Damage Control April!!

Beth-B-Fit

Cathlete
Hi All! Diana, I saw your last post and figured I'd start it this month. After LIS trisets lower body my foot hurt a bit the next day. I think I will go to the podiatrist tomorrow just to see what is going on. We had snow here yesterday, but tomorrow they're forecasting 50 and DH said we could put air in the tires and do a short ride!

BBL-off to work.

Beth

Thanks for starting a new thread Beth! :) This morning was disc #30, SBT. Tonight I'll do MM upper body premix with DH. I've been into the Easter candy and need to burn a few more calories.

Beth, I hope you have a great bike ride. It's getting warmer here too, but we have lots of rain in the forecast. We still have snow that needs to be melted, so it's okay with me. Good luck at the doctor's. :)

Diana, I'll forgive you for the 80 degree comment, seems how you have rain and snow coming your way. It was 44 degrees today and I cracked the windows upstairs just to get some fresh air in here. I too would like to get a second barbell and some different sized weighted gloves. Moving those little sand bags in and out of the zipper is a pain. I need one more 30lb dumbbell and a 35lb dumbbell pair. When I first bought my weights, they were only 39 cents per pound.

Hi to everyone. BBL to check in.

Hi Ladies,

Another long day of training. I managed a walk this afternoon, but that's it. I was too tired to drag myself out of bed this morning.

Beth-thanks for starting the new thread! Oh no, best to see the dr. and find out what's going on with your foot. Enjoy your ride if you are able to get out. I also need to get my bike out, dust it off, oil the chain and pump up the tires. My tri training class starts next week so I need to get my bike ready to go.

Tina-Nice job with STS and MM-you are crazy!!! Yes, we are expecting 3-6 inches of snow over Thursday and Friday. I can't wait for the snow to be gone.

I actually went back to Shaun T this morning! I know I said I wouldn't but I was looking for 30 min of intense and I looked at a bunch of Cathe's and nothing fit the bill. I was looking for intense step that wasn't HiiT, although, Max Out Sweat may have been a HiiT. He used the Lord's name in vain again, in the first minute! What is the deal? (Did I already vent about this??) I may do another of his tomorrow, I don't know. I actually liked today's wo, some moved I hated and some I liked.

Diana- I can't believe you are getting that much snow! Where are you again? We had a nice one today 57º and sunny!

Tina- I got a set of 30s and a 35s this Christmas, but returned the 35 hoping for a 40, now I wish I had just kept the 35, not that I've needed it, I just fear I might some day a regret not keeping it.

Hi all! Monday I did Slow and Heavy Chest/Back. Tuesday I walked and today we are biking! I'll let you know what the doc says tonight.

Beth

Insanity Max 30: Max Out Strength today, no cursing. Yay! Lots of push up and various kind of push ups. I stink at push ups! But there we're some exercises that I did like, but I forget what they are!

Good news from the doctor! I have a fissure on the side of my foot-basically the skin split open and that's what causes the pain. It's inflamed because it's trying to heal. No surgery, just some cream 2x/day. We took an hour bike ride yesterday! It rained a bit on us, but wasn't bad. All the HiiT over the winter has pain off! Looks like we'll go again next Monday-we go when it's over 60 degrees.

LL, glad Max 30 is calling your name again! Maybe you were too under the weather last time you were doing them and now that you feel better they're going better.

Diana, you'll be WD 40 ing your bike next week! Enjoy! Are you done the work training today?

Beth

Beth- may you are right, but thinking about doing Friday Fight Round 2 has me going ugh! I don't know if that is what I will do today, crampy, that time of the month! Great news about your foot! Happy you don't have to have surgery too.

Well, I did Friday Fight Round 2 and it wasn't so bad, only profanity was once in the cool down. It was tough but not totally insane to me. Maybe because after I maxed out at 8 min I did the modifier and some stuff I just did slower.

Thursday was KM, yesterday was FT + RWH UBC premix without blasts (nice combo), and today was a rainy bike ride. Tomorrow looks like better weather, so we'll try for a longer ride tomorrow.

Beth, great news about your foot. Nice job on the hour long bike ride. It feels so good to be outside!!

Off to work for a 10 hour shift. Happy Easter to all of you. :)

Hi Ladies,

I've haven't been feeling well the past several days. Nothing terrible, just feeling dizzy and nauseous and had absolutely no energy. The only day I worked out this week was Tuesday morning. I did manage to walk most evenings, but did miss 1.

Still not up to par, but I did STS discs 29 & 30 today. Plyo Legs and CSB. I felt sick during the leg w/o, ugh.

LL-sounds like you are rocking the Max 30 w/o's this week. I guess I never noticed his comments or it just doesn't bother me. I'm in Colorado, and today is sunny and 65! The snow has already melted.

Beth-S&H is an oldie but goodie! I haven't done that one in ages. I used to follow Cathe's rotation and would just do it when it popped up. How nice that you were able to get in a bike ride! That's great news about your foot. Hope it heals quickly.

Tina-I love how you mix and match your workouts. I'm jealous that you and Beth are already riding. Time to prep my bike for tri-training!

Hi ladies,

Diana, you are amazing! STS 29 and 30 when you don't feel too well?! Kidding aside, I hope you got some needed rest. You are always on the go with work and family...maybe you just needed a few days off. Speaking of days off, I took yesterday off. I ended up working a 12 hour shift and felt terrible last night. I woke up to my period. That explains why I had to make chocolate chip cookies on Thursday! I wasn't sure I'd make it to work this morning, but I did. By 11 AM I was feeling back to normal. After work, I did Cardio Leg Blast then made a carrot cake for desert tomorrow. It's my own concoction-whole wheat flour, non-fat greek yogurt, applesauce, eggs, and spices. I also cut out 1/2 cup of sugar. We'll see if everyone likes it! My dad thinks I put tofu in everything from my vegetarian days so he's always leery!

I hope to workout tomorrow before dinner at 4. I'm thinking CCC to torch some calories!

Happy Easter all,

Beth

Hi all! Happy Easter! He is Risen!

Today I did any oldie but goodie: Rhythmic Step, good steady state cardio and fun! Not sure if I'll have time for anything tomorrow: church in the morning and Easter lunchtime dinner.

Tina- I'm trying to figure out what KM-kick max? And FT are? I don't know how you bike in the rain!

Diana-hope you feel better soon! But you still got an STS wo in! nice! We had 60s and sunny today but very windy. My 2 oldest boys flew a kite it was so windy!

Beth-12 hr shift! I hope you rested well after that! I totally understand the chocolate, mine came Thursday and made chocolate chip cookies on Friday night. Your carrot cake sounds healthy but still good, hope everyone likes it!

Yesterday was a windy bike ride, which was fun while it was a tail wind, but brutal when it turned to a head wind for the last 15 miles home. Felt like we were going uphill the whole way back. Today will be M3D31 and an X10 segment. Yesterday's eating bonanza must be paid for today. We'll take a long walk later too. The sun is actually poking out today.

LL, FT is Flex Train and your right about KM, which has just recently become one of my favorite workouts. It feels like a core workout for the entire combo section. I LOVE the RS workout, so much fun!

Diana, I hope you're feeling better. Funny how we always seem to be right around the same phase of STS every time. Only two weeks left! I'm going to take a few weeks off and do XT, GS, S&H, and 4DS and then restart STS for the summer. I love how it pairs with cycling.

Beth, how did your carrot cake turn out?

Hi to everyone who follows. We seem to be missing a few people, where are you?

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I did Imax 3 and the next STS, can't remember the number but it was C&B. Those are the longest and I really only have time for them on the weekend....or in the evening. This morning was Plyo Legs. Tomorrow, since I am working from home I should be able to get in the next STS disc-SBT.

We had a wonderful family get together at my dear MIL's! It was a great day filled with family, friends and a feast. I didn't over indulge and my weight was actually down a pound this morning. I'm sure it will catch up soon though.

I started the April ab challenge at the new gym. It will really keep me motivated. You can earn up to 5pts daily by: 1) doing the Ab circuit 3 times (3X per week it needs to be weighted), 2)staying in your calorie range, 3)hitting your protein goal, 4) running 7 sprints, 5) posting on FB daily. I tend to go over my calorie goal sometimes-that one is tough for me.

Beth-TTM always wreaked havoc on me. My healthy eating went out the window and the chocolate cravings were terrible. I don't have to worry about that anymore though and feel so much better. I love CLB!!! What a great choice! How did your carrot cake turn out?

LL-RS is a such a fun w/o!! If I recall, it took me a long time to master the 3rd section.

Tina-You are a trooper, riding in the wind...ugh. Tri training starts tomorrow night and I haven't been on my bike since last August. My tri training partner and I used to ride whenever it was nice out. Now that she can't ride, it just doesn't seem as much fun going by myself. I'm sure I'll get back into it once class starts. WE are only close on STS because when you do it, it makes me want to do it too. I'm not sure what I'll do during tri-training. I lose a lot of strength during the summer.

Yes, what has happened to our long lost Laura & Jacque???

All day volleyball tournament at Messiah College today. We had to leave before 6. JTrain one his first game, 7 to go before playoffs. So no wo for me today but I did bring my sneakers and walked and puns campus for an hour or so and saw my old dorms! JTrain has won 3 out of 5 games and has a break before the last 2 games before playoffs. I think Hubby and I will go for another walk, 75° and sunny, can't beat that! Unfortunately, it's supposed to be rainy until maybe Saturday. [emoji20]

Tina- ah Flex Train. I don't have that one. I figured it was similar to super cuts and didn't want to spend the money on many of that series. I have X10 and the 2 step ones.

Diana-your ab challenge sounds great! Are you going to measure and see how you did at the end? What is your height and calorie goal? Since I do WW I don't focus on calories too much but I think I should be around 1500.

Today is plyo legs and LLA. The pain on my left side is gone, so I'm adding in lots of ab work this week. Yesterday I used an 85lb barbell for chest and back, the most I've ever used. I know I was a my 90 percent max because every 6th rep was a squeaker. There isn't any more space in my STS workbook to write in. I've made small improvements every single time I've gone through the program. My single best fitness purchase ever!

Diana, good luck at tri training. Are you starting in the pool? I wish we lived near each other, I'd love to do the bike training with you. Good job keeping in your calorie range for Easter. I made a chocolate coconut lamb cake and last night I tossed the remains in the garbage. Everyone in the house is tired of sugar and wants to start eating better.

LL, isn't walking with your DH therapeutic? I love ending the day with a long walk and a good discussion. I'm jealous it's 75 where you are!

Off to get this day started! Have a great one! :)

Easter I did end up doing CCC after work. It was hard! My legs were tired from CLB! The cake is more like a snacking' cake-can taste the coconut, pineapple and cinnamon. The thought of butter, cream cheese, and 4 cups of powdered sugar did not appeal to me on Sunday so I served it with whipped cream. My dad didn't even try it! Oh well, we brought what was left home and have had it with coffee. It was still good to get together with everyone.

Yesterday the weather was nice so we biked again! It finally feels like spring! You've picked a good time to start the ti training, Diana. Yoga started again for me last night. This month is called: Rebuilding the core. It was pretty easy-one banana hold and maybe 4 planks. I go mostly for the social interaction. I wish we had a gym here that had the challenges and equipment and classes that you get to experience! You live in a big city, though. I'm in the "wilds" of PA.

LL, glad to hear the volleyball tournament is going well! Will you go from this right into baseball/little league? Good thing you like to walk...you'll have many hours!

Tina, congratulations on 85 lbs! Wow! If Cathe did an infomercial for STS you would be great to have in it! I, too, am now off to get the day going. Last week I spring cleaned the upstairs bathroom on my day off. Today I'm tackling the kitchen. Then I want to do Power Hour or some total body weight work since it's been forever since I've done weights! So I better get going!

Have a good day, all.

Beth

Tina- wow 85#!!!amazing! I don't have STS and I don't think I have the time for it or can make the commitment right now. And yes I love walking with Hubby! It had been way too long but with the youngest 3 at home with a sitter and the oldest hanging out with his friends eating for the next match, it was the perfect time. A beautiful day and truly a beautiful campus!

I did get about 7-8 hours of sleep last night but I'm still really tired. I'm not sure what/if workout I'll get in today. I'm at the oral surgeon's office waiting for B to finish his minor surgery on his gums.

Hi Ladies,

Today was the next STS disc-33 I think-Shoulders, Bi's Tri's. I used 50# for overhead press, 57.5# for biceps, and 22# for triceps-skull crushers. I was feeling strong today. Tri training starts tonight. I'm guessing we will run/swim tonight. We'll see how much we have time for. The first class is introductions, what to expect from the class etc. Going forward we will run/swim one night and bike/swim the next. It works out pretty well. I think in June I'll start taking the aquatic conditioning class to help me with swimming. It's so hard for me and just doesn't seem to get any easier.

I have 5k race this weekend and am looking forward to a shorter run! The weather calls for cloudy and 66. Nice running weather.

We had to have one of our cars towed to a transmission shop. It's the car DS2 is buying from us and he's paid almost 50% of what he owes us so far. Now to have this happen is just devastating. We should get an estimate on it sometime tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to that. Having to carpool and leave by 6am tomorrow does not leave me time for a w/o. Workouts may be hit or miss the next few days until we can get the car fixed or decide what we have to do.

Tina-nice job with STS!!! 85# was my max for C&B too. So plyo legs and LLA on the same day-you crazy girl!:) Nice work!! DS3 and I pumped up my bike tires today. I don't plan on taking it to class tonight though.

LL-glad you were able to fit in a walk with your DH. I wish my DH would walk with me. I'm 5'5" and my calorie goal is 1400-1500, and my protein goal is 112-125. I do okay on the protein, my problem is not going over my calories.

Beth-Nice job with CLB, love that w/o!! So you are out riding too??? I don't have anyone to ride with anymore so I'm really looking forward to the tri-training class. I've been doing some spring cleaning too. If everyone else would help me it would go so much faster. I'm at the point where I just want to get a roll off dumpster and throw out a bed, old mattresses and all the other junk. While were at it we may as well have new carpet put in and paint.
