Damage Control - April

TGIF - and Happy Easter weekend!

Morning ladies!

ystdy was a REST day - well sort of - DATE NIGHT was a workout! :p ;) DH outdid himself .. yowza - I even have DOMS in my lower abs :eek: it was a GREAT time! {{ gggrrrroooowwwwllllll }}

Today it is cooler - only to be 72 - crisp air - perfect running weather - storms are supposed to be gone - so I am hoping for a longer run this afternoon :D:D:D

Tmrw is my DM b-day - Sun is my VBF DH b-day - MON is one our BF b-day! :confused: Busy weekend!! LOL and of course EASTER .... I gotta run errands at lunch - get EAster goodies - eggs - and CABS for the weekend! VBF came up w/a new drink - I am gonna buy the fixings for - think this would be a perfect PRE-flight drink the day of our trip - Cherry vodka - sprite zero - lemon squeeze - and a splash of cherry juice! mmm mmm mmm I am not an alcohol drinker - but that sounds doable for a pre-flight drink!! to calm my nerves!!

Wendy -all of Bob's workouts are like that to me - you put them up - and forget about it - then when you get it out to do it .. you think HOLY CRAP why havent I been doing this .. they sneak up on you .. LOL .. he is evil like that!

Di -see you are working on Good Friday too - oh well - sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead too - MAINE - oh man that is one trip I would love to go .. have always wanted to visit Maine's coast!

Lori - ya just about ALL our storms here have bad lightning - thunder - wind - and sometimes hail .. we have had people that get struck by lightning in this area .. b/c it comes outta no where ..

OK .. better run .. have to get desk caught up - I will only work one day next week .. :D... mon .. then tue i have meetings .. then it is off to vacation land - OF COURSE .. i have that sinking sick gut feeling of worry about my friend .. she is weak and wont be here much longer .. I hope it dont happen while I am away :( I also have the nagging worry about my Buster - he is doing good - but you never know .. but again .. I know my friend wouldnt expect or want me to cancel my trip .. WAITING ... and w/Buster .. it is just a time thing too ... but right now he is doing good ... so no reason why he wont do just fine while we are gone!

So I am assuming that it isn't a holiday in the U.S today? Its good friday here...thought it was good fri everywhere!:eek:

I was soooo lazy earlier but I got my butt in gear and as soon as I started doing the warm up of S&A, I quickly came around. I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to "bring it" today but I think I did good. I did S&A, 25 interval run, and most of MM. DS woke just as I was finishing up the shoulder work. Tomorrow is Vertical plyo so I will probably do another run and finish up MM.

Diana** Enjoy your company this weekend. Booking trips are fun!!!

Laura** Staying home isn't going to do anyone any good. My parents went to Jerusalm last Fall and while they were away my aunt passed away. She wasn't well but my mom hoped that she wouldn't pass until she returned. Sadly they buried her the day before she returned home. The family felt terrible but they decided that it was to hard on their father, who isn't the picture of health either. So i am guessing that my mom said "good bye" in her own way. Thanks for describing your sexcapade! LOL

Wendy** Sounds like you might be a hurting unit tomorrow;) I enjoy Amy Bento's slo mo but the slo isn't my style these days. Its get in and get it done! I will pull that one out when there is a nap schedule in this house!

I will bb tomorrow. We are going to my inlaws for supper and then just hanging out I guess.

Lori-It is Good Friday here but not all companies give us the day off. This is not a "day off" holiday for me. Nice w/o today!!! I'm an Amy Bento fan too, my muscles are always screaming at me after her w/o's!

Laura-your new drink sounds delicious! I still need to figure out what I'm making for dessert and go buy the stuff to make it. I planned on making something diabetic friendly but DH nixed that. You need to keep living your life, the time and memories with your friend is what's important. Where are you going on vacation? Not sure if you ever mentioned it.

Wendy-what do you have planned for Easter?? We are going to MIL's and I've been tasked with bringing dessert and a relish tray.

Good morning,

Had a good night last night. For one, I had a hour long nap at my in laws after dinner:), then went to bed at 12:30 and the baby woke at 4:30 and just now.

Today's workout is suppose to be plyo but it's such a beautiful day that I think I'm gonna have to run outside. Also need to get groceries b/c everything was closed yesterday and will be closed again tomorrow. We also have DS's I ce show tonight....should be nice.

Diana** I think yesterday was a mandatory holiday here but I'm not sure which one is a paid holiday, yesterday or tomorrow. I'd know if I was working ;)

Just finished my work out a few minutes ago...

Bob's Work Out #1 from the Inside Out Series and Premix # 2 from Yoga Max. Good stuff. :)

Gotta eat lunch and get moving. I too (like Diana) have been tasked with bringing dessert for Easter dinner tmrw at my mom's. I have decided to make this: Skinny Apple Cobbler | Skinnytaste As with most everything else I have tried from the Skinny Taste site, I am sure the dessert I picked will be delicious and that no one will even realize it's a lower fat/healthier dessert. ;) So anyway, I need to get started on the dessert asap because I also plan to make an eggplant and garlic pizza for dinner tonight and I want to make sure I have plenty of time for both. :)

Well I've decided to do an UB routine from loving fit this morning:
Upper Body Bootcamp Workout : @LovingFit

It's an interval w/o...I'm also wanting to do HSTA, but may give the other w/o a go instead. If I don't stop perusing online w/o's and get to working...the day will soon be away from me.

I'm making 2 desserts for tomorrow, one is peanut butter bars and the other is a strawberry angel food cake recipe:

Lori-hmm, not sure sleeping from 12:30 to 4:30 would be enough sleep for me. Somehow you manage being sleep deprived with ease, I on the other would be a total BI...OTCH! Loved the picture of the boys on FB, they are adorable for sure! Our weather is nice too so a run would be a good either today or tomorrow.

Wendy-those BH w/o's really get me. They seem to start off easy then HELLO...i'm dropping my weights and have all different weight selection around me! Your dessert looks great!!!

Had a awesome run outside. Did just over 14k, my longest distance since DS was born.

Wendy** we are having brunch tomorrow so I offered to make baked French toast.....and there isn't anything skinny about it :)

Diana** I love angel food cake and peanut butter so I would def have to try both desserts.

Scale was down another lbs today....Slowly getting there.

Happy Easter Ladies!

I'm up early to get my desserts made and .....drum roll please....Go for a run! It's a bit cooler today but should make for a comfortable run.

We had a wonderful at MIL's yesterday with my DH's cousin & uncle, as well as my nieces, SIL & BIL. We are headed back over there today...more food, fun and festivities!

The ab roller I got the other day is pretty cool. I'm going to try using it most days and see how it goes. I did notice the piece of equipment has 4.5 stars! I can feel I've used it the next day for sure.

I recently finished my work out...Grab Your Balls BR (18 mins) and Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga-all but the ab segment (about 45 mins). It was a great work out! :)

Well a major kink was put in our plans for today because we were supposed to go to my mom's and she is now sick. So now I have tons of apple cobbler and she has tons of stuffed cabbage and we will not be getting together to eat it all! :( She offered us some or all of the stuffed cabbage if we want to swing by to pick it up or maybe we can go there for dinner this week to eat it. We shall see what happens. Hopefully the apple cobbler will get eaten some how as well. It was a time consuming recipe to make and it tastes really good. I'd hate for it to go to waste. Not sure if I can freeze it either...:confused:

Ok, enough complaining! Gotta get cleaned up and talk to DH to see what he wants to do.

Lori:: Your french toast sounds yummy!

Feeling yucky all morning so far...no work out unless/until I feel better...

DS is home with me this week for his spring break so we will be heading to the park or something for him in a bit. In the meantime I am doing some housework and a whole lotta nuthin. lol

Morning Ladies ..

I had a wonderful weekend - didnt get to workout SUN - went and visited for Easter - then we went to run errands getting ready for trip - then we took my DM and DN fishing - we had a blast - I GOT SKUNKED - yes I was only one that didnt catch anything .. DN had a ball .. he caught the most and the biggest! DN and DH are like two huge kids - picking and kidding each othe .. fun outting!

Today is crazy - one of my co-workers whom is also a very good friend - just put in her resignation - she got a great job offer - more money .. and chance of promotion to mngr w/in a year .. WITHOUT a 4 year degree requirement - which is soemthing YOU HAVE to have here .. :eek: . so my work group is shook up - b/c she is THE BEST worker - effecient - nice .. a great loss for this company .. and I personally will miss the heck out of her!!

No workout today - I have MEGA ERRANDS at lunch - then tonight is a GGT for a friends B-day! My other friend is hanging in - her will is still so strong -

Wendy - great workouts - so you are finally LOVING BOB huh?? :p well if you are like me it is a love hate kinda thing!! LOL

Di - sounds like a great weekend!

Lori - congrats on the long run .. I still havent gotten my longest in yet ... no time! but my 6 miles did feel awesome FRI .. with every breath and step I was thinking how lucky I am to have my health when so many are suffering!!

Hi Ladies,

No workout for me this morning...stayed up til 11:30 and didn't have the strength for a w/o. Unfortunately it is lunch time...and I still don't feel like working out. It's seems my rest day has turned into Mondays over the past few weeks. I'm okay with that.

I'm looking forward to starting Tri training tomorrow night. It's from 6:30-8 on T/TH. I'm going to have to leave right at 6pm in order to make it on time. I didn't realize this, but the training is 10 weeks long.

We had a great time this weekend. DS2 had to work Sat/Sun so we didn't see to much of him. DH's cousin and uncle were visiting and we had so much fun. Looks like we will be going to Maine in July. Wating to get Jerod's summer football schedule before making our reservations though.

Wendy-sorry you're not feeling well. Have fun with DS today. Have you started looking for a job, or will you be taking the summer off with DS? Speaking of jobs, I should hear about the one I interviewed for early next week. Still unsure if it's something I really want to do or not.

Laura-sounds like you had a fun family filled weekend too!! Yesterday was my longest run so far, 4.5 miles. Happy to hear your girlfriend is still hanging in there. Hope you have a wonderful vacation. One of my teammates doesn't have a degree (the only one who doesn't), yet she is the favorite and gets all the prime assignments-very frustrating.

Lori-you must be recovering from the holiday festivities with your kiddo's.:p

Hi Girls,

I thought I checked in yesterday....guess not. I know I read your post, I probably got sidetracked, which is quit possible around here.

Yesterday's brunch was good. Everyone was full but I could have had more (blame it on the nursing;) ). While we were there a dinner plan was established which was a big Turkey dinner. Between meals I went for a 10 k run and then I did 4DS/HR shoulders,bics and tris. And to think of it, I'm not sore today:eek: Thought for sure I would be! Today's workout was plyo, 20 mins run and HR abs. I ate sooo many chocolates yesterday, it was nuts. The funny thing is, no matter what I eat I don't gain, I just won't lose. I can live with that!

Laura** Sounds like you have a lovely evening planned. I love get togethers with friends. Nothing like a few good laughs.

Diana** I saw your pics on FB. I'm guessing the young girl was your neice? She is beautiful!

Wendy** How are you feeling? Hope you haven't caught a nasty bug.

I should go check on dinner. The baby is a sleep and DS is gone to my inlaws for dinner...the house is nice and quiet:)

Hey Ladies.

Finally felt good enough to work out this afternoon after 3pm when I got back from taking DS to the park for an hour. Fresh air and sunshine works wonders even though it was windy and chilly too!

I did Bob's work out #2 + the bonus work out from his Total Body Transformation dvd. Bob's work out # 1 was much much tougher hence my add on which definitely brought it up a level. Those shoulder presses were crazy hard by that second set! :eek: Loved it! ;)

Off to get dinner ready.

Good Morning

I'm a wee bit tired this morning. The baby was up at 3:30 and 5:30, then DS joined us around 3:30 as well. Around 6 I moved out into DS's room with the baby. The baby started to stir and I thought he was waking up....but I am up and he isn't. Doesn't matter cause DS has an appt at 9 so I had to get up anyway. I am not sure how I am going to make this appt with two kids in tow, I use to have a hard enough time with just DS before. I am kind of hoping DH will take him and I will just stay home:)

I think today's workout is strength:) After that I will either add on a run or I may run outside later today if the weather is good and DD watches the kids for me. It is suppose to be wet all week so our snow should disappear pretty quick, there isn't much left now. I am also going to my parents house later this week for a couple of nights so I should get some good runs in out there....just need to rememeber to take some formula with me!

We went to walmart last night and bought a new tv for the living room. We have a tv in our room, one right in the basement and one in the garage. The one in the garage is to big for the living room and b/c DH is going away he is going to sell it instead. We really needed one in the living room cause its closet to the kids rooms and I will be spending a lot of time in this room.

Wendy** Sounds like you enjoyed your workout. I am thinking about purchasing a universal gym. But that totally depends on the price. I should be able to get a 2nd hand one. I think my brother knows someone that owns a gym and he is always buying things from him. I text him yesterday but he didn't answer me:confused: Oh well!

Good Morning Ladies,

This morning I'm giving Lori's favorite a go-High Reps. I've done it before but its been a long time. I previewed a bit of it last night while doing laundry. Not sure if I can hang with the lunges or not, but we'll see. I may even do a short run at lunch. There's a chance of rain, I'm not running if it is raining. Tri training starts tonight, yippeee.

Lori-It'll be a nice break for you to visit your parents. Hope the weather keeps up so you can get your runs in. I need to be more consistent with my running if I want to see any improvement. I need to get signed up for the memorial day 10k. My longest distance to date was the 4.5 miles I ran on Sunday. Yep, the beautiful girls are my nieces, Bree & Taylor!

Wendy-glad you are feeling better. I went for a walk at lunch yesterday, just to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. I haven't tried the short w/o on Bob's TBT dvd, but I did preview it and it looks great.

Laura-you must be getting ready for vacation, have a great time. I'm looking forward to my vacation in July and August. It seems so far away right now.

Hey Ladies.

No work out for me today. Woke up feeling sick again and ended up not feeling so hot last night after dinner. :( I think I'm run down...work outs have been too long and too hard since getting laid off. Need to back off a bit I think. My body obviously can't handle it...No wonder why BR worked so well for me! Not giving up on Bob OR yoga though! I'll just have to re-adjust! :)

Oh and I thought you would be interested to know that our former check in member Jen (Irishrose) recently blew through training for her first HM which she will run in May and is now on track to be ready for a full Marathon in June she thinks! :D

Diana:: How did High Reps go? I haven't done that one in ages! Have fun with tri-training! I love that he put these short little abbreviated versions of the work outs on the dvds! I can use them as add ons and I am also going to string 2, 3 or 4 of them together some days to get a full w/o with a bit of everything in it! :D As for unemployment, I am just going with the flow...not rushing to find a job but not NOT looking either. Also investigating schooling so that perhaps I can have more of a "career" that I like rather then a job that I don't.

Lori:: Sorry you are tired today. I don't miss those sleep deprived days. It's one of 100 reasons why my son is an only child. :p My DH wants a universal machine and when we finally get out of this tiny little house he will probably buy one and he will get no complaints from me so long as it doesn't interfere space-wise with my treadmill and with the room I need for my cardio work outs, the rest of my equipment, etc! :D

Laura:: Glad you had fun fishing with your DN even though you didn't catch anything! Stinks when a co-worker you like is leaving huh? I had that happen a few times over in my last job. My boss leaving was the hardest though. :( Yeah, yeah, I admit it...Bob is growing on me like mold! :p:D

Good Morning:)

Up at the same times last night but I don't feel tired. DS wasn't in bed with us, which was a plus and I must have slept better over all.

I didn't get my workout in until last night and it ended up being a run outside. We changed cable companies yesterday, so all afternoon yesterday there was a guy here installing stuff:mad: And the baby actually slept for over 3 hours in the afternoon! Anyway, I had a light dinner and then ran outside for little over 10k. Its nice getting out in the evening, just to clear my head if nothing else.
Sooo...with all that said, today's workout will be strength and a run.

Diana** How was your training last night? Are you gonna enjoy it?? DD asked why we were going home and I told her it was to relax. My brother lives next door with his 3 teenagers but they are all away. I guess she is afraid of being bored :confused:, while I am going to relax.

Wendy** How are you feeling today? Hopefully its nothing serious!

Laura** Hope all is well.

I will bbl to report my workout. I have no plans for today....just a workout!

Good Morning Ladies,

Tri-training was great last night. We will be running/swimming on Tuesdays and biking/swimming on Thursdays. The class is an hour and half and we will be doing approx. 40 min of each activity with changing time for the pool. He wants to move the Thursday class to 6:15, but I'm pushing it to get there by 6:30. Perhaps I can leave early that day.

This morning will be some kind of cardio, maybe Intensity. Running errands at lunch to get goggles and a bike lock.

Lori-Yay for better sleep! Funny about DD, kids like to have things to do. It will be nice to spend time with your parents and let them take care of the kiddos so you can relax. Swimming isn't my strong suit but I'm learning a lot, so yep I will enjoy this class.

Wendy-hope youer feeling better today. I wish Cathe told us what weight she was using in HR's. It's nice to have that guide. Tell Jen I said congrats on her preparing to run a HM and FM. That's awesome! Maybe running is her calling.

Laura-so sorry for your loss. Enjoy your vacation!!
