just have to be an unscheduled rest day. I will work out tmrw though!!! :D

MOrning ladies ..

I am back at my desk for today only - one step closer to the weekend . and it is a long weekend at that .. woot woot!!!! I had a great date night last night ;) no workout but calories were burned ;) :p I think this week will renew my spirit ... it is so nice to have a break!!! even tho work is a night mare!!!!

Wendy - ya .. took a drastic turn didnt I? LOL I think i am just burned out - you know HAVING to be at class is a lot different than wanting to exercise or doing it of your own free will .. and it is just nice to not HAVE to .. think I needed a mental break ... and I rarely do this .. soooooo one week off is not gonna kill me or make/break me (I may eek in a wlk/run at lunch tho it is beautiful out) .. I think come SAT I will have a renewed sense of dedication and ready to kick some arse working out!!! Are you going to A/C this weekend???

Di - well at least you are getting to work your upper body .. that is good!!! glad you are feeling a bit better at least ..

OK .. soooooo my pants are fitting a bit tighter :eek: I am PMSing bad .. soooooooooo I know the goof off stage is about to come to an end!! LOL .. I do not dare get on the scales .. LOL!!!

So do any of you have any awesome New Year plans??? DH is off ... and there is a party down the road .. and we have been invited to eat w/the hunters ..so again we have a bunch of plans ... should be fun!!!
 
Laura:: I get it re the class vs exercising for YOU! Do what works for ya!! :) Yep, AC or bust baby! A little different this year though as we are bringing DS with us. Our usual sitter(s) have plans this year so they are unavailable. Bringing DS, hired a sitter for fri/sat night down there. She is a referral from the casino host we deal with. She sits for one of his coworker's kids. She is going to make a good buck on us too! Babysitting is quite profitable these days apparently! :eek: We will hang with DS during the day together on Saturday except for taking a couple turns each to gamble a bit ofcourse! ;) Should be fun-just different! :D Enjoy your holiday!
