Damage Control - April

Hi Ladies,

No word on the job front. This project just needed more resources and I was chosen. I'll be working 8-5 next week and lunches are being brought in. That's why I'm doing BR's in the morning, short and effective.

Yep, boob job and extensions are both correct. I like her w/o's regardless. Being barely an A mysleft I totally get it.

Good Morning Ladies:D

Another successful night...The baby didn't wake until 4:15:D And he went to bed at 10:30. Then DS woke at 6:50, said he peed in the bed which he didn't! I think he was sweating b/c he is sick and I couldn't convince him that he didn't pee...he kept trying to take his cloths off to get in the tub. Anyway...finally got him back in the bed and the baby woke an hour later. And again I felt better at 6:50 then I did 7:50. We are the only two awake in the house.

Yesterday's workout was 4DS and HR shoul,bic, tris and abs. And I did another Mindy spinnng workout so I have officially tried them all. One of my friends dropped the workouts off and I really needed to try them before she asked me!

DH is on cloud nine...he is floating around the house. He just can't wait to go even though he knows it will be tough. We are hoping to see each other a few times in that 6 month span. I checked to see if there were any marathons in that area during the time he is away and there is one on Sept 9th. It would give me plenty of time to train BUT they cap it at 800:confused: and when you run that far, you need to be surrounded! Also, DS will just be starting school so it probably wouldn't be the best time for me to be disappearing for a few days.

I think today's workout will be a long run outside. I to have the cold but other then a stuffed up nose I feel fine, which is the weird part. No chills, no aches...it just snuck up on me. I don't have allergies but I was starting to wonder yesterday.

Laura** Hope you enjoyed date night. That doesn't exist in my house....which is probably a good thing cause I don't want to turn out like Tori Spelling! :eek:

Diana** We were chatting last night about a guy who is doing a Iron man and his training has been inside:confused: He really needs to get outside! Running on the TM or riding a stationary bike, just isn't the same! Its in Aug so he really needs to pull his socks up.

Wendy** I have no clue who you gals are talking about but I will trust your judgement that she looks ridiculous:p

I may bbl to report my workout. Its my FIL's bday dinner tonight so I need to make something for that......first I need to figure out what to make.

Good Afternoon!:)

OMG my azz is on FIYAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy heck it hurts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek: This is a GOOD thing though, RIGHT!?! :confused: LOL :p

So last night's dinner was yummy for anyone who is interested BUT I personally wasn't a total fan of the particular sausage used in the recipe. I didn't like the flavor all that much. I think I would opt for another type next time but everything else was fantastic!!! I also added fresh garlic and homemade gravy as well...YUM!

This morning we brought DS to Karate (where he conned dad into buying him a uniform. We were going to wait a bit longer to see if he was going to stick with it. He swears he is. I hope so!!!!) and then went to the gym. DH and I did heavy upper body but I opted out of the shoulder work and did obliques instead. Good work out. I hopped on the TM for a warm up and did a little jogging...brought back memories....I still may join the gym and if I do I will probably catch the running bug again!

We are heading out in a few to bring DS and the dog to the park for a while and then a trip to Kohls and Joyce Leslie will be an order if there is time! After that it's home for a new pizza recipe and our usual game night with drinks. :)

Lori:: LOL. Good girl agreeing with us coz we'd come after you if you didn't! ;):p:D Glad you got good sleep. Maybe there's a light at the end of that sleep deprived tunnel after all! :eek: A good friend of my best friend just had her first born last night...a little girl they named Hannah. I hope mom got a lot of sleep before going into labor coz she ain't gettin' much now! :p

Good Morning:)

Another good night. The same as last. He woke at 4:30 and again at 8:30:D but I feel icky cause of the cold:(. Just hope the baby doesn't get it. I don't feel achy all over, just stuffed up. The baby and I are the only ones awake yet and it's 9:30. DS is having a nice little sleep in.

Yesterday I ran with the stroller for an hour. I went for time and not distance. Also ran with my friend which was nice for a change. Today I will probably do the same but I may not take the stroller. We will see.

Wendy** yeah, your friend could be sleep deprived for a while. I am surprised with how well I have coped with the broken sleep this time. I thought it would be worse but its not that bad.

I will bbl. I am having everyone here for dinner tonight. I haven't had them here in ages:eek:

Hello Ladies...Once again no time for any chat-chat...yet another fly-by as we are on our way out the door again! :eek:

Went to 9am Mass then to the gym for cardio (I ran!:D) and lower body (I'm officially a member as of today! B'day present from DH!:)), then home for lunch and showers and now off to Joyce Leslie for a quick fix and on to mom's for dinner to eat the ham she never cooked on Easter Day!

I guess I'll be back tmrw!HOPEFULLY there will be time for personals then!:rolleyes: LOL

Hi Ladies,

Had a busy weekend. Although I planned on running yesterday (Sat), it just didn't happen. By the time I was ready to head out, I realized my garmin had been knocked off the cradle and wasn't charged...UGH.:mad: I was starving and opted to eat instead of run without my garmin. Then I moved on to mowing the lawn, laundry etc.

Today however I met up with 3 other ladies and we rode bikes for 27 miles!!! We rode on a bike path and not the street which is fine by me. The more time I spend in the saddle the more comfortable I'll become...hopefully. I'll probably take my bike in for a fitting as I seem to have some neck and knee issues that could probably be easily resolved.

My schedule this whole next week is 8-5 which really puts a crimp in my morning workouts. Tomorrow calls for weight training but I'll be playing that by ear. May have to be done afterwork and we all know how well that works out for me.

Wendy-Yay for a new gym membership!!! What did you purchase at Joyce Leslie?

Lori-sounds to me like you've got your running legs back girl!!!:D

Laura-hope you had a great weekend.

Yesterday I ran again, did 11.5 k. Today I am thinking about spinning again and weights. I also have a drs appt this afternoon and tons of laundry to do!

Diana** sounds like you are enjoying biking more. Are your legs sore today? Enjoy your work week;)

Wendy** is the membership a early present or did we/I miss your birthday? How was the run? Did you feel like you missed it a little? ;) I went with my running partner again and running and talking is something I'm gonna have to get use to again.

DS should be all set for the summer. We bought him a second hand swing set/tree house for the backyard. It was 1400 and we got it for 300. This guy bought it for his kids and then his wife left him and she moved.

I will bbl. After my drs appt it should be pretty quiet around here

MON - UGH

Hello ladies -

it is CRAZY in here .. yes short handed .. by THREE people this week .. EEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!! CALL ME A LAZY BUM - I did nothing in the way of exercise this weekend - all i did was clean and enjoy my babies - well DH and I went out SAT night .. and date night was awesome ;) but other than that.. had major allergy head .. crap!!! and of all things - now my bad eye is infected .. GGGRRRRRRRRRRR...

Lori --- GREAT deal on the swing set .. WOW .. too bad for the guy .. but GREAAT for you and your little ones ...

DI - 27 MILES!!!!! :eek::eek::eek: WOW - copngrats!!!! was the butt sore???? yikes!!!! WTG girlie! when I saw that on FB .. i was thinking you RAN 27miles .. I was like .. good gosh IRON WOMAN!!!! LOL

Wendy - Glad you have been working out for me .. LOL ..

OK .. better run .. hoping to get in a COLD run this afternoon ... it is high of 64 .. and wind is HOWLING ... tonight to be 37 .. HUGE difference from the 80's we have been seeing!!!! have a great one!
 
Back again. It's quiet here today. I don't like talking to myself:p.

My workout was GS shoul, bic and tris, MMA punching combos and abs and more spinning. I might go for a small run tonight. We will see how energetic I am.

I had some shirts delivered today that I ordered online. Apparently the model was wearing size small so I ordered medium. Well....there was no way that model was wearing small without a cloths pin holding the shirt tight cause what I have is to big. But the lulu I ordered looks smashing:eek: It will probably be my last lulu order for a while.

Laura** sorry to hear that work is crazy. At least the day will fly. Sounds like you had a great weekend.

Hello Ladies. :)

Originally I had hoped to hit the gym for a short session on the TM right after dropping the boy off at school this morning but the knees are really talking to me after y'day b/c I don't have the right type of running shoes yet :rolleyes:...I figured this might happened but needed to see if I was still into it before investing in $90 sneakers, YKWIM!? :eek: So the good news is that I am psyched to get back into it and will be going sneaker shopping on Wednesday with my mom. She will be buying them for me as a B'day present which brings me to Lori's question-Yes, the gym membership and now the sneakers will both be early gifts. My B'day in April 30th so you didn't miss anything.:)

All that said, I didn't know what I wanted to do exercise wise so instead I sat down in front of the computer all morning investigating career/schooling options. It wasn't time wasted but I felt crappy after sitting still all morning long anyway... :rolleyes: ...so after much hemming and hawing I settled on P90X yoga and I did the whole stinkin' thing! Yeup! That's right!!! ALL 90 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!:eek: And guess what else!!!??? I managed to get into the CRANE POSITION with BOTH feet off the floor!!!!:D:D:D I was never able to do it before and I did it a couple times today!!! Only for a few seconds each time but still! I was soooo excited!!!!:p

So as far as my investigiation in careers and the schooling required for them I am honing in on finding out more about being a medical laboratory technician. I won't get rich off of it but it sounds interesting and requires an Associates Degree which is my limit as far as any type of schooling goes. Not even sure I can hack that much yet. Lots to consider! :eek::confused::eek::confused:

Now I am sitting here trying to decide what to make for dinner while DH is at the gym...I already committed him to a gym visit with me after he gets home from work on Wednesday so I can try out the new kicks I get!;)

Laura:: Sounds to me like a pretty good weekend despite your allergies and the lack of formal exercise. :)

Di:: Always hated when I had a run planned it got messed up!:mad: Awesome job on the 27 mile bike ride though!!!:D I bought a pair of shorts and 2 shirts at Joyce Leslie. I could have bought so much more but we were limited on time and I don't have a job. :p

Good Morning Ladies,

So I was at work at 8am yesterday, the rest of the group didn't show up until 8:45. I was pissed since I had to miss my w/o in order to be there at 8. I'm working out this morning. I should do weight training since I have run/swim tonight. I'm really feeling like doing AT, a circuit instead. Guess I'll pick something out shortly.

Laura-you must be slammed at work, 3 people short is a lot! Well yah know, if I could run 27 miles I'd do a marathon.:p

Wendy-have you looked into any trade schools. My sister is a vet tech and I think she went to school for 9-12 months. It was M-F but I can't remember if it was all day or half days. I hear yah on the school front, I have a bachelors and have looked at getting my masters several times. Unfortunately I just don't want to dedicate the time or money for an advanced degree.

Lori-more lulu..you go girl. I just wear wife beaters and shorts when I workout at home. I do have some better stuff (not lulu) for my rec ctr classes though.

Hey - I made my run ystdy - the wind was howling it was like running in a wind tunnell .. my legs were on fire!!! but it was a great one!!! DOMS: inner thighs and core ...

Wendy - what about a APT (assistant physical therapist) for your career - that is a 2 year degree .. a field that is always in need of people .. you already have a background in health and fitness .. why not add therapy!! then you could give US all advice on our ailing OLD bones!! LOL .. but seriously .. that is what I would do if I were not with this company!!!

DI - OMG .. i would be ticked if everyone else was that late ... crap .. and you sacrificing the morning workouts .. ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrr ...

Lori - hoping the baby had another good nights sleep!!!

OK .. I AM slammed .. gotta jet . . getting my hair cut at lunch .. then hoping for a run this afternoon! .. have a great one!! ;)

..and I was supposed to rest today!:confused: I will never learn!:eek::rolleyes:

Hi Girls,

Just getting a minute to check in. Last night wasn't a good one. He is settling earlier and then he wakes up more often. Its a catch 22. I enjoy some time to myself in the evening but then I am up more at night. I think I would rather not have anytime to myself in the evening and sleep good!

Anyway...today's workout was another spinning workout and after each interval segment I did a few sections from B&G's. My legs were not happy with me at all.

Wendy** Sounds like you have/had some nice bday gifts already. Im happy you are getting back into running. You were so close to doing a full mary! My friend has convinced me to do another one next year. That gives me lots of time to get my endurance back and I should have the time to train when I have to start.Have fun shopping for new shoes! Oh and a new carrer sounds like fun!!! You just need to figure out your calling:D

Laura** Thanks for the good sleeping vibes...send them my way tonight too please! I was so tired when he woke at 5 cause I was up at 12:30 and 3! Ugh! I don't even think I heard him crying. DH asked if I wanted him brought to me and that's what he did. I always hated running in the wind cause it felt like I wasn't moving, Ive gotten use to it though.

Diana** I would have been sooo pissed! Did they have a good reason or were you early? Yes I ordered MORE lulu:eek: The crops were so cute BUT I had the guilts when the arrived and my friend might by them. If she doesn't I am ok with that too:eek:

Lori:: I felt like a mom of a newborn last night and am tired like one today! I was up most of the night. Went to sleep at 10pm, woke up at 1am and couldn't fall back to sleep until 5am. :rolleyes: Hoping tonight is better for BOTH of us! Yeah tell me about how close I was to a full mary! :eek: I can't promise I would've had the nerve to do a full after the awful cramping issues I had during the 18 miler :( but I would have liked the opportunity to make that decision for myself! :rolleyes: I STILL hate that gym for that...among other STUPID things they did! :mad: So when is this full mary you are going to do next year? Maybe I will join you "in spirit" by doing one in my neck of the woods around the same time! :D...Wait a minute! Did I really just say that!?!? :eek:;):p
 
Happy Hump Day!!

Hi Ladies,

I got some bad news last night, my stepmom passed away. I'm a little miffed about this....my aunt who lives in Kansas (stepmom's sister) called to let me know about 10:20pm last night. She said she was almost to my parents house..which is 15 min away from me. The Sr. Center she belongs to requested a well-check since she hadn't been there for several days. The detective said it appeared to be a natural death maybe 2 days ago. I'm hoping she passed in her sleep free of any pain. I expect more details today when I go meet with my aunt and uncle.

Oh, I ran into my bootcamp trainer and she offered to trade my personal training session that I won for a month of ViPR training. That is a much better deal for me. Hopefully this summer I will take her up on that.

On the tri front, I'm getting my bike fitted for me on Sunday. Hope its not terribly expensive.

The intention for today was GS BSB but my shoulders and upper back are a bit sore this morning so it will be C&T instead.

Lori-Yeah, the life of a newborn Mom. Wow, what mary are you looking at. Heck, maybe I can even run one now that my foot has been fixed! Don't feel too guilty about your lulu purchase, you obviously put them to good use.

Wendy-you post had me laughing out loud. I don't like people either! DH said you should be an HR person since they deal with policy. Working with people is just a front! Yes, my family definetly loves swedish meatballs! Good choice. Let me know about this mary you are considering, heck it would be fun to do a HM together.

Laura-running in the wind is the worst..UGH. You are probably glad you stuck it out though. I've been using my garmin for running and recently tried using for biking....ended up have to download the latest software for it and now I can't get it to work for running or biking...GGGRRRR:mad:

Fly by to report my work out before I head out the door to shop/eat lunch with mom!

Muscle Max upper body push pull premix plus the following lower body work out with heavy weights::

3 sets of 20 reps of barbell squats with 2 min rests between sets.
3 sets of 10 reps of barbell stiff legged dead lifts with 2 mins rests between sets.
4 sets of 12 reps per leg of lunges with 90 secs rest btwn sets. I did right leg then left leg then rest x4. I lunged forward for 2 sets and backward for 2 sets to mix it up.

Heading to the gym later with DH for a run in my new sneakers I am buying today! :D
