Damage Control August :)

Hello Ladies. :)

This morning I backed the swing count down a bit since y'day's was over 400 in total and I was sore!

Here's what I did:
25 hand to hand swings alternated with 10 SB Circles (active rest) x 8 rounds = 200 swings

Tonight I am training 2 clients at once. :) I trained them before...once at the same time and several times separately. Tonight though, my boss is really putting me to the test...he isn't going to be there to ask questions and they are both doing brand new work outs with lots of new moves. Going to be a challenge for them AND for me! :eek: Thankfully my boss has already given me the ok to use substitute exercises if there is something I am unfamiliar with as there is no time for him to go over anything with me before tonight. So I spent last night googling a lot of what I didn't recognize. I found some stuff but couldn't find others so whatever I didn't find I am just using an alternate exercise for-which there actually isn't much so I'm sure it will be fine in the end....RIGHT?? :confused:

Laura:: As if 40 hrs a week isn't enough time to give to a job and then you gotta give up a weekend too and unpaid to boot!? WTH!? :mad: Sounds like Brutus is giving you a run for your money! Reminds me of the dog from Turner and Hooch! :D Were the other two that feisty at that age?

Diana:: So what's sore on you this morning? :) Ready to get back in the "SWING" of things yet!? :p ROTF! :D

10 reps of each of the following exercises followed by 50 swings x 4 rounds....

1) 2 DB chest press in floor bridge position
2) 1 arm bent over DB row with pause at top
3) 2 DB squat and overhead press
4) other arm bent over DB row with pause at top
5) alternate hand slide reach

well the DOMS set in good from heavy weights .. it really was "delayed" this time .. LOL .. I managed T25 TB tho ... and got my hair cut .. it is cute!! a good hair cut always helps my feelings!! :) I did run Brutus when i got home .. and MY GOODNESS it was HOT .. he wasnt quite as energetic as the day before .. LOL .. it was just too hot .. 97 degrees 100% humidity! Today is JNL bis at lunch and t25 lb tonight.

Wendy - great workouts - you are doing excellent on your swinging goals!! and yes .. you know you GOT the training ...NO WORRIES there at all!! YOU GOT THIS!! and yes Brutus is much like HOOCH .. Buster was rambunctious like Brutus.. but Toots has always been laid back and quiet .. just a sweet girl .. guess the males are just "full of it" ... LOL

and I have MAJOR DOMS in my bis .. eeeeooooouuuuccccch!!!!!!! JNL ripped them up for sure .. and I did T25 Lower focus and it set my lower half ON FIY-YAH!!!! didnt take my baby for a run .. it was too hot and I was too tired! Today is REST day! except for his walk/run .. b/c boy I could tell he didnt get it .. he was a MANIAC last night!! :confused::confused:

SIL and I are gonna do AB tmrw .. i am gonna DIE~!!:confused::confused::confused: have not done Cathe in forever :confused::confused: i am a skeered :eek: :eek: :p:p then HOPING the sun will stay out and we can catch some rays tmrw afternoon :cool:

Hi Ladies,

We had a department picnic on Friday. It was actually pretty fun. They had a dunk tank and we nominated those we wanted to go in the tank. That was fun.

My last swim practice was Friday morning and my partner and I rode 8 miles today, just to get the legs warmed up for tomorrow.

HM training starts on Tuesday. I'm already 2 weeks behind so will just pick it up at week 3. :p The rotation I'm following is 4 days of running, so I'll have to figure out the weight training part of the rotation. Hopefully I'll have time to do that tomorrow.

Laura-yes, the triathlon is tomorrow...and I'm actually looking forward to it. The swimming is still the hardest for me, but I'm hoping all the hours spent practicing this year will pay off. I'll let you know. Last year I finished in 1:41:01. Hopefully my time will be at least the same if not better.

Wendy-I'm still trying to keep up with the 100 swings/day challenge. How did the training go? I'm sure you did great.

Lori-what are you up to this weekend?

No Swings.....YET! But hopefully this afternoon!

Hi Ladies,

I survived the Tri today!!! My total time was 1:40:18, just over a minute faster than last year.

I felt really good on the swim and was able to swim the whole way without flipping onto my back etc. I am very disappointed that my swim time ended up being slower this year than last. I felt that with all the time/energy I put into improving my swimming that my time would be better. On the bright side, I felt strong and confident during the swim. Last year I was nervous and scared. My DH said "maybe you swim faster when you're panicked". :confused:

My training partner and I are looking at another tri on September 22nd. It's co-ed, not sure I'm ready for that. We will decide this week if we are going to do it or not.

Wendy-you are rocking the swings!!! You Go Girl!!! I'm getting most days in and making up for the ones that I don't.

Morning Ladies ..

I FINALLY GOT SOME SUN - got my afternoon POOLSIDE :cool::cool::cool::cool: it was wonderful - my arms and chest got a little TOO much sun! SAT - sil and i did AB - could tell havent done Cathe in a while :confused: but I will say my mountain climbers, spidermans and pushups were better - combat and t25 have improved that for me - but can tell i have been slacking on the squats and lunges - DOMS: BUTT!!! DH and I went shopping and then to the casino that afternoon/night and i had numerous CABS .. sooo had large head ystdy - no workout!! but NICE afternoon poolside :cool: i blew the diet BIG TIME this weekend :eek::eek::eek: yikes!

DI - CONGRATS ON THE TRI!! woot woot .. great time .. and I would think the slower swim time .. could be b.c you didnt turn over on your back .. but hey .. kudos for you feeling strong and doing great .. WTG!!!!

Morning Ladies ..

I am in another office this morning .. had all sorts of things go wrong this morning .. ugh :confused::confused: Ystdy - JNL shoulder shreddar - did just that shredded my shoulders DOMS: entire shoulder and arm area - then did T25 core cardio .. today .. I brought my workout gear and plan on doing combat core at lunch .. and T25 speed after work .. I left Baby Brutus AKA the destroyer and Toots in the poolroom for first time .. no access to the house .. Lord I hope he doesnt tear up all my exercise stuff!! :confused: :( We found where he chewed the knobs/handles off of DH oak desk :confused: DH was ticked .. I swear .. I am sorry .. i looked at it .. busted out laughing .. how can one dog tear so much crap up???????

Wendy - great workout ... did I see on Fb you got a kitten added to your household??? so a dog - a hamster and a kitten??? LOL ..

Hi Ladies,

I started my HM training this morning! I'm following a 12 week program but am starting late....so I started with week 3 today. It was a 3.5 mile run, then I tacked on Burn Sets Bi's, 100 swings, and my own ab work. I didn't realized there was a premix for each body part individually on Burn Sets!:D Doing one or 2 UB parts on my shorter run days will work perfectly!

Work was awful today....glad it is over and am looking forward to a better day tomorrow.

Laura-Sorry you had a stressful day. Combat core is awesome!! Wish I had time to get back to T25.

Wendy-You are creating some nice circuits! How are you preventing calluses from all the swings? I didn't use my lifting gloves the first few days but have been more recently. The damage is done though. I've been doing hanging leg raises and my hands really hurt then.:confused:

Good Morning:)

I kind of slept in this morning....I didn't get up early enough to work but Im up to early to get ready for work but that's probably a good thing. It's month end so I should try to get there earlier then I do most days. I think I will straighten my hair today so that will take up a fair bit of my time as well.

I had my hair colored on Saturday and the high lights are very vibrant but they fade fast. I had to go back to the salon yesterday to buy this product, its almost like a red stain. Its suppose to last 30 days but in my hair it won.t

Ive been keeping up with my workouts of course. Yesterday was a double workout. I did GS bics, abs and a 10 k run in the morning and last night I did GS legs standing and 100 hip thrust.

I ordered T25...and stupid, stupid like I bought the gama one...thinking it had everything! Well no its doesn't...it has 4 dvds!!!!!! I was confused b/c when I went to the post office by box had a hole in it so I thought I was missing a set of dvds. I could have sent it back but I had already used it by the time I figured out i had the wrong thing. But seriously!!!! $119 for 4 dvds?? They are good though. I may order the other set yet, just not right now. We have to go into the city next week to pick up my in laws and then I go back on the weekend for a girls trip...and the race.

Diana** I didn't know you registered for a half! Love the pics of your tri! There is a half here this weekend that I thought about doing but 2 back to back may be tough. I could do the 10 k and try for a crazy time though.

Wendy** How was that training session?? I would have been a basket case. There are so many moves out there it's cray and then there is one move with about 10 different names!!!

Laura** So the pup runs with you?? Is he good? I take our dog when Im not doing anything pass 10. He use to get tired at the 6k mark but yesterday he did 10 k with me no problem. He gets up when I get up in the morning, just to see what the plan is. Once hes figured out we aren't going anywhere, he heads back to bed! LOL

WED - hump day - woot woot!

we had bad storms ystdy to end on .. ugh!! REAL BAD winds .. scary stuff! I did combat core attack at lunch - LUV that workout - then t25 speed after work DURING the scary storm! ugh Today hitting cc at lunch going to do JNL weights not sure which one .. either bis again or chest .. then tonight prbly combat hiit or t25 lower focus

Wendy - a puppy?? GEESH I AM BLIND!! crap .. i could have sworn I saw a kitten walking on a couch?? i am loosing it!!! :confused:

DI - good luck on 1/2 marathon training .. yup you got so much going on t25 will have to be on back burner .. LOL!!!

Lori - OMG .. $119 for JUST THE BETA .. WTH??? geesh SURELY that is wrong .. for that price it should have been BOTH alpha and beta ???? I would check again on that crap!!!! No Brutus doesnt go on my regular runs .. not yet anyway .. his bones are too soft to be exercised too much .. sooo his runs are shorter .. I need to post a recent pic of him .. he looks like MARMADUKE or Scooby Doo .. nothing but LEGS and Head .. LOL .. he is taller than my Buster and Toots .. but FAST and AGILE .. that dog is quick and agile on those long limbs of his!!!

Hey Ladies. :)

No time to post this morning but I'm here now...

My work out was the following circuit done 3x through::

Single Leg Squat (10 per leg each round)
SB Roll Out-Push Up Position (10 each round)
Sliding Rear Lunge (10 per leg each round)
Plank to Push Up/Body Saw combo (5 on one side for round 1, 5 on other side for round 2. 5 on both sides for round 3.)

Then 200 swings interval style.

Diana:: No escaping callouses for me! The gloves make it better but don't take away the problem when doing so many swings consistently! I get them easily as it is!:rolleyes: Good luck with your HM training and nice work out!

Lori:: Nice work out! My hair doesn't hold the color red very well either. :( The double training session went well. It's confusing/hectic at times but practice makes perfect and more money too! ;):D

Laura:: Nice work out! Sorry about the bad storm. Scary for sure!:eek: A kitten on my couch?? Um, you were probably looking at a video of my hamster silly! LMAO!

Hi Ladies,

Things were a bit off this morning since DH decided to stay home. Needless to say, I started my workout later than normal and had to choose a shorter w/o. I opted for Cardio Supersets and 100 swings-upped my KB weight to 30#'s. :D

I was up .8 at my weigh in today...this up/down on the scale is really annoying. My leader said to change up my foods for the next couple weeks and see if that helps me bust through this plateau. I tend to eat the same foods every day, perhaps a change will do me good.

I didn't sign up for August Boot Camp since I will be missing several w/o's due to back to school/football activities.

Lori-Sorry about the mishap with t25. The set I have the alpha (month 1) and Beta (month 2). I didn't order the Gamma discs which are the weight w/o's for the T25 series. You also ordered the Deluxe that comes with a mat and tubing. The discs themselves are $59. I may be doing another triathlon next month!:eek: You must either get up really early or run super fast to be able to do a 10k and GS bi's before work!

Laura-More storms for you...you need a break. We are getting a bit of rain every few days, but not enough for us to not have to water our lawn. You are rockin' the workouts missy!

Wendy-glad I'm not alone on the calluses. I love your circuits!! Tomorrow's plan is a 3.5 mile run, Burn Sets Triceps, and 100 swings.

Morning Ladies ..

Ytdy - JNL upperbody transformer - and afterworkt25 ab intervals - OK ..that workout is nothing but PAIN!!!! EEEEOUCH!!!! no DOMS today surprisingly so!!! MORE STORMS ystdy .. MORE storms today .. MORE storms thru the weekend .. and a Low out near the Gulf that is trying to develop into a storm .. AND a named tropical storm off coast of Africa Tropical Storm Erin - GEESH!!!!! maybe I need to start building an arc!!! :confused:

Di - yes we are soaked and soggy down here - terrible weather - it just sucks!! and there is no end in sight for a while!!! I think being up and down on the scale is normal .. i mean you are talking less than a pound!! hang in there and dont beat yourself up!

Wendy - LOLOL .. LMAO!! OK .. yes I am officially blind .. prbly was the hamster :eek::eek::p:p:p:p:p that is freaking hillarious!!! ONLY ME!!! great circuit!

Lori - did you check on teh T25 .. b/c I think you got ripped off!!!

Hi Girls. :)

No work out for me this morning. I got up in time but really just wasn't feeling it so I cleaned my work out room instead. :rolleyes:

Tonight I am doing 2 sessions back to back at the studio. One personal training session followed by the usual 7pm group training session. :)

So tmrw it's ON! :D

Laura:: Nice work outs! IDK how you consistently do multiple work outs a day! Between you, Lori and Diana working out for hours a day it seems, I look like a slouch! :eek:

Di:: Congrats on upping your KB weight! I have been alternating between 20, 30 and 40 pound kb's for my swings. I have heard that changing up the diet is a good thing as well. Let us know how it works for you!

That's all for now....I'm done eating and contemplating taking a short snooze in my car until lunch is over!

Fly by with my work out...personals later!

Pull Ups, Push Ups and Sandbag Squats (5 of each except for a 10 count in one round just to shake things up!;))
followed by
30 seconds of swings (swing total: 205)
and lastly
One arm push up position held for 10 count (alternated sides each round)

I did this circuit 10x through with no rest. KILLER!!!!!:eek::D
